The All-star starters will be announced before the Thursday games on TNT...I wouldn't have really marked this before, but now with Jermaine out I'm interested to see who steps into that spot.

From all accounts I've heard, the Rockets should have Yao back sometime this week.

The Bulls/Suns game is marked just for my own personal reminder...as far as I know it's just parts of the Midwest that get that channel.

I'm just glad the comparative nonsense between the Pistons 35-5 and the '84 Tigers 35-5 records

is over. That was about as silly as silly gets.

the Clips at Orlando sounds intriguing, as does Phoenix at Boston.

Suns were just missing too many people today. Without Raja Bell, and Thomas and Diaw getting into foul trouble so early, I expected a bigger loss. I am starting to wonder what the fuck Jim Jackson did to Mike D'Antoni because he refuses to play him no matter what.

They claim Jackson has to play most of the game or none at all... that it is the only way he is effective. It's just hard for me to believe their 6th man last year and one of their hottest players in last years playoffs just gets no play though.

I think we have seen the biggest trade already..

The game last night was good, though watching Kobe drag the Lakers back into the game almost all by himself was interesting... but too little too late.

I read an interview with Dwight Howard last night, and that kid is humble as all get out. I just hope he stays that way and continues to improve.

I actually think that the Timberwolves are going to be pretty good now. Mark Blount looks like he wants to play, Ricky Davis is going to be Ricky Davis and if they keep Marcus Banks or trade him for Reggie Evans and/or Flip Murray, they might sneak into the playoffs and have a future.

Yeah, I went to the summer league in Vegas last year, after his rookie year. Despite having a solid rookie year, he was one of the second year players there. He was by far one of the top there and he was definately the nicest. On the night the Magic were the last game of the night, he stayed after and signed stuff for everyone and gave away his shoes too! This guy is awesome on and off the court, I definately agree with what you said.

Per ESPN

Dunk contest participants are Josh Smith, Andre Igoudala, Hakim Warrick, and Nate Robinson.

Nash will be back in the skills challenge, Q-Rich will be back for the 3-point contest. None of the other people have been announced yet, but LeBron James will be in the skills challenge.

I saw Iggy play in the Steve Nash Charity game in Toronto this past summer and he threw down (and missed a couple) sick dunks. This guy has creativity in inventing new dunks you've probably never seen before. One of the things he did was a self alley oop, then he grabbed the ball with his left hand and passed it to his right hand behind his back and windmilled it from there. Although he missed, it was innovative and if he keeps up the creativity, the contest is his.

Over/under 10 on Spud Webb references.

I'll take the over. The sports media is very predictable, and it's the 20th anniversary of Webb winning the Slam Dunk contest.

I thought the Pistons were gonna make the comeback, but thanks to some sloppy ball-handling, terrible shooting beyond the arc, and Jason Kidd's great night, it wasn't happening.

17 for Peja in his Pacer debut on 4-10 shooting and 8-10 from the line. Pacers lose 84-79, but it wasn't as close as the score would indicate. The whole game was generally bad, but most notably Stephen Jackson turned in a pitiful performance and actually had me yearning for Al Harrington for a while.

Rasheed's getting a little too 3 happy. he kept jacking them up and went 1 for 12.

i'm not too torn up about the loss though, I think we were due. Too many of the last few games have been close, houston, milwaukee, memphis, even the letdown at the end against the lakers.

All I know is, is that I love beating the Knicks, I love seeing their fans get mad about it, I love watching Knick players trying to goon Laker players and failing, I love watching Larry Brown getting kicked out of the game, I love watching Phil Jackson beat up on the Knicks like he always does, I love watching Kobe score 40 without even asserting himself and taking 17 shots, I love watching Sasha and Smush tear up teams, I love watching when the Lakers score 130 and I LOVE when ANDREW FUCKING BYNUM scores 16.

This was the best I've seen the Lakers play in years, I'm really happy tonight. When an 18 year old can get Kareem jumping off the bench in glee, you know you're watching something special. Bynum is going to be a star.

Yep, and cheering the Lakers at the end of the game. No one even bothered to shout them down or anything.

Knicks fans won't get mad about losses anymore except when they realize that about 60 of them this season is only going to give the Bulls a nice pick next year. Then again considering that most Knicks fans can't afford Knicks tickets, the suits who go to the Garden likely won't care as long as they can namedrop who they saw the next day at the office.

I really don't see the MVP love for the best player on the league's 10th best team, but that's just me. Having said that, I'd prefer to see Kobe get it than LeBron because then the fellatio for the league's only "all time great" never to make the playoffs would just be too much for me to deal with.

Kobe gets the MVP hype because of where he plays, and because of the point scoring season he's having. This team's going to play better down the stretch, so the hype's going to intensify as we go along.

I agree about Andrew Bynum, he had balls standing up to Shaq.

He has so much confidence right now. I love that aspect of his game, he's not afraid to talk trash either. Being around Kobe, Phil and Kareem has been great for him, Kobe's always out there boosting his confidence after every basket.

Not to mention he really does deserve the true meaning of Most VALUABLE player. Any game without Kobe in the lineup is a loss for the Lakers.
