College Hoops: NCAA Tournament Rounds 1 and 2

Recommended Posts

Ok, this "unexperienced" UNC team beat Duke, in Duke, on senior night. I think they can handle the NCAA tourney.

Are you saying they're not inexperienced? How many of them played a role in the team last year?

I'm not saying there experienced, I'm just saying there unexperience obviously isn't that bad if they can beat the number one team in the country on the road on senior night.

The only loss I have had that hurts me is the Iowa game. Had them in the Sweet sixteen. Other then that Any game I had wrong they were losing in the 2nd round.

This year I am doing horrible, and last year I was perfect on the first day.

Yeah, Bradley is gonna win this. Pretty amazing that the 5th best MVC team could beat the best Big 12 team. I blame Dama.

So how did everyone do overal today? If I lookd at the games right I think I went 12-4 and the only sweet sixteen team I've lost is Iowa. Overal from both days I'm 25-7.

I only have 4 Sweet 16 teams out (those are Southern Illinois, Kansas, Marquette, and Michigan State). I'm barely getting by.

I need to know the schedule for tomorrow.

If you go back to the beginning of the thread I think I called that Bradley upset of Kansas. I knew Kansas wasn't much, and likely was still getting over the Big 12 tourney.

That said, I wouldn't call the MVC a power league yet. Wichita St. killed a shitty Seton Hall, but SIU got maimed by WVU today. Also, that G'Town vs. N. Iowa game was one of the worst games in the history of the universe.

I'm glad to be rid of some of these ultra stale major teams though. Let's face it, did the world really need Kansas going anywhere, or Michigan St.?

Only lost one S16 team so far (Seton Hall). Don't know what I was thinking looking back at that one. Anyway, I missed 6 other first round picks, but I had all of them losing in the next round anyway, so no biggie. I also called Bradley over Kansas.

Ugh, Kansas. I should have known that they would find some way yet again to choke in the Tournament, and they didn't let me down.

Umm no. Pretty sure Texas won last night. And really, once they got healthy, Bradley was probably the 2nd best MVC squad, so it's a pretty even matchup as far as conference postion. I actually had Bradley over Kansas to begin with, and then I decided that I was fishing for upsets too much and changed it.

I ended up doing pretty shitty in the first round (22 for 32), but I've still got most of my 2nd round picks, and all of my 3rd round picks, so I won't sweat it too much. Especially considering that I'll slay all the UConn sheep when Duke kicks their ass in Indianapolis.

Damn I lost a final four team in Kansas. Fuck you KU for tricking me!

So UConn, Nova, tOSU, and Texas all struggle yesterday? Is UCLA the only 1/2 seed that looked awesome?

There's a difference between getting up for the tournament and playing at a high level every night. If these MvC teams were in a big conference they'd still struggle b/c they have to play like they do in the tournament every night to compete.

I think they've proven throughout the season that they can play with anybody. Now it's just a matter of scheduling teams so that the MVC can prove it, and leave no doubt.

It warms my heart to see KU go one-and-done for the second straight year.

Even funnier is the fact that, for this moment at least, they are not the best basketball team in Kansas.

I just realized that I had picked Kansas to go to the elite 8. Ugh, I don't know what the hell I was smoking.

I think what happened was a lot of people saw the run they made at the end of the season, heard the name Kansas, and went "Oh well they should do well" and we all forgot that they start 3 freshmen and 2 sophomores and that they started the season 3-4.
