UZI Suicide Posted May 20, 2006 Report Posted May 20, 2006 Axl was on KROQ earlier today and the interview is here - http://www.kroq.com/kevinandbean/sounds.html --- Here's a recap of the interview: GN'R will headline KROQ's Inland Invasion 2006 on September 23rd at the Hyundai Pavillion at Glen Helen. Axl thinks the surprise acoustic show they did is the smartest thing he's done in ten years. He also mentioned how it's similar to when GN'R played at CBGB's in 1987. Getting attacked by Tommy Hillfiger at Plum last night was the most surreal thing that has happened in his life (Axl was attacked by Tommy because he moved Tommy's girlfriend's drink). Tommy was thrown out by security. He talked about the New York shows and says Izzy left because he had to get up early. And lastly: DJ: The cd is coming out later this year? Axl: Yes, absolutely. Sideburnious Posted May 20, 2006 Report Posted May 20, 2006 I can't wait to see them live now. Only two more weeks. Glad Axl is in good spirits too. It seems it only takes about 10 years to get over yourself.
Renegade Posted May 28, 2006 Report Posted May 28, 2006 They just played Rock in Rio (watched it via AOL streaming) and Axl was in way better shape than he was in 2002. Also Bumblefoots solos in nightrain and november rain were crazy.
Jobber of the Week Posted May 28, 2006 Report Posted May 28, 2006 The Rock in Rio show was horrible. Paradise City was horrible with a messed up opening. The other guys play like children banging on instruments. STOP IT.
BUTT Posted May 28, 2006 Report Posted May 28, 2006 It sounded horrible because the people at the soundboard didn't seem to know what they were doing and the guitars were barely audible at times.
Renegade Posted May 28, 2006 Report Posted May 28, 2006 It seemed to clear up near the end, but the guitars went mute on some pivotal songs like Sweet Child. I still think the outro to nightrain was way better than what buckethead did in RIR3, and Axl could actually sing this time round.
ZGangsta Posted May 28, 2006 Report Posted May 28, 2006 It sounded horrible because the people at the soundboard didn't seem to know what they were doing and the guitars were barely audible at times. That probably had nothing to do with the people who were running it live, but rather the mix that the video feed was doing.
Sideburnious Posted May 29, 2006 Report Posted May 29, 2006 The Rock in Rio show was horrible. Paradise City was horrible with a messed up opening. The other guys play like children banging on instruments. STOP IT. Hey! Nobody badmouths Robin Finck like that. He more than knows what he's doing.
Renegade Posted May 29, 2006 Report Posted May 29, 2006 Fortus and BF outclassed Finck by some margin.
