Guest nokia Report post Posted March 2, 2006 Ring of Honor dropped Jay Lethal from all future bookings after writing him out last weekend at the Fourth Anniversary event in Edison, New Jersey. Lethal had lost clean to Samoa Joe at the show. ROH sources confirmed this morning that Lethal was done with the company, although one source commented, "for now." PWInsider.com will have more on the story later today. link; http://www.pwinsider.com/ViewArticle.asp?id=16636&p=1 * Any thoughts on this ?
Guest shark boy super fan Report post Posted March 2, 2006 Bad for ring of honor- lost another good talent good for lethal- pro wrestling elite and japw said they will book him on all upcoming shows plus he also works for TNA so he has a national outlet to expose his talents plus he didn't need ROH. bob_barron 0 Report post Posted March 2, 2006 I think the biggest thing is the loss of Jay Lethal's mom
Eclipse 0 Report post Posted March 2, 2006 So that's why I heard that his last match with Samoa Joe was just a clean pin on Lethal. I think they have misused him in his entire run in ROH. The only time he was being used for something meaningful was his recent heel turn. Hell, fuck it, I bet TNA is paying him WAY MORE and hell, he gets to be on TV. ROH's product, IMO, hasn't been for a while....
Mystery Eskimo 0 Report post Posted March 2, 2006 Its no loss to ROH. He's solid enough in the ring but nothing extraordinary and his promos are terrible. It opens a roster spot for someone to try and step up to.
Jingus 0 Report post Posted March 2, 2006 The more pertinent issue: why was he fired? I can only think of two others who were actually fired by ROH, and those cases both involved pedophilia.
Hawk 34 0 Report post Posted March 2, 2006 People mixed up the term "not using anymore" with "fired". You can't fire someone, who isn't under contract. ROH has stopped using many wrestlers before, PWI made up the "fired" headline to make it more senstational. This is hardly damaging to ROH. It was the right move, ROH always makes sure to keep it's roster fresh. People come in and then they get phased out, it's business. Lethal, wasn't really all that special for ROH. He's a decent talent but not neccesarily someone who was needed (as Dragon, Joe, Aries are). BTW, ROH also cut Azrieal. Still believe it's an TNA bias? DangerousDamon 0 Report post Posted March 2, 2006 According to Dave Meltzer, TNA is working to finalize Team UK for the X Cup this week as Doug Williams, Nigel McGuiness, Jonny Storm and Jody Fleisch. This team pleases me. No, it's a Special K bias Rinauro and Lacey better watch their backs then.

In roh, that's basically pulling a HHH on the promotion. Since Gabe doesn't have a daughter.

It's really a non-issue.
Guest Tuxedo Mask Report post Posted March 2, 2006 As someone said, PWI is sensationalizing the situation. The first headline was something along the lines of "Jay Lethal no longer working for ROH". It was changed a few minutes later to "Jay Lethal Fired".

LucharesuFan619 0 Report post Posted March 4, 2006 I can't believe people are saying Lethal isn't anything special in the ring. He - along with Mike Quackenbush and maybe one or two others - are the only TRUE babyfaces that you can find anymore. I could watch Jay Lethal matches all day and not get bored. The guy is everything a babyface should be. And for whoever said "his promos are terrible"--are you a Roderick Strong fan? Because Roderick Strong's promos are ten times worse than Lethal's. Lethal>almost anyone else on the indy circuit.
King Cucaracha 0 Report post Posted March 4, 2006 The more pertinent issue: why was he fired? I can only think of two others who were actually fired by ROH, and those cases both involved pedophilia. The fired issue has been dealt with. As far as why he's not working ROH anymore, my guess he doesn't want to end up like a certain Austin Aries and a certain Roderick Strong when it comes to TNA pushes. Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted March 7, 2006 I like Jay well enough, but I've never seen him as a top guy, despite how ROH's been booking him lately.
