I'm hearing rumors all over the net about Cheadle in talks to play the jazz legend Miles Davis.

I would be the 1st person in line to see this. Don Cheadle is my favorite actor, and I think he'd do a great job as Mile Davis. Oscar worthy for sure.

I'm kind of tired of these musical bio-pics. I'm sure Cheadle could pull it off, it's just bad timing right now.

I agree, but at the same time I'm dieing to see a Miles Davis film(I also would love to see a Marvin Gaye film), and Don Cheadle in a lead role.

Maybe this means he can take a year off from those awful NFL playoff commercials.

I think he may not even get a nod if the movie was to come out in time for the Oscars next year. Since they nosed Phoenix out of an Oscar because of "Ray", I can see them screwing over Don because of both movies.

That being said, I'd see it. I love the music of Miles Davis and I respect the work of Don. It would be a win win for me. Course, I'd also have to know who was writing the film and how Miles would be portrayed.

this wouldn't be a hollywood classic. there's no way to really glorify miles as a person. he was a mean motherfucker. people liked walk the line because cash was the "everyman". people like ray because he was the blind dude who thrived against adversity. miles davis was a black jazzman who beat his wives to a pulp & tried to make his white sidemen suck cock. he treated everyoen in his life horribly. no one was exempt. people say he was racist & mysogonist. but i think he hated all mankind equally.

If you're saying he surrounded himself with shitty white musicians to prove a point about black superiority, that's not true. John McLaughlin, Dave Holland, all those guys were good. I think he was pretty egalitarian in terms of sidemen. "I don't care if you're black or white or purple as long as you can swing," that whole deal. Unless you're saying he forced them to literally fellate him, which is a seedy underbelly that not even this jazz band art fag knew about.
