mike546 0 Report post Posted April 16, 2006 Wright sucks but I'm not really going to blame him since he hasn't pitched in two weeks. Its a four run game with six innings to go its not over.

Brett Favre 0 Report post Posted April 16, 2006 Went to the Met game today, and they got smacked. Floyd was the goat today. He had two catchable balls drop in front of him, that cost the Mets like 2-3 runs. And he struck out twice in important situations. Everyone loves David Wright though. The Yankees need to get through this game without giving up too many runs, and make Santana throw a lot of pitches. As long as we're close tonight, it shouldn't be too worrisome. Santana is the freaking man.
KingPK 0 Report post Posted April 16, 2006 I just don't get Terry Francona's tendency to sit a whole block of players in one game to get them rest when it leads to Alex Cora batting second and usually leaving nothing on base for Ortiz and Ramirez (though Manny ain't really doing much with guys on base so far anyway) to knock in. Hopefully Crisp returning gets the top of the order going again.

EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted April 16, 2006 One anecdotal note about last night's Red Barons game. Mick Foley threw out the first pitch. Chris Roberson got the honor of catching the first pitch and he appeared to insist on it. So you can add him to your lists of wrestling fan athletes.
mike546 0 Report post Posted April 16, 2006 Will someone watching Yanks/Twins tell me WHAT THE FUCK these umps are doing?!? The 3rd base ump says Castillo doesn't go on strike three when its obvious HE DOES, then the home plate ump squeezes Mo on TWO pitches that should be strike three to Mauer. Christ. edit: And they lose. FUCK.
Guest NYankees Report post Posted April 16, 2006 The Home plate umpire fucking screwed the Yankees again. Rivera had both of the first two batters out on strikeouts. FUCK YOU UMP. Once again the Yankees got screwed.
mike546 0 Report post Posted April 16, 2006 I don't really agree with NYankees most of the time but I'm going to here. A lot of bullshit in that inning.

It would have completely changed the game. As for Al, when the Umps make 2 bad calls back to back, I am allowed to bitch, especially after yesterday. Especially when Yankees were being called out on check swings earlier in the game that were no were as far as in the 9th innning.
Kismet 0 Report post Posted April 16, 2006 I kinda feel silly coming on and being happy that the Tigers are actually still above .500 after two weeks, with all the whining and crying going on about a .500 Yankee team(Cena's Writer seemingly excluded from the freak-out so far). That being said, great start for a team that seems to tick off 2-11 type of starts more times than not. If only they could get either consistant hitting or pitching. Especially when Yankees were being called out on check swings earlier in the game that were no were as far as in the 9th innning. How is it that new posters know to call me Al? The Yankees' own recap neglects to mention any of the umpires' calls, and instead focuses on the fact that the Twins got an infield hit, Matsui threw to the wrong base, and Justin Morneau got the game winning single on the first pitch. Bad calls? Good organizations and fans ignore them, suck it up, and accept responsibility for their own failures. Bad organizations and fans blame the umpires for their own shortcomings. MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted April 16, 2006 Talk about .500 3 teams in the AL not above .500 (Angels 5-6, Rangers 4-8, Royals 2-8) The entire AL East is .500 or better including the D-Rays...not that I expect that to continue..just odd after 2 weeks.. FWIW, having to listen to TB announcers for the 4 games vs TB, there seems to be some optimism down in Tampa..but when your announcer calls guys on the team "dirtbags" as a comment..I dunno. They were going nuts the night Gomes hit that grand slam though...although I think there was some beer promotion or something...
