Tony149 0 Report post Posted February 27, 2006 I'm still missing a few things, but since I have the ME and most of the major stuff the show is up in OAOAST HE. The show is a monster thanks to Alf's match, which looks awesome as hell. Just skimmed it as I was putting the show together and it looks like the clear favorite for OAOAST MOTY. Papacita once again did a great job with the graphics, even if he almost threw his PC through a window a few times. It must've been one of those nights for those working behind the scenes, as I felt like taking out some frustration on my PC putting the show together. Patty O'Green 0 Report post Posted February 27, 2006 There's not that many segments in, so this'll be easy to feedback! I liked how there was commentary from Jesse and Tony splashed throughout the show. Those two make excellent PPV MCs. Nice graphics as always. I thought for sure James Blonde and Faqu were gonna j-o-b. I figured they were just reintroduced to give GPX someone to beat up. But Zack, much like the time he showed up to my house in nothing but stiletto heels and bubble wrap, surprises me again! Who's the guy in the graphics who represents Blondie? The Ironman match was quite the good contest. I've never heard of NWA rules. What was the purpose of outlawing top rope moves? I think the barbwire bullrope was my favorite of the stipulations. Delightfully gruesome concept! Cole's excitement over Lindsay possibly getting punched in the face was funny in contrast to how I had him freak out when Wright stunnered Jade. The match may look long but it really read and went by pretty fast. A fun fifteen minutes. The Rodezing up bit was pretty cute. I already told Tony what I thought of his stuff. Good shit all around. The ending of the match was quite interesting, giving the Bruisers a legitimate gripe with the Rockers and OAOAST officials. I have an official answer to my question! Donald Trump owns the OAOAST! Hopefully we'll get that Donald Vs Martha match at AM Jesse hinted to. The main event was a good example of the semi-virtuous babyface overcoming the stacked deck set by the nefarious heels. And it had a very neat Anglemania-esque happy ending. Hooray! So will we see Zack going overseas to defend his newly won belt? Bring me back a souvenir! KingPK 0 Report post Posted February 27, 2006 Yeah, I'd put the Iron Man as my early winner for MOTY. Alf incorporated a bunch of different styles and types of matches into it and it was a great read. After so many years, Brock's finally a champ (I kind of dropped that whole Knight/Brock feud from a year ago a bit abruptly, didn't I?). How Alf bounces back from the loss for AM should be interesting. I tried to do a 24 knockoff for the open, but as I was writing it, it started to drag and I just hated it more and more. Overall, a good PPV that set up what presumibly will be matches for AM (Rodez/PR II, perhaps a match with COD and the Bruisers for a future tag title shot on top of the tag title match). Nice AM promo, Tony. We kind of need some new ones so I don't have to use the "Moments" one I did. I'll come up with some as well and I'll welcome any that any of you want to make. Tony149 0 Report post Posted February 28, 2006 (edited) I echo the comments made by Patty and PK. I'm a bit burned out from putting the show together, but the Iron Man is a must read. Loved the NWA rules stip, which I gave HI-YAH when that whole thing first started. I can't take credit for the Trump promo, originally used at last year's AnglePalooza. IIRC, Mario Logan wrote it. Edit: Everything is now in except SJ's promo. Edited February 28, 2006 by Tony149
Dr. Zoidberg 0 Report post Posted February 28, 2006 I'm sorry, guys. My match was balls-out Sucktacular. I need to free up some time to write.
Ed Wood Caulfield 0 Report post Posted February 28, 2006 King Cucaracha, kudos on the 24/7 Title Match! I loved it! You really did a good job with PRL. I'm impressed! The only problem is that the ending was cut off. It ends just when PR is standing right behind Leon. Can somebody edit in the rest of the ending? The Mr. Boricua/Cuban Wall vs. Spanish Fly/Colombian Heat match has been edited in, and I am working on Vitamin X vs. John "Rock Hard" Brickston right now. So, that match should be sent later tonight. But I recommend you guys read the Boricua/Wall vs. Fly/Heat match. It's a good one, yo. I've skimmed some of the matches and I liked what I saw. The graphics were awesome as usual. The Iron Man Match looks sweet, I have to read that one in it's entirety. The X Games Match also looks sweet. I wasn't surprised that Zack Malibu won the HI-YAH Title, but I was surprise with the AngleMania like ending. I'm interested in seeing what happens next. I'll be sure to read more of the show later. Zero Hour looks like a good show, and it's made me even more excited for AngleMania in April. I can't wait for it.
Zack Malibu 0 Report post Posted February 28, 2006 The idea for the ending was somewhat based on the ending for Against All Odds, when Christian won the World Title. Being that everythings been peachy for The Upstarts, the fact that a wrench has been thrown into their plans leading into the biggest show of the year was made to be the feel good moment of the pay per view. And HOLY SHIT is that Alf match monster. I have to finish reading the show tomorrow during some downtime, because I had too much to do today to get it all in. Ed Wood Caulfield 0 Report post Posted March 1, 2006 Vitamin X vs. John "Rock Hard" Brickston No Disqualification Match has...been...SENT~! Now all's that left is for Tony to edit it in. That's all. Now, I've sent in everything I needed to for Zero Hour. Phew. I'm beat. I'm gonna go take a nap.
King Cucaracha 0 Report post Posted March 3, 2006 Fuck placeholders! "HI-YAH ZACK ATTACK!" would have made me shoot milk through my nose had I been drinking milk at the time...and, if my life were either a bad comedy movie or a lame U.S sitcom. But, funny anyway. Also, confession time...I've never seen an episode of 24. Anytime you do a Scrubs parody, call me. To quote Patty, "That's my america for these fat motherfuckers!" And that's exactly my thoughts on the Tag Title Match. Fortunate that I'm so highly educated that I can understand what was going on, then. Fun match as usual from Patty, although after a while it seemed like everything was getting countered. That aside, enjoyable stuff and "frank n'beans" was the best decription of that area in the history of the OAOAST. The Heartland 4 Way was a bit of a clusterfuck to start with, but it really picked up after Team Heyross got eliminated. TK/Reject was great though and I sense that wasn't the end of it somehow. Fun little tag match. Count me in as surprised that Faqu and Blonde went over, I guess Zack must have something in mind for them if he's putting them over The GPX and in such quick time. I think it worked though. Oh boy. I'm not gonna get into MOTY debates in FEBRUARY, PEOPLE but I think we have a contender for longest match at least. Very interesting stipulation. Not sure what happened with the First Blood fall, because all of a sudden Brock is 2-0 up with no warning or explanation. Odd. What if First Blood came up and both guys were already bleeding? Hmm. I love how the match swings from stip to stip and suddenly, we go from a submission war to old school wrestling to a stretcher match. The FCA fall was typically mad. Fantastic match and a really great ending with the fakeout on Alfdogg somehow tying the match at the end after all. Thumbs way up. Uh, stuff happens with Ragdoll and Ken and Jasmine and Josie. Yeah. The LC/anti-LC tag match was good stuff. X being god damn annoying was fun and again, it's good feud build up from EWC. DEF JAM VENDETTA TIME! Or, X Games, whatever, same vibe same thing. Proud to say I came up with the stip (well, the premise at least), but credit should go to Parka for carrying it off really well. I loved Tony Hawk on commentary, all good stuff. Liked the story of Parka winning the crowd over and/or O'Hara losing them. My match. Need I say more? Awesome! Very nice match with the Sooners and the Rockers. I feel justified in voting for Tony as Underrated Writer now because that was a very nice match. I'm kinda iffy on the finish personally, especially if The Heavenly Rockers are challenging The NNMX next and therefore need to be heels. The promo afterwards I guess makes up for it and it's leading to a Sooners heel turn I assume. And finally, kudoses to Zachary for his match. Did a fine job with Christian and the ending made the HI-YAH Title probably as important as it ever has, sans Axel/Ragdoll. Almost makes up for my months of doing jackshit with it. Almost.
