naiwf 0 Report post Posted March 9, 2006 That was a really stupid play by Roberts and Syracuse is going to implode right here. Ugh. Fucking Huskies.
Edwin MacPhisto 0 Report post Posted March 9, 2006 That was great. Diemendorf blocks the shot, makes a break, takes an outlet pass, and then takes it to the hoop with his offhand while juking completely around the UConn defender. I want to see that again. naiwf 0 Report post Posted March 9, 2006 McNamara twisting his ankle on that rebound just cost them the chance to win the game. This sucks.
therealworldschampion 0 Report post Posted March 9, 2006 GW can forget any shot at a 2 seed, they have lost to Temple.

2GOLD 0 Report post Posted March 9, 2006 Clemson blew a 15 point lead to Miami and ended up losing. And with the A-10 now officially sending two teams thanks to the GW choke job, somebody's bubble just got popped. Cuse up three and looks like they might lock in a bid here in a minute. ETA: Pretty sure Florida St and Maryland are now dead unless they win the whole ACC tournament. So they are both dead.
2GOLD 0 Report post Posted March 9, 2006 You MORON! Why the flying hell would you go for a lay-up when you can just pull back and waste clock?!?! ETA: Cuse win it and are in, I can't see them not being in now.
iggymcfly 0 Report post Posted March 9, 2006 And it's over! Syracuse wins!
Edwin MacPhisto 0 Report post Posted March 9, 2006 Unbelievable. That was fucking great. Syracuse, welcome to your 10 seed.
naiwf 0 Report post Posted March 9, 2006 Thank God that blown lay up didn't kill Syracuse there. But, that McNamara kid really fucking sucks and doesn't deserve his scholarship [/sarcasm]
therealworldschampion 0 Report post Posted March 9, 2006 If Nova wins the tourney, they're going to get the #1 seed in the Washington D.C. regional. Syracuse is definitely in now.
iggymcfly 0 Report post Posted March 9, 2006 Great, great game there. Syracuse is really coming on at the end of the season, and I could see them making the same kind of run that West Virginia did last year going into the tournament. McNamara just won't let them lose when it really matters.
Guest Princess Leena Report post Posted March 9, 2006 Syracuse would have had no chance of winning without Gerry's 21% shooting today. Just saying.
iggymcfly 0 Report post Posted March 9, 2006 Syracuse would have had no chance of winning without Gerry's 21% shooting today. Just saying. Did you watch the game? He had 13 assists including about 4 or 5 passes that no one else on that team could have made. He didn't make all the shots, but he made the offense go, and he hit the three at the end that absolutely had to go down.
therealworldschampion 0 Report post Posted March 9, 2006 Florida State definitely needs to win today against Wake, and maybe needs to beat NC State tomorrow as well to feel safe.

Edwin MacPhisto 0 Report post Posted March 9, 2006 The bubble is shrinking very quickly. I wonder how much damage GW's loss does to Hofstra and George Mason in the CAA. That tourney probably worked out as well as it could for the conference, they've got both be getting close to out at this point.

That tourney probably worked out as well as it could for the conference, they've got both be getting close to out at this point. You're right. Now there is almost no way that the CAA gets 3 teams in. For that to happen, Maryland has got to lose to the YellowJackets later today, and Texas A&M has to get blown out tomorrow. Not to mention that the Cal farce has to end tonight or tomorrow by somebody in the Pac 10. And it would help immensly for Flordia State to get knocked out too. Otherwise, the CAA is going to get screwed, big time. Figures the ONE time I'm cheering for Cuse to lose, Mcnamara shows his true colors, and confirms how great of college ball player he really is. Jimmy B. is totally vindicated for his apeshit rant yesterday. At this point, all I got to say is, Go Nova!! You can enter the tournament as the number 1 team in the nation! therealworldschampion 0 Report post Posted March 9, 2006 Saint Joseph's is up big on Saint Louis near the end of the first half. If St. Joe's wins this game, it'll be a Philly matchup for the right to go to the A-10 finals between St. Joe's and Temple.

You mixed it up a bit--Maryland hits Georgia Tech, and Florida State plays Wake in the opener. I don't know why people are still touting Maryland as a possible tournament team; I don't think they've been in it since they picked up the 8th conference loss. They're not a threat to anyone's spot unless they get to the ACC final. FSU beats Wake and I think they're in, as 10 total ACC wins--one of which is over Duke--should be enough. Mid-majors and high-majors always get screwed, and I think the committee will be much more likely to take that 5th ACC team than a 5th MVC team.

Nah, I think you missed this one. Leena's on the anti-Gerry bandwagon, and she's saying he actually hurt the team by missing shots earlier, while sarcastically defending him. I was just pointing out the error of her ways. Moving on, I think that between the 'Cuse and GW games earlier, Hofstra's fucked now. Texas A&M and Florida State also probably need wins in their respective tournaments to avoid dropping out of the bracket.
2GOLD 0 Report post Posted March 9, 2006 The problem is the Big East is getting nine bids now, which probably means the ACC will only get four. Florida St. is winning by eight over Wake at the half and while I think 20 wins with 10 wins in the ACC should put them in, I don't know. Someone really needs to explain to me how Cincy is in. I still am not getting how a team with an 19-12 record is locked in and not bubble bouncing like the rest of the teams out there.

In all honesty I have Maryland out in the cold, as they should be. But losing tonight will end any hopes they may have. Gary acutally thinks that if he beats Tech tonight and Boston College (It's so wrong to see them in Greensboro, and not in NYC.) tomorrow he's going to get a bid. I can't wait to see his face when he doesn't. FSU HAS to lose tonight or they're a lock. No way they get left out after their win over G...I mean Duke. And I have to add this note. Nevada winning the WAC becomes critical, or the bubble will literally explode on somebody. Iggy: Hofstra probably is fucked, but the Skinn thing may come back to screw George Mason instead of Hofstra. And if Nevada loses...both may be screwed. Yeah, that's what I was thinking. As far as I'm concerned George Mason's hopes ended as soon as the suspension was announced. Unless every game goes perfect, (FSU and A&M both lose, every lower conference team capable of getting an at large wins their conference), the CAA's going to be a one-bid league. Guest Princess Leena Report post Posted March 9, 2006 It's semi-sarcasm with Gerry, for me. I can't deny he's a big moment player. If it wasn't for him against Kansas, Syracuse would not have a national title. He shot the lights out against BYU to salvage the next season. And the running 3 he hit against Cincy was very clutch. But... he can also annoy the heck out of you with the amount of bad shots and no-hope drive attempts he tries. I know he tries to be the team leader... but, he's just not good enough to be that. Was a great supporting player, though.
