Guest Felonies! Report post Posted May 2, 2006 Anaheim better not fucking win. I want to co-opt Canada's excitement over a Battle of Alberta. Those are gonna be some insane crowds.
CanadianGuitarist 0 Report post Posted May 2, 2006 It's time for Kovalev to step up. He's the best player on paper in this series, and that's underllined with Koivu being out. This is gonna be great. It's FUCKING LOUD at Bell, especially with Koivu in attendance.

CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted May 2, 2006 3-0 Buffalo after one. Philly looks like shit. I really don't want it to happen, but if Carolina wins, at least the Ottawa-Buffalo series can start on Friday.
CanadianGuitarist 0 Report post Posted May 3, 2006 3-0 Buffalo after one. Philly looks like shit. I really don't want it to happen, but if Carolina wins, at least the Ottawa-Buffalo series can start on Friday. It's getting ugly. Fuck, I'd have to quit my job at Wal*Mart if Buffalo keeps it up. That place is stocked with Sabres fanboys.
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted May 3, 2006 With any other team that considered itself a Cup favourite before the season began only to get bounced in the first round, I'd be expecting a GM review at the very least. It's a shame this is Philly we're talking about. The only way I'll see a new Flyers GM is if I outlive Bob Clarke.
CanadianGuitarist 0 Report post Posted May 3, 2006 I have a question, one thing I've never understood.. I've heard alot through the playoffs(and these are examples) that if BrindaMour is the reciepent of a delayed penalty, and Habs Kovalev still has puck possession. Why is it better for Kovalev to try and give the puck to Justin Williams and get the penalty started right away? I mean, there's still gonna be a man advantage when Huet heads toward the bench, right? I can't get over how great Jim Hughson is.
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted May 3, 2006 Hughson's been great for years. He's still the best TV guy the Blue Jays have ever had (even better than Shulman, IMO). I would assume that if they're in the offensive zone, they'd want to get a faceoff there instead of risking a mistake where the puck got out of the zone. That's the only thing I can think of. the max 0 Report post Posted May 3, 2006 Guys, the big problem with the Flyers was that they just weren't big and lumbering enough. In the new NHL, you NEED to have plus-sized defenseman logging big minutes for you in crunch time. The obvious move for Clarke is to go after our pal Hal Gill. Occasionally, when the goalie leaves, the puck can be deflected or one the Habs (in this case) can make a bad pass which go into their net.
CanadianGuitarist 0 Report post Posted May 3, 2006 Isn't that basically how Billy Smith became the first goalie to score, come to think of it? Rob Ramage was somehow involved on the play, too.
therealworldschampion 0 Report post Posted May 3, 2006 Jesus Fucking Christ, that game reminded me of the 8-0 game back in 2001. Nice to see Clarke still building a team like he did back in the 90s with the "dump the puck and check" style. And anyone who thinks that Snider is going to fire his adopted son GM, IT'S NOT FUCKING HAPPENING. Ed would have to die or be replaced for Clarke(and apparently Billy King now too) to finally get the axe.

CanadianGuitarist 0 Report post Posted May 3, 2006 Take your pick of the expletives on my mind. So who's the team to beat now in the East? Buffalo's hot, Cam Ward looks unflappable behind a solid Canes team. And New Jersey's won FIFTEEN IN A ROW! And I didn't even mention the Sens.
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted May 3, 2006 I may be slightly biased -- OK, Dama/OU-level biased -- but Ottawa has to be the team to beat until proven otherwise. No team is as deep, both up front and on the blue line. I think Ottawa disposes of Buffalo in 5 or 6, and then the conference final is likely to go 7, no matter who wins the Canes/Devils series. CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted May 3, 2006 Hockey experts, Do the Sabres have any chance against Ottawa? Yes, they do, but Ryan Miller has to be a brick wall in net. The Sabres can't run and gun with the Sens, because they'll get outgunned every time.
Guest Princess Leena Report post Posted May 3, 2006 I figured that. The Sens have lots of talent. And like 4 really good defensemen. Does Emery still start for them? There might be a chance.
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted May 3, 2006 Emery will probably play the entire series. He was pretty good in the Bolts series, though. I don't see goaltending being an issue, unless Hasek decides he's ready and sparks a goalie controversy.

I don't see goaltending being an issue, unless Hasek decides he's ready and sparks a goalie controversy. Buffalo needs to ride the momentum of coming back from what every analyst alive was calling "A series turning goal" in game 3, then winning BIG. But other than that, Ottawa is a very, very, very complete team.

In worse news, Ozo was caught by the cops in white plains, NY for a DUI, AND he's only retired from his national team. This deal for him was just so bad. He comes in an ruins are perfectly steady defense, loses two playoff games by himself, and now is back on alchol and he's got another year left on his contract!?!?
