Fro 0 Report post Posted February 23, 2006 Online Voting is open until Sunday at Noon, go here to vote! http://register.go.com/abc/primetime/dancing/vote Da Meltz says: Although most sources have Stacy Keibler as the favorite to win Dancing with the Stars, from what we understand, the voting public doesn't favor her. She's apparently not getting as much support from wrestling fans as one would think (or if she is getting support, she's not very popular among the general public). On Raw, which reaches millions, she's been getting her own commercial for it the past few weeks, an advantage other contestants don't have. From what we understand, last week in the voting, Jerry Rice won due to his being the biggest name, even though he got the worst scores of the last four among the judges. Keibler finished either third or fourth in the voting last week, as one person familiar with the results stated that even with her doing well with the judges, she came very close to being voted off because of her not so good results from the audience vote. Still, she has made a name in Hollywood as people watching believe she has a great TV personality and her lack of breast implants has helped her cause greatly as far as network sitcom possibilities. Time will tell how this all turns out. Still, PinnacleSports.com has her listed as the favorite. The final voting ends at Noon Eastern time tomorrow. Keibler's # is 1-800-868-3404 Although I did get this message earlier so maybe she will get enough votes to win this thing... Hey guys, Stacy Keibler is in the finals of Dancing With the Stars tonight. She was in the bottom two last week despite having the highest scores... she desperately needs all the wrestling fan votes she can get if she's going have a chance to win this thing. So all hands on deck. Call 800-VOTE4-04 (800-868-3404) or vote at abc.com between 8 PM Thursday and 12 PM Friday EST (1 AM GMT to 5 PM GMT). You can vote unlimited times depending on how many e-mail addresses you have. Either way, it sounds like she's probably done with the WWE in a few months... one wonders what Vince McMahon will do with her in the interim. A dance-off against the Spirit Squad? naiwf 0 Report post Posted February 23, 2006 So the audience for this show just votes for who they know the best, not the best dancer? Keibler's not the best dancer, and the American public (read: mostly idiots) often vote for the person who took the harshest criticism from the judges the night before. It's not right, but it happens on any show where fans have any kind of say so in who advances.
Dangerous A 0 Report post Posted February 23, 2006 Either way, it sounds like she's probably done with the WWE in a few months... one wonders what Vince McMahon will do with her in the interim. A dance-off against the Spirit Squad? Stacy holds the cards here. She could just not wish to participate in whatever they may have for her, especially if it hurts her or buries her, and there really isn't much they could do about it. Her contract runs out sometime this year. I think she's gotten enough exposure from this show to not need WWE any more.
nl5xsk1 0 Report post Posted February 23, 2006 So the audience for this show just votes for who they know the best, not the best dancer? Didn't Master P get the most amount of fans votes while he was on the show? So, yeah, people vote as fanboys rather than who deserves to win. People who waste time calling for this shit need my fist in their jaw. Not only do I agree, I'd like to watch.
benoit4hor 0 Report post Posted February 23, 2006 Vince should book her in a match against Candice at Wrestlemania to show everybody that she's clumsy and not graceful. Then he's got his Playboy Devil Heel destroying the goody goody dancing bitch and sending her on her merry way.
Karc 0 Report post Posted February 23, 2006 Stacy can dance, knew that already. I think the bigger problem is that this show is beating the Olympics. Moving on...
Hawk 34 0 Report post Posted February 23, 2006 Stacy would be stupid to stick with the WWE. Unlike the other divas who got some media attention (Sable, Chyna, Torrie, Candice), she did it in a clean fashion, doesn't have the stereotypical WWE diva look (implants) and she has a personable personality. She already had bit parts in movies before DWTS and she's getting alot of attention the public light at this moment. I'm not saying she'll be the princess of hollywood or even get The Rock's level of popularity but she could easily find more work and not demean herself to working for a low-rate business like the wrestling business. She gets to keep her name as well.

Dangerous A 0 Report post Posted February 24, 2006 Even if she loses, she's gotten enough exposure to where she can probrably say good bye to pro wrestling and do a combo of movies/television/commercials/modeling.

Jared of Subway is very exposed, and he isn't going to be doing movies anytime soon. I'd think there may be something to this, but her recent mainstream exposure in things like In Touch magazine, USA Today, and on talk shows like Regis and Kelly and Ellen have been all about her DWTS appearances and wrestling was either an afterthought or not brought up at all. The one thing common about the show appearances and articles was that Stacy has a bright future outside of pro wrestling.

Jared of Subway is very exposed, and he isn't going to be doing movies anytime soon. No one is going to look at a gimmick spokesperson and decide "yeah, he can carry our movie". There's been exceptions before, where actors get noticed via a commercial and got them more work. Jared, isn't an actor. He's a spokesman. DWTS is a highly rated show, Stacy was on the front page of today's USA TODAY edition. DWTS draws a audience triple the size of WWE's and it's not a cross-over effect. Wrestling fans aren't drawn to the show and "dance/reality show" fans aren't drawn to Raw. Stacy will probably be forced to appear @ WM in some hokey skit involving Spirit Squad unless she is willing to risk breach of contract. Also, unlike those other stanks in WWE (Sunny, Sable, Chyna, Torrie...) Stacy was smart enough to stop dating worthless wreslters and attached herself to a young rising actor. KingPK 0 Report post Posted February 24, 2006 So the audience for this show just votes for who they know the best, not the best dancer? And this is different from every other show where the audience votes how? Anyway, she wasn't doing a hell of a lot in WWE lately anyway (on screen, at least), so she'd be an idiot not to try and parlay this exposure into something that doesn't have her under the Thumb of McMahon. "Hey, here's the name of Steph's plastic surgeon. Come on, just try them. You got nothing up there."

It's a combination of judges votes and audience votes. Stacy's had the highest judges vote totals for most of the contest.

She's on the cover of today's USA Today, been featured all over the media and appears to be a refreshing change from all other females associated with WWE. I don't know if the time is right for her to leave the company, however. The right time? How can this not be the right time? She's at the cusp of legitimate mainstream credibility, she's getting noticed all over hollywood with scripts and offers going her way. Credible hollywood career or working for the circus? That's a tough choice.

I read these pieces Stacy is getting in the media, very little "wrestling" jokes, if any. Even The Rock got "Rock slams Hollywood" stuff, It's like the public doesn't even associate her with being a wrestling personality. That's the telling sign, credibility from the mainstream media. USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted February 24, 2006 I'm sure Stacy will succeed in the hollywood world to the extent where WWE fans won't see her again in the ring, but I think people are severely overrating her coverage. Yes she's hot right now, but unless she was wise in the roles/gigs she choose, her exposure she built through WWE and DWTS will mean nothing. This means no bit parts in Big Momma's House 2 or some stupid shit. That just reeks of "LOOK ITS THE FLAVOR OF THE MONTH IN THE OBLIGATORY FLAVOR OF THE MONTH ROLE!" I mean when people think of people in wrestling most times they think of big muscleheaded guys with attitudes not pretty young girls like Stacy. But, I see your point. NYU 0 Report post Posted February 24, 2006 I actually wound up tuning into Stacy's last dance. She didn't do badly at all, but as the judges said, the dance was fairly plain. Definitely looked good but didn't seem to be anything that someone of adequate dancing ability couldn't do. The lift at the end was nice though. I find it funny that Jerry Rice and that Lachey guy both have family in the audience, and Stacy wound up dragging people like Torrie Wilson and Maven with her.
