Listening to Ed Herman, I hope he gets his ass whipped. I havent see his previous 14 pro fights, but he looked like shit tonite. He didnt even hurt the little muslim guy. He's like all talk with very little power. It took him over 4 minutes to beat a guy that was a lot smaller, and had very little experience, all while doing it in unimpressive fashion.

I hope Matt wins the competition.

Herman even talked shit about Tito Ortiz.

Ortiz would destroy him.

These guys that are submission fighters but have very little power, arent championship material bc at the championship level, its much harder to put real experienced fighters into submissions. The experienced fighters dont usuually make those sorts of mistakes. I'd always lean towards the fighters with power that will eventually win championships.

I think if Ed fights Kendall, he'll be in big trouble.

Danny ROCKED Ed. If Danny learns grapple more, he has a future in MMA.

Then somebody needs to tell Danny that all that praying to Allah is pointless if he's not a Muslim.

My mistake, must've missed that part.

Danny doesn't seem like a muslin name though, I know a couple of people from Jordan who are muslims and they have more muslim like names.

Some people pick names that are more appropriate of the culture they live in, what a shock I know.

Danny should drop down to WW.

ALso, he's training with MFS so he should be a bad mother fucker in no time.

British Bisping and Canadian Kalib win this comp no problem. USA has all but two guys on the show, and those two end up winning hehe.

Damn, after tonight's episodes of UFC, I came away with one thought. These people cannot stop talking about themselves. Everyone just jerks themselves off the entire episode. Ed's was comically bad (I know I'm the best looking guy here; I have a heart bigger than what can fit inside my chest!) and Danny had me wanting to pull my hair out (I'm an Ultimate Fighter!!! The UFC saw what I got, the want me!!). Shut the fuck up!!! Not only that, but then I have to hear Royce talk shit and talk about the "house he built". Is anyone humble anymore? Christ. Let somone else shill for you once you've done something. Stop fucking shilling for yourself. These guys are all out there giving themselves nicknames. Pathetic.

I love me my Ed Herman, motherfuckers.

Ed took it easy on him, fought very cautiously, and still controlled most of the fight.

My favorite part was Bisping narrating his letter out loud for some reason. It was just so out of place.

Thats why I like the deaf guy the best. He comes off as the most humble.

Ed's by far the cockiest prick on the show.

It was so hilarious to hear Ed say "I'm a badass"....Maybe the producers tell these guys to themselves up in order to get people to dislike them. I dont know.

But I always pull for the badasses that dont talk shit, but rather let their work do the talking.

Tonite's episode I wanted both guys to lose.

No, when Ed gets a hold of the bottle, he's a 100% better soundbytes then Leben.

For a guy they built up as somewhat of a killing machine I've gotta say I was underwhelmed seeing Ed in the octagon for the first time. Like Brian said, he was probably fighting a smart fight because the MW semi's are going to be up soon and he didn't want to risk injury. It just looked to me like he was struggling to finish a guy with zero ground game who handed him an arm on a silver platter.

I'll give Ed the benefit of the doubt and write-off the performance to ring rust, as Dana did.

However, that being said, Kalib's going to roll through him with ease, though it's not even a garauntee Ed can take Kendall in the semis.

But it's just another reason why Bisping fucking rules it.

You could probably attribute it to Shamrock's "superb" conditioning program as well.

Danny's got some good quickness to him. Then again, I don't think I've ever seen a slow TKD specialist.

Ed's not a total newb, though. He still has a lot of time to train, and plenty of equipment and resources with which to do it...he shouldn't be in bad condition and I don't think Shamrock can take the blame for that. He could be rusty from lack of sparring and that would be Shamrock's fault totally...but not for Ed's bad cardio vascular condition.

This episode finally portrayed Shamrock in a somewhat sympathetic light, for the first time.

I though Ed heckling Tito about his legs was hilarious, as was Tito's reaction. You can tell that he really doesn't like it when somebody taunts him...which is funny considering the way he acts.

Not only that, but then I have to hear Royce talk shit and talk about the "house he built". Is anyone humble anymore?

I agree with you about everything and everybody except Royce. His family really did bring MMA to America, and they really did invent the UFC for all intents and purposes, so in that case he's telling the truth.

If you get a chance, I'd check out the book "No Holds Barred: Evolution" which really tells the story well, and it's much less biased than "Brawl" by Eric Krauss.

He looked none too pleased at the fact that EVERYBODY in the room, including Shammy and Dana White were laughing at his expense. Didn't he make some comment afterward basically saying he would be happy to fight Ed afterward? That didn't appear to be taking it in stride to me.

He made the rebuttal but looked noticeably pissed. Ed should have replied that having less weight in his legs makes up for the fact that the goodyear blimp is attached to his neck.

Heh. "It's a virtual planetoid! It has it's own weather system!" "That boy's head is like Sputnik, spherical yet quite pointy in parts."

"Douchebag"

"Wanker"

They all learn a lesson in the end.

I love this show. So very very much. I've been working on a blog entry about this show for a while now, and I make some grand claims about it.

I am so fucking hyped to see Matt fight.

Why is this show good? Did the format change really make it that much better?
