Jim Boeheim goes apeshit on ESPN. He goes on record and says that without Mcnamara, his team wouldn't win 10 fucking games this year. Calling all the papers (including the student paper), and assisstant coaches (Who he says, will never be Head Coaches.) full of bullshit.

Draw your own conclusions people.

Somebody cracked under the pressure. That or he just had enough of his kids taking shots from people when none of them have deserved it.

And Cinn should not be in the NCAA tournament. 12 losses to me is an automatic "bubble burst". Maryland's bubble burst when they lost to Florida St. and the Noles took their spot.

The Big East should get six bids at the most.

I hope they get a better seed than OU. :P

Well seems how they're tied for first in the conference and OU is #3 in the conference AND they beat OU in a head to head match up they should get a better seed or something is wrong.

Not necessarily. OU is 12 in the RPI, where Kansas is in the 30's. All on strength of schedule.

Then why did you say you wanted Kansas to get a higher seed if you don't think they deserve it? Sheesh make up your mind.

You're going to be very dissapointed on Selection Sunday. I can gurantee you this, 99%. Escpecially, if the Mid-Major screwjob does happen.

Oh I know the selection committee is going to do some major league big school and conference ass kissing, doesn't mean I agree with it.

I'm sure Cincy, Maryland, Cuse, Kentucky, Indiana, and Alabama will all find their way in somehow. I have no idea how, but I'm almost positive all of them will be let in the door.

No. I definitely think Kansas is the better team. I was just pointing out why OU may likely get the higher seed. Or, both get like a 5-6 seed.

Most of them will. I'd say Kentucky, Indiana and Alabama are likely in. First three, not so sure. And I don't see any chance of 9 Big East teams getting in.

Leena at the end of the day it's a question of drawing money. Let's face it, the Hofstras, Bradleys, and George Masons of the world don't exactly draw money. And quite honestly, I don't care how shitty UK is this year they would beat any of those JTTS teams by double digits.

As far as Cincy goes, with an RPI of 32 they'd still have to be in. Cuse is 43 I think so they are much more dubious. If they can creep into the top 40 they have a real shot.

just heard the Boeheim interview.

Wow. He was pissed. I think a local/student newspaper called McNamara overrated, that's what pissed him off, and he said "We wouldn't have won 10 f'in games without him"

McNamara was like in total shock, they panned over to him and his head was down.

:)

The shot was amazing, it wasn't even a shot, it was a little runner from 21 feet, insane clutch factor.

G Mac is the most overrated players in the naiton. Let's be honest, Cuse fans wouldn't give him all that love unless he was white. Moten, Wallace, and Coleman just to name a few in semi recent history were way better and could carry the rest of the team. G Mac does not make his teammates better at all. He throws up junk 3's, some nights they go in, some nights they don't. Given SU recent sucess, Jimmy should be able to recuirt better than a 10 win season minus an above average point guard.

But, how much of a money factor is it if Kentucky gets in as a 12 seed, instead of Hofstra? The crowds usually aren't filled in the early round games, even when the biggest schools are there. And for the TV factor, I think more people are interested in seeing how the little schools will do... instead of a big school that's in a down year.

I don't agree that UK would blow out all mid-major teams. Just look at Northern Iowa and Houston winning at LSU... the best SEC team this year. At a neutral site, I give many of these bubble teams a great chance of knocking off UK.

I still think Cincy has a good shot of getting in, as long as no more upsets occur. But, I wouldn't put them ahead of a Maryland, especially if they win a game or two in the ACC tourney.

I agree. Even on the white statement.

Boeheim was just defending his senior, and team leader. I can't blame him for doing so.

Can we hold Louisville under 10 points for the half.

20 for the game...is that even possible. This is insane, we've contested EVERY shot, it's just ugly :)

This is an f'in statement though.

We're playing football. And still blowing them out 5 td's to 1 :)

The worst part is the points Louisville HAS gotten were TOUGH shots, that might not have gone in anyway, it's important that we're contesting every single shot, especially when we play W. Virginia for the 3rd time tomorrow.

Man, they got some quick 9 points in the last 2 minutes, which they shouldn't have gotten. Hope Pitt can keep playing this tough :)

Ouch... that's a bad loss for Seton Hall. They were one of the best stories this year with how that team turned it around this year. Really like their little PG, too... would have been fun to see what he could have done in the tourney. Big East bids are jumbled up now.

They'll still probably get in due to the win at Pitt last week, but they need to root for Bucknell and GW to get their auto-bids.

You know, I would love to see Kentucky aganist anyone of those teams. Cause I would take a modest wager ($20) on anyone of those 3 teams aganist Kentucky if they made it to the NCAAs and happened to meet up with them.

from 35-7 to 48-38.

I dont think 'Ville has enough in the tank right now but even to get 10 pts near Pitt was impressive enough.

edit: wow. I still don't think they will pull it off but come 3 pts away...is remarkable.

I almost had a seizure the 3rd 10 minutes of that game.

They like totally stopped playing defense, and there was a string of 3 minutes that every call went against Pitt.

Bad combination. Need to never let up, but in a way I'm glad that happened, learn a lesson maybe.

Interesting day in the Big East. I still think Cincinnati's getting in, but a strong showing against UConn could give Syracuse Seton Hall's spot on the bubble depending on how much the committee cares about RPI. There's also Seton Hall beating Pitt while DePaul thumped 'Cuse. 9-7 Big East plus that huge win at N.C. State is going to make it very hard to say no to Seton Hall, though.

And hey, go Monmouth! The Hawks upset Fairleigh Dickinson on a last-second layup to grab the Northeast Conference's auto bid. I'm fond of Monmouth, since it was the closest college to me when I lived in New Jersey, and I always rooted for them to make the tourney. The NEC is a solid traditional provider of 16 seeds, so they'll probably have the honor of getting pounded by Villanova in a week's time.

G Mac is one of the most clutch players in the naiton. Let's be honest, Cuse fans wouldn't give him all that love if he hadn't made 6 threes in the national championship game as a freshman, singlehandedly leading the Orangemen to the biggest win in school history.

Fixed your post.

Interesting game right now in the Big East tourney. Syracuse is up 22-12 on UConn with about 8:00 left in the first half. "Selfish" McNamara has 3 points, 6 assists, and no turnovers.

I hope the 'Cuse hold on since I've always been a big fan of Boeheim and I hate Calhoun, but I think UConn will make a run and take the lead some time within the next 10 minutes of game action.

UConn cut it to 5. Damn them for putting the most meaningful game at 10am.
