I had to drive about 40 minutes to find a theater that was playing this, but man was it worth it. I'm honetly not sure what sort of message the movie was trying to promote, whether it was intended to be a satire of lobbyists, or a more libertarian view of "Don't listen to what other people tell you, research and make your own decisions" sort of message, it could really be seen either way. The film is basically just a story about a lobbyist for the Tobacco Industry, and how he uses his charm and charisma to defend the business he represents. It's a very funny, somewhat dark, and cynical film that really has to be seen. It's currently in limited release now, but it expands to more theaters on Friday, and next week, so try and catch it if you can, because this could be the sleeper hit of the year, plus Katie Holmes sex scene, no tits, but you do get to see a pretty decent amount of ass, so you can't lose!

I'm interested in seeing this. Reviews look solid. It's too bad they had to make such a fuss about Katie Holmes sex scene because now, unfortunately I need to convince my wife I want to see it for the actual content and not as an excuse to see a Katie Holmes sex scene.

Who cares about a Katie Holmes sex scene now that she's ready to pop with Rosemary's Baby 2K6: The Second Coming of L. Ron

However when I saw the trailer initially, I've been wanting to see the film

The sex scene isn't anything to write home about. At all. The funnest part of having Katie Holmes in this movie is spotting her cold sores under her lipstick.

Seriously, though. It's a really good flick. It's pretty wierd, though, that no one smokes (that I can recall) during the entire movie (the book is the complete opposite with chainsmoking left, right and center). :P

My wife wants to see it BECAUSE of the Katie Holmes sex scene.

Where was Katies ass?

Anyways, I loved this. Every second of it was tremendous. The movie knew its strength - Eckhart kicking ass and interacting with the MOD squad - and played it up. The stuff with the wife and Katie was done at a minimum. His decline lasted maybe 5 mintues and he was back on his feet. Everything, really, was done to facilitate his spin, which is what the movie was all about. The conversation about Vanilla and Chocolate was one of my faves. A million bazillion stars.

And the next shot, with both of them eating vanilla? Brilliant.

So many things to love about this film. Excellent performances all around, particularly from William H. Macy, who continues to remind everyone why he's one of the best actors working today. Rob Lowe's part was great as well. I just lost it when they cut to him standing in the moonlight wearing a kimono ("When do you sleep?" "Sunday."). My favorite part, however, had to be Nick outing his affair with Heather on national TV, as she stood dumbfounded in her office, surrounded by her shocked colleagues.
