dubq 0 Report post Posted April 2, 2006 Sounds like it'll be similar to the X-Men Legends games... http://ps2.ign.com/articles/697/697137p1.html Snowblind Training Justice League Heroes Warner Bros. reveals new details and PSP plans for the comic-inspired RPG. by David Adams March 20, 2006 - Back in July, Warner Bros. Interactive announced plans to release an action-RPG based on comic hero super-group the Justice League. The company didn't reveal too many details back then, but the idea of joining Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman and others in single-player and two-player co-op adventures doubtless had fans drooling. Today, after months of silence, Warner Bros. revealed that Snowblind Studios (Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance, Champions of Norrath) is the mystery developer behind the game, now titled Justice League Heroes. Staying close to the franchise's roots, comic writer and Justice League veteran Dwayne McDuffie is writing the game's original story. As a treat for portable do-gooders, Justice League Heroes will arrive for PSP, in addition to the PlayStation 2 and Xbox, when the game launches this fall. "In Justice League Heroes, gamers get to play Batman and Superman together along with an amazing team of super heroes wielding unprecedented powers for stand alone action on consoles and the PSP system," said Jason Hall, Senior Vice President of Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. "The game utilizes Snowblind's innovative gameplay technologies and the respected story writing of Dwayne McDuffie to bring fans and gamers some of the best super hero battles in the universe." Justice League Heroes lets players step into the super-shoes of Superman, Batman, Green Lantern, The Flash, Wonder Woman, Martian Manhunter, Zatanna -- plus other unlockable characters -- for a crime-fighting RPG adventure. Each hero has his or her particular superpowers, which players upgrade and master during the game. ...and the teaser-trailer: http://media.ps2.ign.com/media/759/759017/vids_1.html

dubq 0 Report post Posted April 4, 2006 That's a good question. I'm just crossing my fingers that Kevin Conroy voices Batman.

USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted April 4, 2006 I'd guess they might do a story where the heroes either lose their powers or have them downgraded via some villainy, and they have to re-level up their powers during the course of the game, so Superman wouldnt be the unstoppable hero he is. Narcoleptic Jumper 0 Report post Posted April 4, 2006 but Batman doesn't really have any powers. What are they doing to do? Make him stupid and poor?

The Metal Maniac 0 Report post Posted April 4, 2006 How would this work? What could actually stop Superman for five minutes? Unless every other thug somehow has Kryptonite. Well, they managed to get Juggernaut in X-Men Legends II, so I think it's possible.
AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted April 5, 2006 Too bad it's not a sequal to the amazing Justice League Task Force. Amusing in its crapness. How many games honestly get Cheetara and/or Wonder Woman in them? Not many. How about kicking Aquaman's ass? Batman creaming Hippie Resurrected Supes is loads of fun too. They seriously need a good fighting game for DC characters. However, DC hasn't whored out many of their characters for games like they have with Batman and Supes, though. However, why the hell Aquaman has a game (and a terrible one) and Green Lantern doesn't I don't know.
Justice 0 Report post Posted April 6, 2006 GL wouldn't be in it because this was during Parallax, right? When Hal Jordan went crazy back in the Mid-Ninties? Oh well, we got Green Arrow. That made me happy.

dubq 0 Report post Posted October 21, 2006 Did anyone pick this up? IGN didn't give it a glowing review, but then I never listen to reviewers skewed opinions of the games. The controls are 99% the same as X-Men Legends, but you can only have 2 characters on screen at once. At first I was disappointed with that, but I've gotten over it pretty quickly. The boost system is pretty simple yet effective as well. Very cool game, I'm only on chapter 2 so far... but I gotta say, Ron Perlman does a pretty damn good job as Batman's voice. Exslade ZX 0 Report post Posted October 21, 2006 I have it. I like it. Mainly for the simple fact that it's Justice League though. at times though...the feeling can only be described as...FUCK!!...The AI can be terribly cheap at some points. I'm talking one hit kills cheap. And hey, while that may not seem THAT bad, it is when you start the level off, encircled, by at least ten enemies, who all do one hit kills. Where the mission is to survive. Where the fuckers respawn repeatedly. In other words, goddamnit they made a few parts harder then they need to be. (And there are two unlockable harder diffulculties) Enemies like to gang up on and surround you, and repeatedly shoot projectiles that take a huge chunk of your life as you proceed through the game. I gurantee there are levels you may have to try at least 10 times, because for whatever reason, they decide not to put a checkpoint at all through half the level. But, you get to run around as Kyle Rayner (unlockable) or Flash, or any of the other numerous characters, so what the hey!
Big McLargeHuge 0 Report post Posted October 21, 2006 I also like it. And I definitely agree about the difficulty. It can be a total bastard at times. I just wish there were more powers available for Batman and Green Lantern. Their selection seems a bit lackluster.
DrVenkman PhD 0 Report post Posted October 21, 2006 Superman is in the game. By video game law, it has to suck.

DrVenkman PhD 0 Report post Posted October 22, 2006 Sadly, it's still the best Superman game to date, although I seem to recall playing a co-op arcade game when I was a kid that seemed decent enough.

However, nobody I know has ever played it. I bought that game brand new on a Black Friday sale for like $8 and still haven't even tried it yet. I heard the Xbox Superman game was okay before, but I don't know on that. However, it has to at least be better than the Aquaman game. Also, the GBA version of JLA:Heroes is centered around The Flash. Does anyone know why or anything about the GBA version of the game?

I haven't played the Aquaman game but I've seen game footage of it. It looks every bit as bad. The flying controls are as awful as the Aquaman swimming controls look, plus the voice acting is so horrible that George Reeve rose from the dead to personally punch and double-noggin-knocker each person who was involved in its production. Yeah I liked that one. One Superman was in the classic suit and the other one would have a mostly red suit. It was like Double Dragon but, with flying. dubq 0 Report post Posted October 30, 2006 So, it's been over a year since I've reviewed any games for Inside Pulse. I'd stopped and told them it was just ruining gaming for me and that I hated playing games that I wasn't even interested in (ie: Playboy, Death By Degrees, etc.) and that I'd do occasional spots for games that I'd bought myself and planned on enjoying. Well, the time has come. JLH review @ IP: http://notatrueending.insidepulse.com/arti...heroes-ps2.html Let me know what you think.

Isn't that about the same timeframe since they reviewed games, ever? Pretty good review, although a game with such average/barely average gameplay seems to have a relatively high final score. And "appeal factor?" WTF?
Lightning Flik 0 Report post Posted November 1, 2006 I'm kinda surprised you rated sound a 9, when you say it is average and just does the job which by all standards I know of is a 6. Also, some of those categories are needless. Gameplay and Story do not need to be seperated as the story itself is what drives you to play, therefore it is apart of gameplay. Replayability should also be mentioned but added into gameplay. Originality, Appeal Factor, Balance, Addicticeness and Misc could've all just been added together and put together as one category. However, the actual content in the review is good itself and definitely makes the game seem to be worth playing.

Yea...but isn't 'Gameplay' you know, how it controls, how easy/hard it is to work the characters, etc. While story is about the actual game itself, and what takes place in it. I didn't read the review, but if the definitions of the two are what I think they are, then they should be two different categories altogether.

I wasn't expecting anything revolutionary out of this game.
