Downhome Posted March 19, 2006 Report Posted March 19, 2006 Good news everyone! From the Billy West forum: http://www.billywest.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=2011&PN=1 I'm thisclose to selling my show--''Billy Bastard--Amateur Human Being,'' And the other good news is that they're doing 26 new episodes of ''Futurama'' for TV and we're hammering out the deal now.The original plan was to have the DVD's first but that's no longer the case. I'm totaly jammed dude. Greetings from the year 3000! It still sucks! Billy
Spaceman Spiff Posted March 19, 2006 Report Posted March 19, 2006 Sweet. It'll be interesting to see where they air, though. Fox? Adult Swim?
Guest Smues Posted March 19, 2006 Report Posted March 19, 2006 First Family Guy now this, why can't they ever bring back a show I watch.
Dr. Zaius Posted March 19, 2006 Report Posted March 19, 2006 While I've enjoyed the few episodes I've seen, "Futurama" was not as insanely popular as "Family Guy" is. Can it really make it this time?
Downhome Posted March 19, 2006 Author Report Posted March 19, 2006 While Futurama is not as funny to me as something like Family Guy, I do think that it's a much better overall show. I'd place it above all of the other shows in the same group, including The Simpsons.
Downhome Posted March 19, 2006 Author Report Posted March 19, 2006 Hey, The Simpsons is far from consistently great, but it's still a great show. The episode last week is easily in my top ten ever for the show.
cbacon Posted March 20, 2006 Report Posted March 20, 2006 The Simpsons hasn't resembled anything close to "great" in 8 or 9 years. Glad to hear about the Futurama news though. It should have been the successor The Simpsons.
Richard Posted March 20, 2006 Report Posted March 20, 2006 If it returns, people will turn on it like they did family guy, or ren & stimpy, or Doug, or Rugrats. Hell even the Fox episodes of the Critic weren't as good as the original.
Damaramu Posted March 20, 2006 Report Posted March 20, 2006 I like the new Simpsons but not as much as the old Simpsons. But I'm not a hater or anything. But why can't they go back to being the normal American family with real problems? Why does something fantastic have to happen, or they go on a trip, or meet a celebrity? And why does everyone in town know each other?
Special K Posted March 20, 2006 Report Posted March 20, 2006 People hate on the Family Guy because it went way downhill. Man, I just watched the Stewie Griffin story, and it had like 3 good laughs. And that show used to be downright hilarious. Simpsons has obviously gone way downhill. I think they should end it, and really invest themselves in writing a movie or something for a grand sendoff. It's been on the air for so long now, there's as many good seasons as bad.
Slayer Posted March 20, 2006 Report Posted March 20, 2006 If it returns, people will turn on it like they did family guy, or ren & stimpy, or Doug. People turning on those certainly had nothing to do with their downturn in quality and how does Rugrats fit on your list?
bobobrazil1984 Posted March 20, 2006 Report Posted March 20, 2006 New Futurama? FUCK YES! Seriously, FUCK YES! I wonder where it will air? I hope Cartoon Network. This'll be, what, the 4th recently cancelled FOX show which has forged some sort of comeback?
muzz Posted March 20, 2006 Report Posted March 20, 2006 I hope this revival goes the distance, and I think it will. It doesn't stretch for over the top hilarity, and keeps a down to earth story going.
Spaceman Spiff Posted March 20, 2006 Report Posted March 20, 2006 http://www.billywest.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=2020&PN=1 Looks like Billy jumped the gun on those rumors. No series.
The Czech Republic Posted March 20, 2006 Report Posted March 20, 2006 I've never once said "I want to watch Futurama." When I watched it, it was only as the result of a pitiful lack of willpower and rationale to do anything else better at the time.
