Talk about a title game that really means nothing in the grand scheme of things. Kansas vs Texas, means something to the Big 12 fans but for those of us just wanting to get to the selection show it's just a time filler.

Same with the Big 10 title game. About the only thing at stake here is whether Ohio State is the last 1 seed or the first 2 seed.

What's good about knowing the last two games don't really matter is that there's no last minute worrying if a bubble gets burst by a junk team winning the tournament and forcing a last minute change.

 

Right now, I'm sure the field is locked in as the final games shouldn't alter the field.

I talked to John on more than one occasion and he was actually extremely pleasant and nice to me. Course I always addressed him as Mr. Chaney. One thing I realized about him is if you even mildly try to get on his bad side, you get on his REALLY bad side. He doesn't have a slightly annoyed side. He's either a pleasant interview or pissed off to the point you think he's going to gut you. My poor intern never came back after making that call.

Oh yeah, I view the Big 10 Championship Game for a bit, and Packer shoots off his big fucking mouth, again. This time he was talking about how Memphis shouldn't even be in consideration for a 1 seed. His reasoning, there should be a 5 year evaluation performance evaluation period before you can even sniff one, and that the big 6 conferences control these seedings.

The thing with Chaney is this. When his team loses, he is just beyond miserable. And his last few seasons, the kids he was bringing in just were players that were raw talent that just failed to learn the system. Some flat out refused too which really made him an angry man..well, more so than usual. I felt like the way things were going at Temple that he needed to retire two years ago.

He just had crossed a line in sanity, he was becoming angry and bitter all the time and I knew lots of the reasons why. There is a lot of stuff ESPN and other places just didn't talk about at Temple involving his players. It was just a total wreck. Huggins coming in isn't going to make matters better, it's going to turn Temple into THUGVILLE which is where it was headed anyway.

Packer is still bitter about St. Joseph's 2 years ago and Martelli going off on him.

 

2Gold, I have to agree with you about Chaney. Ever since that Ingram episode last year against St. Joe's, it just seems that he's seriously needed to retire. I also heard that he wasn't too happy about Temple joining the MAC for football because of the agreement that Temple basketball would play some MAC teams as well, since then Chaney wouldn't be able to make his usual gauntlet of a schedule.

I still have Texas being dunked in round 1, unless they get a different draw than I'm expecting. What they are getting now, I can see them being the upset special.
