Hoff Posted April 10, 2006 Report Posted April 10, 2006 Stephen suggested this in the title history thread. His original post suggested combining the 24/7, X, and Heartland Titles. I gotta say this doesn't sound like a bad idea to me. I don't know about the X Title; it has a really strong lineage, and it's a different style of belt. But I feel like we really don't need the 24/7 AND the Heartland Championship. I know KC's trying to bring back the 24/7 rule, but it really is a standard midcard championship. I'm not sure what everyone else thinks, but I'd like to get some dialogue going. Thoughts?
Masked Man of Mystery Posted April 10, 2006 Report Posted April 10, 2006 I'm personally a fan of a lot of titles, especially in an e fed because it does make you feel proud to hold a title, and right now the Heartland is suffering because I couldn't handle writing the feud, it's not Alfdogg's fault, so I say no

I've got a soft spot for the X Title, and there's so much more to do with that from a storyline perspective, so I'd say we need the X Title, and whatever the merged title will be called. We only need two minor OAOAST Singles titles, as we have the HI-YAH Title as well.
Tony149 Posted April 11, 2006 Report Posted April 11, 2006 IMO, the Heartland Title is the closest thing to a #2 belt we have. While it and the 24/7 titles are basically the same thing, out of all the belts (24, HL & X) I think HL is the one that is the most consistent. I'd favor merging it with the other two and creating a clear #2 belt in the OAOAST.

IMO, the 24/7 Title is our United States Title; the second most important title. You're one step closer to holding the World Title soon after holding the 24/7 Title. Just look at all the former World Heavyweight Champions who held the 24/7 Title first. Hoff, Calvin Szechstein, Crystal, Axel. The Heartland Title is the Television Title. Not the biggest title, but it's definitley a title worth fighting for, and it has been fought in some memorable feuds. (PRL-Cappa, Cappa-Drek) And the X-Division Title is the Cruiserweight Title. This one is a pretty easy comparison I think. Personally, I want to know what's going to happen to the Six-Man Tag Team Titles. We already have the Tag Team Titles. The HI-YAH Tag Team Titles. Are we seriously going to stick with the Six-Man belts? And what about the Women's Title? Are we going to abandon it again because I really liked the Women's matches.

So long as me and Alf can keep stuff going with both titles though, I don't see as we need to rush into merging them up. Women's Division...I dunno, you'd have to ask PFL. 6 Man Tag Titles will be dealt with soon, although we could probably get away with dropping them. HI-YAH Tag is another company's belt anyway and the HI-YAH Titles are always on a loop of featured and not featured...although, The Love Doctors haven't been on TV in months.
