Masked Man of Mystery Posted January 22, 2006 Report Posted January 22, 2006 I'm talking about Bas Rutten and Don Wilson's movies, mostly, so that I can get them out of my Netflix queue if they're just dreadful
razazteca Posted January 22, 2006 Report Posted January 22, 2006 Ring of Fire has Don Wilson in it and Shoot Fighter has Joe Son, Bolo and the blond kid from Karate Kid!
Lord of The Curry Posted January 22, 2006 Report Posted January 22, 2006 Oleg Taktarov, an early UFC fighter has appeared in such films as Rollerball (2002 remake), 15 Minutes and National Treasure. I'm pretty sure he dies in all of them. Randy Coture, Chuck Liddell and Tito Ortiz are all in Cradle 2 The Grave vs Jet Li in the cage fighting sequence. Tito's also in The Crow 3 (or 4, I forget).
Your Paragon of Virtue Posted January 22, 2006 Report Posted January 22, 2006 Tim Sylvia, Jens Pulver, and Chuck Liddell all play Klansmen in some upcoming movie. Sounds promising.
Lord of The Curry Posted January 22, 2006 Report Posted January 22, 2006 Doesn't Sylvia have some psuedo Confederate-Flag type of tat?
teke184 Posted January 22, 2006 Report Posted January 22, 2006 Ken Shamrock and some other UFC guys are in Virtuosity. The movie is a chunk of shit, though, despite the presence of Russell Crowe and Denzel Washington.
Masked Man of Mystery Posted January 22, 2006 Author Report Posted January 22, 2006 But are they good? I already have seen enough of Cradle to the Grave to know I won't enjoy it(is Tito the one who gets his ear ring ripped out?)
Guest Brian Posted January 22, 2006 Report Posted January 22, 2006 I saw Ken Shamrock in like Scarecrow 4 or something like that.
Guest Askewniverse Posted January 22, 2006 Report Posted January 22, 2006 Ken Shamrock had a large role in Champions.
Corey_Lazarus Posted January 22, 2006 Report Posted January 22, 2006 I saw Ken Shamrock in like Scarecrow 4 or something like that. I was actually going to bring that up. Scaregrow Gone Wild is the best of the Scarecrow movies...but that isn't saying much at all.
Anakin Flair Posted January 23, 2006 Report Posted January 23, 2006 Ken Shamrock and some other UFC guys are in Virtuosity. The movie is a chunk of shit, though, despite the presence of Russell Crowe and Denzel Washington. Are you kidding? That movie was the shit! "I slice, I dice, I julieanne. How about a hanging? By the...testicles?" Crow and washington were gold in that movie.

Scaregrow Gone Wild is the best of the Scarecrow movies...but that isn't saying much at all. I love the fight scene with Sham and the 'Crow.

Or better yet, "snap" then ankle lock him?
Sandman9000 Posted January 23, 2006 Report Posted January 23, 2006 Don Frye's in Godzilla: Final Wars. They give him a sword. He also looks far too much like Mike Haggar for my tastes. I kept screaming for him to piledrive someone, but he wouldn't listen.
Black Lushus Posted January 23, 2006 Report Posted January 23, 2006 if you don't have Shootfighter on your list, make sure you get it on there ASAP! It's cheesy, but good.
starvenger Posted January 23, 2006 Report Posted January 23, 2006 Oleg Taktarov, an early UFC fighter has appeared in such films as Rollerball (2002 remake), 15 Minutes and National Treasure. I'm pretty sure he dies in all of them. He was also one of the Russian Terrorists that just died in 24, I think. Taktarov was pretty good in 15 Minutes, but the movie was shite.
Placebo Effect Posted January 23, 2006 Report Posted January 23, 2006 The Vault and The Eliminator (Rutten's films) are both pretty bad. The Eliminator is bad because it's just not a good movie, and you'll only like The Vault if you can set aside the very low budget and extremely silly nature of the film. I could, and as a result, dug it. Scarecrow Gone Wild is, to me, equally as awful as the second Scarecrow. I don't know why people harp on the first one so much. It was good, generic, slasher fun. As for Don Wilson's movies, they're hit and miss. Nearly every movie he's starred in is produced by Roger Corman, so none of them are fantastic. I've yet to see a lot of his films, but I did enjoy Bloodfist II and III. The first one is an unspectacular ripoff of Kickboxer. As the series progresses the movies stop being about kickboxing and start thrusting Don Wilson into the position of kicking and punching his way through tasks like saving the world from a nuclear bomb that terrorists are ready to blow up.
Dr. Zaius Posted January 24, 2006 Report Posted January 24, 2006 Has anyone mentioned Bob Sapp? He's been in a few movies.
