jwest27 Posted April 15, 2006 Report Posted April 15, 2006 naiwf thinks something is overrated? NO WAI!
Hawk 34 Posted April 15, 2006 Report Posted April 15, 2006 It's been 10 games, aside from the fact Pittsburgh and KC are still horrid...you can't really base anything off just 10 games.
Bruiser Chong Posted April 15, 2006 Report Posted April 15, 2006 It's been 10 games, aside from the fact Pittsburgh and KC are still horrid...you can't really base anything off just 10 games. You can if you live in New York.
naiwf Posted April 15, 2006 Report Posted April 15, 2006 The Mets are going to lose this game 5-4. I can feel it. Glad I was wrong, but that was a hell of a nailbiter for the last 3 innings.
Failed Bridge Posted April 15, 2006 Report Posted April 15, 2006 So I'm thinking Manny is officially on the decline. His bat speed looks terrible.
Cartman Posted April 15, 2006 Report Posted April 15, 2006 Manny looked like this last year until May. He's fine.
Failed Bridge Posted April 15, 2006 Report Posted April 15, 2006 he didn't look this bad. Seriously, he can't seem to get his hands inside the baseball at all.
Bruiser Chong Posted April 15, 2006 Report Posted April 15, 2006 From the at-bats I've seen, he seems more impatient. Bad times to be a Dodger or Dodgers fan. Yhency Brazonban is gone for the year; he'll be undergoing Tommy John surgery soon. Maybe I missed something. I didn't realize there was even a problem.
Bruiser Chong Posted April 15, 2006 Report Posted April 15, 2006 Ah, I love Rotoworld's biting commentary. Somewhat tame, but humorous reaction to Victor Santos' poor outing against the Cubs tonight: "We can't be sure, but it's likely that Santos' struggles in two of his three starts have something to do with him not being very good."
Guest Retro Rob Posted April 15, 2006 Report Posted April 15, 2006 These Mets fans are pretty hostile. I understand no one likes to see a lead in jeopardy late in the game, but damn, the boo birds have a short leash. I was at the game. It really didn't sound thunderous, but I would think Heilman got pretty much what he deserved.
jwest27 Posted April 15, 2006 Report Posted April 15, 2006 No shutout today, 3 runs in the first inning.

Maybe I missed something. I didn't realize there was even a problem. No, he's not very good. 5.33 ERA last year and 5.40 ERA so far means he can go to the DL. In fact, I'm glad that he's hurt so that Little won't want to use him.
naiwf Posted April 15, 2006 Report Posted April 15, 2006 Jorge Julio for Cy Young. This guy is MONEY. . . for the opposition.
Guest NYankees Posted April 15, 2006 Report Posted April 15, 2006 Well Omar just had to trade more white players from the Mets for Hispanic players.
naiwf Posted April 15, 2006 Report Posted April 15, 2006 At 8-2, I'd say the Latino Mets are doing just fine. Our only two losses came when the white boys pitched poorly. Seriously though, I think the whole thing is overblown. It's not like Delgado, Beltran and others were bums. . . well except for Julio, but that's mainly because they wanted to get rid of Anna Benson.
2GOLD Posted April 15, 2006 Report Posted April 15, 2006 Jorge Julio for Cy Young. This guy is MONEY. . . for the opposition. He's given up 8 runs in two innings of work...damn. He wasn't that bad with the Orioles. He usually just gave up three or four runs every eight innings.

Dobbs 3K Posted April 15, 2006 Report Posted April 15, 2006 Well, Brewers beat the Mets today 8-2, after getting thrashed yesterday by Tom Glavine. Highlight of the game for me was Tomo Ohka's slash bunt, where he ended up dumping an RBI double into the outfield.
Guest Sylvan Grenier Posted April 15, 2006 Report Posted April 15, 2006 At 8-2, I'd say the Latino Mets are doing just fine. Our only two losses came when the white boys pitched poorly. Hey, give some props to The Great Wright Hope! Does anyone think there's a chance that if the Nationals turn this six-game slump into a total freefall by late May, Soriano goes to the Cardinals in return for some motley assortment of crap? He's already unhappy as it is in left, and will be considerably unhappier on the worst team in the NL. The Cardinals' only real weak point is Aaron Miles at second (well Encarnacion ain't so hot either), and this would let Alfie go to a good baseball town where he can play the position he wants to play. Also, Jim Bowden is a dumbshit, and would probably give him away for like, I dunno, Spivey and Wainwright?
Bruiser Chong Posted April 15, 2006 Report Posted April 15, 2006 Wow, A's retake the lead with three homers on three pitches. I've got the TV on in the other room, which meant there were three instances of me hearing the homer, followed by three instances of me going back into the other room just in time to miss the next one.
Bored Posted April 15, 2006 Report Posted April 15, 2006 I was at the game today and that was simply awesome. First game I've ever been to with back-to-back-to-back homeruns and to see it on three consecutive pitches (the first three of the inning) was amazing and especially cool to see the Big Hurt mixed in there for the three straight.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted April 15, 2006 Report Posted April 15, 2006 Chris Ray rules! 4th save..although he gave up his 2nd hit..I guess I couldnt expect him to keep that 1 hit thing going for too long.
Bruiser Chong Posted April 15, 2006 Report Posted April 15, 2006 This is why stealing bases is overrated. Angel Pagan singles with two outs and is gunned down by plenty trying to steal second with Matt Murton up. Moments later, Murton doubles down the line, which would've easily scored the speedy Pagan. Nats have been thrown out two or three times already, which is proving to be big in a tied game.
Guest NYankees Posted April 15, 2006 Report Posted April 15, 2006 It's nice to see the Yankees throw away games just like the NY Rangers. Perfect day and weekend for NY Sport teams. Starting Wright is an automatic loss especially against Johan Santana.
Bruiser Chong Posted April 15, 2006 Report Posted April 15, 2006 It's the second inning. Shut the hell up.
Guest NYankees Posted April 16, 2006 Report Posted April 16, 2006 Who are you talking to brusa chang? Go watch the Yankees and you can see for yourself how much Jaret Wright sucks.
Guest NYankees Posted April 16, 2006 Report Posted April 16, 2006 With the way Arod has been playing in the field I am going to say a gold glove is on the horizon for him.
Guest Smues Posted April 16, 2006 Report Posted April 16, 2006 Braves up 1-0 in the bottom of the 5th. Smoltz is pitching really well, and Peavy is doing just as good minus a homerun. One thing I did NOT miss during the off-season was this awful commercial on the Braves' radio station. "Looky looky looky, here comes cookie. Cook's pest control!"
Guest NYankees Posted April 16, 2006 Report Posted April 16, 2006 I wish the Yankees were up on the Twins. Yankees just had first and second with no outs with the 4,5, and 6 hitters all failing.
Bruiser Chong Posted April 16, 2006 Report Posted April 16, 2006 Who are you talking to brusa chang? Go watch the Yankees and you can see for yourself how much Jaret Wright sucks. I know he sucks, but with your lineup, three runs isn't a big deal. You'd figure these Yankees "fans" would be aware of that by now. Angel Pagan got hurt, so that makes three Cubs rightfielders this week that have gone down.
