While I admit I need to rewatch Diabolique, I will totally go along with Eyes Without a Face being the best French horror movie ever.

"Diabolique", along with "Peeping Tom", are like the best movies Hitchcock never did.

I love the new wave of Franch Horror movies (especially "Haute Tension" and "Inside"), but nothing beats old French horror.

So I watched Transformers for the first time yesterday and I have mixed emotions about it.

I have nothing wrong with the first half of the movie. A new threat is upon the human race and no one knows what the hell it is. The dialogue was good and the pace was good too, but after Prime and the other Autobots come to earth it does a 180 and shits on itself. Little things weren't really explained and or cleared up, the script goes south and 1000x more explosions.

FUCK YOU MICHAEL BAY!

I loved that in the theater from the experience, but I've never had any desire to watch it again.

Speaking of Bay, here's the first on set picture from the "Friday the 13th" remake he's producing. You know, a remake was really the only logical next step, as they've pretty much done all they can with the franchise (except my idea-"Next Friday the 13th" in which Ice Cube must save his hood from Jason)

Anyways, Mark (Texas Chainsaw remake) Nispel is directing it, and the guys who wrote "Freddy vs. Jason" wrote it. Cast includes Jared (Supernatural) Padalecki, Amanda (The O.C.) Righetti, Nick (Halloween remake) Mennell, Danielle Panabaker, Travis van Winkle, Aaron (Disturbia) Yoo, Jonathan Sadowski, Nana (Deep Space 9) Visitor as Mama Vorhees, and Derek (Hills Have Eyes 2) Mears as Jason.

Oh, and here's an awesome picture for "The Strangers"

I agree that a remake is the only "logical" way forward with the Friday franchise.

Or here's another idea: LEAVE IT THE FUCK ALONE!

It's not hard to come up with a new idea for a slasher movie.

I always thought the next step for the franchise would be to just do a sequal to Freddy v. Jason. That flick was so much fun to watch, as it played upon the mythologies of both characters pretty good, and yet still kept the timeline together on both NOES and FT13th relating to previous sequals before it. They totally had the ending that played into an easy sequal too, in that they both were sent to hell and from there, you could easily add Pinhead to the mix to make it even more cooler. In fact, and I'm sure most of us fanboys know this anyway, but the original ending was supposed to have Pinhead it in actually. But I guess something fell through with the connection there.

I am thinking someday we probably won't see Freddy v. Jason v. Pinhead (still may be a chance though if the new Hellraiser remake does well) but more in line that we'll finally get that Ash v. Freddy/Jason deal talked about for so long. I think there are graphic novels even out there now playing into the idea.

Whatever the case, I'm really not expecting much from Platinum Dunes on this one. Damn near every remake they have done has been rather dissapointing. And talk about the most underwhelming first shot from the set of the remake too.

I feel like an ass for thinking at first that luke-o was talking about Friday (The Ice Cuba/Chris Tucker movie). I was wondering if Hollywood had truly gone mad for remaking a movie from 1995.

Did anybody see the short lived Friday:The Animated Series? That may be a contender for worst prime-time animated series. I mean really what audience were they targeting there? Wiggers?

PEEPING TOM is on my top 10 all-time favorite movies list. It is a great film that I can watch over and over.

I am enjoying the French horror that is coming out now, especially INSIDE. That movie is insane!! HAUTE TENSION on the other hand was a great movie, until the crappy ending that was done to death by the time it came out. After that ending I really couldn't bring myself to watch it again. That ending really made the rest of the movie pointless.

"Frontier(s)" is far from original, but It's still a good horror movie IMO. Considering the fact that it has a family of Nazi cannibals, Milky should love it.

I am really looking froward to picking this one up. It looks like everything HOSTEL and SAW wanted to be (mind you, I love both of those series).

Trailer for "Chemical Wedding", directed by Monty Python editor Julian Doyle and written by the one and only Bruce Dickinson. Deals with the spirit of Aleister Crowley possesing a teacher. Mayhem ensues.

You know, before I read of Dickinson's involvement, I got his song "Chemical Wedding" stuck in my head. I hope there's a decent amount of that album on the soundtrack, because it's a fucking TIGHT album. And so we lay, we lay in the same grave, on chemical wedding day...

I have a feeling that listening to the album can give me some insight on what the plot's about.

Money, dear boy.

I don't think he's that broke with all of the standup gigs he does unless he has a drug problem.

Actually that's probably it.

He probably just wants a bigger house or something.

I just got back from seeing Doomsday, it's pretty shit. It's a film based around homages, but doesnt do them very well. And the 1st and 2nd half of the film are like night and day in comparrison. It feels like 2 different movies. Just for the record, I quite like the 1st half, but the 2nd half sucked so much that I was bored by the end of it.

For those of you who haven't seen it/head of it - it's like Escape From New York meets Mad Max and Robin Hood.

Only shit.

EDIT: Oh, and I saw a trailer for Teeth and since I don't trust the views of IMDB's Team Retard Forums or newspapers and only really trust the views of TSM, is the movie any good? I thought it looked pretty sweet.
