Wrestling needs a "Punisher" Gimmick

I am now under the belief that a Punisher/Casey Jones type gimmick could be very effective.

The person wouldn't be there to wrestle week in and week out, only to watch the actions of others, and when things got out of hand , step in and try to kick ass.

A particularly heinous act can serve as a catlyst for a feud.

The closest I can remember anyone being to this gimmick was Sting's Crow gimmick vs the NWO when he'd swoop in to make the save, and actually be effective at it.

After enough time, we can even have The Punisher become to hardened by the sins of others and "go to far" in dishing out justice, turning a babyface aganist him, and making the Punisher a heel.

Any thoughts?

Maybe my brains just fried from a 12 hour marathon of Mid South, World Class, AWA, Georgia, WWF and NWA watching.

The Undertaker could play this role perfectly ... In EWR i used to book him like this ( Nerd Powa ! ). In fact it was more a crossover between the Punisher and the old Batman character from Frank Miller's Batman.

Undertaker is perfect for this role for several reasons:

- It gives him an excuse to not be on TV all the time. He's already working a part-time schedule as it is. But with this gimmick, there would be a reason he's coming back each time.

- He's been around longer than just about anybody in the company, and he has been referred to as "the conscience of the WWE" on multiple occassions. Get some new guy to play this role, and he'd lack the gravitas.

- Undertaker is already a dark and spooky character. This is just a progression of an established persona.

Undertaker was already called The Punisher as one of his early gimmicks in World Class Championship Wrestling.
