2GOLD 0 Report post Posted February 28, 2006 They should have had Mean Gene hosting the show, and then surprise him by inducting him without even letting him know about it, much like WCW did with Gordon Solie. Solie knew ahead of time what was going to happen. Apart from Hunter, the heel, burying Cena, the babyface, was there anything else of interest on Raw? Candice Michelle DIDN'T win a belt. I consider that a plus. RVD's "I'm over" suit was pretty funny. Cena's HHH impression was pretty damn good. After that, I got nothing. It was a RAW that was just kinda there. Just the push to Wrestlemania show with Foley announcing he'll have the same damn match at Mania he ALWAYS has at Mania. I mean, what was the difference? That the lead singer of Puddle of Mudd will be fighting him?

Silence 0 Report post Posted February 28, 2006 Yeah, it will really help Cena's career to put over HHH as the "King of Kings." Remember when faces made fun of heels for their bullshit? That died year ago. It died oh, about the time The Aardvark of Aardvarks came to prominence. The same thing happened with Booker T and HHH in 2003, with Booker T, the face, putting over the heel, HHH, during a promo about how Booker T's "people" don't become World Champions. Gary Floyd 0 Report post Posted February 28, 2006 Alternate title for tonights show: "Raw os Bisexual Porn" and "No Pants in Hell." Anyways, yet another horrible Raw The good -Flair vs. Carlito was allright. Plus, I marked out at Flair winning -The crowd was awesome. -Mickie James. I'm really enjoying her more each week. The bad -The final segment. What is the point of all of this? It was one of the worst things on Raw in quite a while. Plus, did we really need to see constant shots of Shawn's face being buried in Vince's ass? -The HHH/Cena segment. This was great only for the fact that it was such a trainwreck. Plus, the crowd shit all over it. -Foley vs. Edge. Honestly Mick, just stick with being an author, and stay away. -Candice. -Coach. I really can't stand listening to this guy. -CANDICE IN PLAYBOY!!!! OMG!!!! Vince must think every wrestling fan on Earth is a virgin. The rest was just sort of "meh."

Solie knew ahead of time what was going to happen. Are you sure? I've heard for years that he was inducted and it was a total surprise to him. Did he correct that in his book or something? Solie had been unhappy with the product for some time, and he was very unhappy about John Studd being inducted into the HoF. WCW weren't sure what Solie's reaction would be if they sprung it on him as a surprise so they told him ahead of time.

Danville_Wrestling 0 Report post Posted February 28, 2006 Styles is becoming WWE-ized and I don't like it one bit, sirs and ladies. I totally agree with you but it's not like the guy has any other choice. However, it'd be hilarious if he just said to hell with it sooner or later and called stuff how he saw it for one evening. cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted February 28, 2006 I'm somewhat relieved that now the MITB is going to be RVD/Shelton/Flair and whoever else. I'm assuming guys from SD, but since the show was taped before Raw they didn't do any qualifiers. Carlito and Masters neither one really need to be in the MITB. As I said in previous threads, they can certainly go after the tag belts and win them at WM, especially since Big Show and Kane really have no feud right now. With this lineup, they pretty much have to have RVD win it. None of the SD jobbers would have a hope in hell (Matt? Finlay? Lashley?) of winning, and Shelton/Flair cancel each other out. Man, was that HHH/Cena segment a train wreck or what? HHH burying Cena is like shooting fish in a barrel, it's too easy. After WM and the inevitable Backlash rematch they seriously need to depush Cena for a while and let him try and regain some heat. Cause man, right now it ain't pretty. And frankly I don't think HHH is going to turn face, so it's just going to be a flat out burial. Cena isn't getting standard heel heat here, it's flat out "This guy sucks" heat. 2GOLD 0 Report post Posted February 28, 2006 Carlito and Flair will probably end up fighting at SNME for the spot in the MITB. If not, then we have to go through Kane/Show vs Masters/Carlito at Mania again. And the crowd has turned on Foley because they know this song and dance. He comes back, loses and leaves till Mania time the next year. It's stale and old. It's like the Repo Man showing up and challenging someone to a match on PPV. No one believes he can win so why bother reacting to him?

jester 0 Report post Posted February 28, 2006 Yesssssssss, allow the Foley hate to overcome you all... It ain't a new thing for me. I've read his books, and liked them, but they're way overpraised, as are his theories on wrestling. He recent WWE appearances and his bold, company-sanitized "criticism" is absolutely sickening. cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted February 28, 2006 Thing is, I really want to see Flair in the MITB along with Shelton to continue that feud. Carlito by himself without Masters really has no point being in the match. And Masters has no WM match at that point, so in other words just do the tag match and this time they'll add in that Big Show/Kane friction I mentioned on page 1, and voila. After all this jobbing Carlito has done there is no way anyone would take him seriously if he managed to worm his way into the MITB and win the match. Also, why would Flair put his MITB spot on the line? The Dirtiest Player in the Game wouldn't be that stupid, particularly after his mention of wanting that one last title. Not to mention he likely saw what happened when Rey put his spot on the line.
Hunter's Torn Quad 0 Report post Posted February 28, 2006 Todd Martin's final thoughts on Raw from his review at the Observer site: "The only thing this promotion can do competently anymore is soothe the egos of its owners and bury wrestlers who threaten the spots of their chosen few. slimm44 0 Report post Posted February 28, 2006 I'm starting to see a pattern when they tape Supershows, which makes me glad Im not going to the one in Memphis next month. They seem to just drag on as the night goes on with nothing major happening. Cena-HHH was good for about 90 seconds. Ending it with Vince's SNME announcement was really poor hype. Everything else was blah, and why is the MITB match a triple threat this year (so far)

They seem to just drag on as the night goes on with nothing major happening. I think what really hurt tonight was that we all knew what the last half hour of the show was going to be, and no one was looking forward to it. The place started filing out after Flair and Carlito. I still recommend going to one though, because its a fun experience, and its kind of amazing to see the little things they do in the arena to make Smackdown look like the B Show. Enigma 0 Report post Posted February 28, 2006 That was pretty awesome when HHH snuck in the dig at Cena about him not being a very good wrestler. Orton's run-in was very out-of-nowhere, but where can they go with this thing against Chavo? The only thing I can think of is if Orton requests to be removed from the main event of Saturday Night's Main Event to face Chavo in a singles match. Like an earlier poster said, I hope Vince comes to his senses and does McMahons vs. Rockers instead of just Shawn vs. Vince at WM22. That match would seriously blow and be a total waste of HBK at Mania. And does anyone know Marty's status with WWE? Is he back full-time like Tatanka or is this just a temporary thing to move Vince vs. HBK along like last year with HBK vs. Angle?
