The Amazing Rando 0 Report post Posted January 24, 2006 That would have been much better with just the music instead of the silly over-sized intro from Cena.

Guest Dam(o)nYankees Report post Posted January 24, 2006 I know they're going to continue pushing him out of spite, but I'm actually flabergasted that they thought Masters was such a big star that he would be a big reveal.

Hunter's Torn Quad 0 Report post Posted January 24, 2006 Triple H's promo was the very definition of "going into business for yourself". I thought it was nice of Triple H to let us watch a booking meeting.

2GOLD 0 Report post Posted January 24, 2006 It's a scary day when Triple H coming out dressed like he is rejecting Big Show's loan application is the best thing on RAW. The main event was a squash and Edge didn't even bother to really get in the ring. How EXACTLY did that make us want to see Edge vs Cena?

Gary Floyd 0 Report post Posted January 24, 2006 Boring Raw tonight The Good Michaels vs. Shelton. Great stuff, and just more proof of how awesome Shelton is. Spirit squad. That was so surreal, it was awesome. The Bad Shelton's Mama. Cena's promo The HHH promo Coach. God, just shut the fuck up. Michaels/Vince feud. I just don't give a shit. Nearest I can tell, we care about Edge vs. Cena because she fucked Jim Duggan. Man, Duggan has fallen on really rough times then. All he can get is Lita? Damn...poor guy. Guest JericholicEdgeHead Report post Posted January 24, 2006 The only thing WWE has going for it now is it's history. The reason people will spend $40 on the Royal Rumble....because it's the Royal Rumble, it has a great history. The reason people will spend $50 on Wrestlemania...because it's Wrestlemania, it has a great history. The reason people turn into RAW...because it's basically the only show in town, not much else for kids/young adults to do on a Monday night..and because it has a (somewhat) great history. Throw away WWE's history and "traditional PPVs" they have nothing because right now the current product is at the brink of being unwatchable. Vince knows this but I guess he figures he won't be around for many more years so he is just riding on the WWE name and being the only game in town to retirement. This is why we get shows like we saw tonight.
randomguy 0 Report post Posted January 24, 2006 Carlito vs. Kane was better than I thought, Carlito actually got a lot of offense in. HBK vs. Shelton was good. Coach vs. Lawler was a MOTY candidate. Ok...not really. I don't know why WWE continues to push ideas that 99% of the fans clearly hate. Nobody cares about the announcers at all! It might be a good change of pace once every three years or something, that's it. It seems like every month some announcer wrestling for some reason. Can't they tell that people hate that crap? Main event was pretty bad. Flair is awful. There, I said it. All he can do is chop. How boring. And Cena is still being booked as the super-achiever overcoming all odds. If they give him back the belt everyone will immediately start hating him again. Cena single-handedly laying out Masters and Edge is just stupid. I hope to got Edge wins clean at Rumble. I know there is only about a 1% chance of that happening, but I'm praying.
Detox 0 Report post Posted January 24, 2006 from Edge's promo I thought that maybe Foley could be Cena's partner in a swerve. WWE proves us right and delivers the obvious.
The Tino Standard 0 Report post Posted January 24, 2006 Just remember the old rule, gang: Get punked on Monday, you win on Sunday. Edge retains at the Rumble.
cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted January 24, 2006 I must be the only one who caught a brief mention in Edge's opening promo. He was trashing Cena and said something like "After I beat Cena on Sunday and send him to the back of the line you people will have to find another overrated piece of crap to get behind." I couldn't help but think RVD. HHH isn't winning the Rumble guys. It just has no heat, and it makes zero sense. 1. He has no real momentum. Sure, he's blathered a couple of times about "At WM I will face whoever and get the belt." So what? It's just typical heel promo, no real passion behind it. 2. He's also in a feud with the Big Show and right now has dominated it, breaking the Show's hand and beating him at NYR. Show will get that receipt by tossing HHH from the Rumble. This is the weirdest Rumble. There's no one you can point to and say "This guy is winning it hands down." Is there even a favorite? I keep hearing shit about Orton but the guy is dicking around with Orlando Jordan and the US division on SD at the moment, so he really makes no sense. My pick right now is Van Dam. Edge threw in that subtle little shot about another "overrated piece of crap" for the fans to get behind, and frankly RVD will be the most over guy in the Rumble match anyway. If he gets tossed before the end I guarrantee the crowd shits on the rest of it.
The Tino Standard 0 Report post Posted January 24, 2006 Yeah, this is definitely the most wide-open Rumble in years. I'm going to say Michaels wins it, if only to build on what I was saying earlier: His whole arc with Vince is going to end with them joining forces and him turning heel to win the title. All the stuff Vince is doing now is his way of "testing him". I'm saying I like the idea. It's just where I see this going.
