Shitty Raw tonight.

The Good

RVD vs. Carlito.

Micky James. It's official, I'm starting to enjoy her.

Maria before Cena's kiss. The girl is sexy, and just adorable.

The Bad.

John Cena

Shelton's Mama. Sure, she's gone, but now Shelton's going to be a full time jobber again.

The fact that the whole tournament is just an excuse for HHH to go over evryone else.

Vince vs. Shawn. Even the fans don't buy it, and are shitting all over it. Knowing Vince, he probably thins this is a good thing, since he thinks his own personal interests are more imporant than the people who watch his product.

The Return of Foley. Damnit, he will never go away.

But has anyone really taken a better set of bumps since?

Well, there was the Brock Lesnar Shooting Star Press into a near Death Dive a while back. Everyone was concerned about Angle, but it was Brock who ended up damn near killing himself.

No, only guy since was Shane, but those bumps were obviously very gimmicked. I mean really, from a mark's perspective, his bumps were fucking insane.

I think I worded that incorrectly, I don't care.

As far as real bumps go, nothing comes even close than Foley's on a big stage.

Hey, Triple H proved it; people love seeing Mick Foley get the ever-loving shit kicked out of him. :asshole2:

There's a difference between taking a bump and fucking up a move.

Shane's taken some pretty spectacular bumps.

They were all contrived (jumping onto crash pads) or accidental, for instance the spot where Angle tried to throw him through glass I think only for it not to break causing Shane to fall on his head wasn't a bump he planned so he doesn't get credit for that as there's a huge difference between a botched spot and a bump as someone else mentioned. Clearly Foley didn't accidentally fall off of the cage or through the cage into a gimmicked part of the mat so those are legit bumps.

I will say that RVD/Masters will be surprisingly decent next week. Masters is a hell of a lot better worker than Snitsky, in fact I'm not giving either him or Carlito much shit anymore since they are at least trying to improve to justify their pushes.

As far as predictions go, I'll take HHH over Big Show next week to blow off that filler feud. And I'll take RVD over Masters with either a botched Carlito run in to cost Masters or maybe RVD reversing the Masterlock into a pin (which keeps Masters strong).

The sad thing is that when they showed that voting it was like 45% for RVD, 24% for HHH, 12% for Big Show, etc. Will they listen to those poll results? Of course not.

But the fact remains Angle DID mean to throw him through the glass, which was still a pretty spectacular planned bump. And Foley's second fall was an accident.

I still give Foley the edge, though, since he's taken far more sick legitimate bumps than Shane over the years.

I know the cage broke, but didn't Foley fall on a part of the mat that was gimmicked? I haven't seen the spot in a while and don't really remember it all that well since I think it's one of the most overrated matches of all time. Marty Jannetty went through some glass many moons again, and while that might have been a big bump back then, now it's pretty minor at least in my mind. I also despise Shane McMahon so I'm likely biased when I hear people talk about him with such glowing praise as a bumper or wrestler.

He can't do that stuff anymore, which means that a Foley/Edge match will suck dick. The buildup will probably be good, never know anymore.

Mania's always the one PPV I buy in hopes that they will do something right, when they do, I watch for a few months to see if they'll impress me and if they don't, I just won't watch until next year.

Christian going from the ladder to the floor was big, especially at the time for me, but I don't think it was planned.

What about the bumps taken in TLC 2, the Swanton from the huge ladde, Christian going from the ladder to the floor

For some reason the bump off the cage impressed me more, but now that you mention it...

If you're talking about KOTR 98, the fall through the cage was totally unplanned, as was the chair falling onto his face. I thought that was pretty common knowledge by now.

The Hell in a Cell with HHH; the fall through the cage was planned, that's why the ring was gimmicked.

OK, I remembered spots from the two different matches but forgot they were from different matches. Thanks for the clarification since that was the planned cage bump I was talking about.

No, that's a myth. The only part of that that was unplanned was when the chair hit him in the face according to his book.

What! Mick himself says that cage wasn't supposed to give way in his book and on the latest DVD.

The fall through the cage in the Foley/UT match was NOT onto a gimmicked part of the ring... That was during the HHH/Foley HIAC match a couple years later. That second bump was a total fuck up, since the cage broke accidentally, and the chair fell on Foley's face.

And as far as just bumps go, I'd still give the TLC guys the edge in that department (provided we're not counting fuck ups) on a spot-to-spot basis. Foley's cell bumps were sick, but they are played off as more dramatic with the JR commentary and the lore surrounding the match, while the TLC guys were just expected to get up and do it again. The swanton off the 20 foot ladder, the spear with Jeff hanging from the belts, the 4 table spots... That's a lot to top. Foley's cell bump was more emotional, but I think it takes a backseat to some of the TLC bumps. Again, that's not counting the fuck up going through the cell, which is one of the sickest bumps of all time.

The TLC bumps go down in my mind as the greatest example of sheer stupidity by the guys taking them since there were so many bumps in rapid fire. It was entertaining as fuck though. Even something "benign" like Edge or Christian taking the crotch bump on the ropes off of a ladder could have gone very wrong as Edge's TLC match with Flair proved. I'm amazed no one involved ended up getting a crippling injury during one of those matches. If someone had channeled the spirit of Lita for even a moment we might have seen someone break their neck/back or die out there.

Things I thought I'd never say.

I love the Women's Division drama!

I love Shelton's Mama. She's finna catch a case up in hurrr!

Edge spearing Lita and her head smoking the edge of the steps comes to mind. And yeah, that was pretty 'benign' compared to some of the other stuff going on.

The only thing Stephanie is good for is writing lesbian tension storylines.

Every once in a while, Kane decides he needs to remind everyone that Al Snow trained him, and he actually knows something about wrestling. Usually though, he does it against someone like Angle. Doing it with Masters was just fucking weird.

I'm sick of the Trish-Mickie storyline. It was mildly interesting when Mickie was an obsessed fan, because it was a question of whether Trish would get fed up with it. Now the storyline is right out of Single White Female, and that movie sucked.

WWE is quickly turning me into a homophobe, because I fear their constant need to turn every diva into a lesbian. And it's giving legitimate hot-looking lesbians a bad name.

Posted
WWE is quickly turning more people away from watching their product, because they've had even more angles/characters that have wrestling fans feeling embarassed in front of their parents/significant others/friends. The fans are tired of having to explain some of the stupid shit WWE does to them constantly every year.

Edited for accuracy.

Masters going foward in the tournament over Kane? Pathetic.

The RVD/Carlito match was cool though.
