Si82 0 Report post Posted March 21, 2006 Only one more SD! until Mania and MNM still have no match. What are you waiting for, WWE? I don't want them to have a match at this point. Let them show up in the Undertaker match or something. I don't see them to take 8 minutes away from one of the other matches to have a heatless tag match for the sake of having a heatless tag match. Yeah, because those other matches scream quality. Seriously, why not throw an entertaining match out there in amongst the crap.

I really dont want to see another Mania 18 or 2000 where 8 million different matches are added for the sake of getting everyone on the show, and in the end, no one cares about any of six minute matches with jobbers and low midcarders. LJSexay 0 Report post Posted March 21, 2006 despite having the most amount of superstars EVER in one ppv... WM2000 was pretty awesome. WM2000 and X-Seven remain 2 of my all time favorite pay per views.

WM2000 and X-Seven remain 2 of my all time favorite pay per views. I don't think Mania2000 was bad, I just can't remember any of the low card matches. I forgot them all during the show. It wasn't a bad show, but I wouldnt consider it a particularly good Wrestlemania.
Black Lushus 0 Report post Posted March 21, 2006 the most I really remember from WM2000 was Pete Gas doing the manly blade job during the Hardcore deal and the cool visual of is whole face and little sweater vest covered in blood.

Guest wildpegasus Report post Posted March 21, 2006 Benoit vs Orton from Raw the night after Summerslam was the match of the year in 2004 though I could see someone preferring Benoit vs Kane from Monday Night Raw. I hope your joking, seriously hope you're jokin here.......Benoit / Michaels from 2/04 and then 5/04 would prrobably get my vote for Raw MOTY. Certainly picks that are well worthy. I have no problem with the Showdown in the Desert being the top pick of the year as it had a really great build in it only for that build to be annihilated in the end by HHH. Worthy pick. The first Benoit vs Michaels was a really nice match and you did see the potential between the two but it seemingly suffered from one wrestler wanting to take a match one way and the other wrestler not being able to do so. The match than lost a little bit of its direction. Still, I dispute nobody's picks for themselves but it's not quite my MOTY. HHH interference strikes once again to hurt the bout. I'm not the only on the Benoit vs Orton Raw bandwagon. There are actually quite a few people who are. See, I thought Benoit vs Kane and Benoit vs Orton from Raw( which were both better than their PPV matches) were both too brilliant to be denied. The Benoit vs Orton match in particular had everything -- very strong charactors that both had a purpose which was clearly visible in the ring, intensity and than some, heat, an awesome display at the beginning on how to keep a face control segment interesting, moves that fit the story they were telling so well (check out how Orton transistions to offence for the first time), it built off Summerslam movewise plus storywise and it even had an ending that made perfect sense. Just terrific, terrific wrestling. Awesome, superb flow that was just magical. I love it when all the wrestling puzzle pieces come together and create a terrific piece of art just like they did here. Benoit vs Kane from Raw was a great one too. Nice storytelling, believability, flow, smart transistions and a wicked climax to the end of their feud.
Fökai 0 Report post Posted March 22, 2006 They shouldn't have put Orton in the feud with Taker in the first place if they weren't going to have Orton go over. Orton was booked to go over at Mania. He wasn't. I had to go back and remember what happened, but Meltzer agrees with the story. He injured his shoulder a few weeks before the match, and once they found out the severity of the injury, which he had to have major surgery for after Mania, Dave said they had to go with Taker winning. Which is strange because I asked Dave about the story of Orton set to win as well, and he said he didn't think it was the plan. Didn't mention anything about them 'having to go with Taker winning'. He must have found something more out after talking to one of us, because we can't both be right.
