The Pit and the Pendulum-

Nothing against the Vincent Price version but it just didn't capture anything I loved about the Poe short story. The ending with the Pendulum just felt like a last minute tack on so they could name it what they did. I've seen a few recreations and they just try to do too much. It's a simple story that could be made into an outstanding character driven piece.

The Raven-

Again, it made no sense to call it the Raven when it really had zero to do with the story. They tried to make one in 2003 but the story just fell extremely flat to me. I loved the campy silliness of the Price version but it just wasn't about the Poe story at all. Again, tacking something on so Price could fufill his "star in every movie featuring a Poe title".

They are two films that could have been so much better with a less is more understanding. Single, character driven stories without too much crazed backstory.

I'd remake "Lifeforce". I like the original (which was directed by Tobe Hooper), but it makes little if any sense. I think a remake would be fine.

Heh, there could be another marine training movie with R. Lee Ermey except this time it's the entire movie and not just the 1st hour (followed by a boring 2nd hour).

I have thought for a while that someone should do a remake of The Prisoner of Zenda. We're due for one anytime now. It'd probably draw better than Count of Monte Cristo did since it's more lighthearted. Give me Viggo Mortensen as Rassendyll and Johnny Depp as Rupert of Hentzau and that'd rock.

Episode II: Attack of the Clones.

The biggest problem with that movie (besides no chemistry between the leads and horrible dialogue) was that George didn't let Hayden play Anakin with too much emotion, untill one scene where his motehr was killed. I'd let Anakin be more emotional to show how he truly was a non-ideal Jedi. And I'd hire someone to re-write the dialogue.

Let's please avoid the temptation to turn this into another "bitch about how disappointing the Star Wars prequels were" thread.

No one would join the Marine Corps then. Like, if they actually showed what really goes on.

Grapes of Wrath...granted the Ford original is a "classic", but, there are so many darker corners that could be done now. Plus, the soundtrack could kick ass, all dusty and depressing.

TOM JOAD....Joquin Phoenix

REV CASEY...Williem DaFoe

Ma Joad...Susan Surandon

Pa Joad....Paul Newman...

etc etc etc...

Have Eastwood direct.
