Adam Posted February 26, 2006 Report Posted February 26, 2006 The Lakers SHOULD go 4-1 this week based on that draw.
Guest Vitamin X Posted February 26, 2006 Report Posted February 26, 2006 Which means of course they'll go 2-3
Guest Posted February 26, 2006 Report Posted February 26, 2006 With losses to Orlando, Boston and Portland.
alfdogg Posted February 26, 2006 Author Report Posted February 26, 2006 They'll beat Portland. They don't have the Kobe-stopper anymore.
Guest Posted February 26, 2006 Report Posted February 26, 2006 Sonics Serious About A Move To San Jose NY Daily News - 02/26 - 11:30 AM EST The Seattle SuperSonics ' intentions to move to San Jose are serious, but the league remains opposed to putting another team in Golden State's neighborhood. San Jose played host to the Warriors for one season in the late-90's while the Oakland Arena was being remodeled. It is the biggest city in the San Francisco Bay Area and has had success supporting the Sharks of the NHL. Kings To Anaheim? NY Daily News - 02/26 - 11:20 AM EST Having their bid for a new arena rejected more than once by Sacramento voters, Kings owners Gavin and Joe Maloof have quietly let it be known that they'd like to relocate to Anaheim. In Orange County, the Maloofs would be closer to their operations in Las Vegas. They already have plans to use an Anaheim location to drive their marketing for their hotel and casino, The Palms. That includes giving high-rollers use of luxury suites for Kings games and also having plenty of signage in the arena for their Vegas enterprises. The Maloofs can easily afford the franchise transfer fee, which experts say will be at least double the $30 million the Hornets paid the league to flee Charlotte for New Orleans. But the Maloofs will face strong opposition from the Lakers and Clippers, who will fight a third team entering what they consider their backyard. WHAT THE FUCK? Yeah, the Lakers should win, but they always lose to these garbage teams on the road.
Damaramu Posted February 26, 2006 Report Posted February 26, 2006 Dammit fuck that. Give OKC a team. They won't let us keep the Hornets and we've proved that we can handle and support an NBA team. Send one over here!
Guest Posted February 26, 2006 Report Posted February 26, 2006 That's where the Sonics will go if they aren't allowed to move to California. They only want to move there because San Jose sports fans are like sheep and will support anything. That's a good thing, but we don't need to see so much of the league in CA.
Mr. S£im Citrus Posted February 26, 2006 Report Posted February 26, 2006 Boston @ LA Lakers, 7:30 ESPN Orlando @ LA Lakers, 10:30 LA Lakers @ Portland, 10:00 LA Lakers @ Golden State, 10:30 Detroit @ LA Lakers, 10:30 God hates me, that's what it is...
naiwf Posted February 26, 2006 Report Posted February 26, 2006 That would be awesome if we ended up with the Los Angeles Kings of Anaheim.
Mr. S£im Citrus Posted February 26, 2006 Report Posted February 26, 2006 That would be awesome if we ended up with the Los Angeles Kings of Anaheim.Go to hell. If the Kings move to Southern California, I'll have to become a Bobcats fan.
Guest Vitamin X Posted February 26, 2006 Report Posted February 26, 2006 I wish there were a way to bar any team from moving to Anaheim. Seriously, what a shitty town, and it's only worse that it's still within the confines of the L.A. area.. where the Clippers have learned that they can't draw anyone because of it being Lakertown..
LivingLegendGaryColeman Posted February 27, 2006 Report Posted February 27, 2006 That would be awesome if we ended up with the Los Angeles Kings of Anaheim. Haha, that's the last thing we need... I really don't like seeing any of these teams move, especially Seattle based on how long the franchise has been there, but I'd think the Kings would be the front-runner to the Las Vegas sweepstakes. I mean, the Maloofs are already in Vegas, this would tie it together more. Places like Sacramento can't lose a franchise though. What else will they do there? Cow-tipping is only fun for so long...
Mr. S£im Citrus Posted February 27, 2006 Report Posted February 27, 2006 Did Pierce just try to put the sleeper on Kobe?
Kurt Angle Mark Posted February 27, 2006 Report Posted February 27, 2006 Lakers lose and Clippers get another national TV game
Mr. S£im Citrus Posted February 27, 2006 Report Posted February 27, 2006 Won't mean anything if we can't beat Portland tomorrow. Go Hornets; take Portland to triple OT, please!
Guest Vitamin X Posted February 27, 2006 Report Posted February 27, 2006 Man that was a bonehead foul by Kobe at the end. So far, I seem like I'm right. Lakers are a total pretender team this year. I'm okay with Odom, Parker, and Kobe in the starting lineup, but Mihm and Cook are strictly good bench players and not much else, and Kwame just straight out sucks. Having Butler around wouldn't make things any better either though, so I understand why that trade was made. But they really need to upgrade at PF.
Guest Posted February 27, 2006 Report Posted February 27, 2006 Turiaf will either be the next Ben Wallace (yes, I fucking said it), or Danny Fortson. He might be the PF the Lakers need down the road.
Guest Vitamin X Posted February 27, 2006 Report Posted February 27, 2006 I wouldn't say Ben Wallace, but Danny Fortson or even Rashard Lewis, maybe. I did see some impressive things about him today. Frontcourt players are never outright impressive their first season, anyways, but maybe Turiaf will get his act together. It's a feel-good story too, with the whole heart surgery thing and all. Or was that Von Wafer?
Guest Posted February 27, 2006 Report Posted February 27, 2006 Heart surgery was Turiaf, and I just love what he brings to the court. I'm probably overreacting, but anyone who can play like he did in his 6th game and 1st getting decent playing time deserves the highest praise from me. From what I've seen of him in college, his ceiling is Wallace, and worst case scenario he'll be a Fortson type.
Guest Vitamin X Posted February 27, 2006 Report Posted February 27, 2006 He did fuck up on what would've been an awesome play with Smush earlier. Man, that was a sweet pass from Smush than Ronny totally mishandled.
Precious Roy Posted February 27, 2006 Report Posted February 27, 2006 or even Rashard Lewis, maybe. WHAAAAAA?!??
Ripper Posted February 27, 2006 Report Posted February 27, 2006 Yah...what the fuck...Rashard Lewis? But Turiaf, I see the Ben Wallace in him. Fortson could be Ben Wallace but he has no timing on blocking shots. He can only own the boards. Turiaf has the ability to do both. Bynum, Turiaf, Odem, Bryant and some unnamed big point guard are the lakers future starting lineup. (It aint' gonna be Smush)
Damaramu Posted February 27, 2006 Report Posted February 27, 2006 I'm just glad the Celtics were on national TV. They're my favorite team and I never get to see them play.

MrRant Posted February 27, 2006 Report Posted February 27, 2006 Only 4 spots to go to get to the bottom!
Guest Vitamin X Posted February 27, 2006 Report Posted February 27, 2006 I meant Rashard Lewis at worst, Fortson at best. I don't know about Ben Wallace. We've only seen very little of Turiaf in the pros.
USC Wuz Robbed! Posted February 27, 2006 Report Posted February 27, 2006 While I'd prefer the Kings stay in Sacramento, I'm fine with them coming down to Anaheim. Makes it easier for me to watch them.
