If anyone who posts in HD was made a mod it should honestly be Alfdogg. He thinks drama is stupid, he makes his own choices, he's well liked, and he has no life.

We do not need any new leaders. Admin is our leader, and is therefore correct in his dealings. That is why he is leader. To question a leader is to ask for unrest. Unrest leads to chaos. Chaos leads to anarchy, and I don't think I need to tell you what anarchy leads to (cats sleeping with dogs.. mass hysteria).

If people really want some sort of new board authority figure, this isn't the place to pick that person. Start a thread in Site Feedback, asking people from all over the board to objectively suggest who they think the best mod would be, not just the most popular. Then, PM admin and rationally explain what you're doing, and ask him (or another mod/admin) to keep the thread in control, deleting joke/flame posts and keeping the thread on-topic.

 

If you want serious change, it requires serious discussion. Obvioulsy there's enough sentiment (at least in here) for a new "leader" of sorts, but it's going to require a lot of time and effort, and a mature attitude. Admin seems a decent guy, and I think if we keep at it for long enough, and don't make light of the situation, he will listen.

 

For that reason, however, I don't have any issue with the current mod/admin staff, so this burden falls on someone else.

1) Remove HTQ as mod, which is a no-brainer.

 

2) Tell the mods to do what they think is right, and not pressure them to do whatever is popular around here... which I think happens often.

I'm very neutral, especially when it comes to things here, but my position is as follows:

 

You can't moderate fairly. You're pedantic, selfish, and spiteful. The fact that you're semi-intelligent hurts you because you think you have the right to lord it over people who you think aren't as intelligent. An example? You're holding a grudge against message board people. Want another one? You threw a tantrum over at thePit, for whatever god forsaken reason.

 

Those are things that don't exactly fit the bill of a "good mod." If you honestly wanted to be one, you need to take a step back and look at how much of a child you've been acting like the past few months either here or elsewhere and understand that that's not the kind of person that needs to have power over other people.

 

And now to address the incoming discourse... Yeah, I've done shit things as a mod too, but I made up for them and I've paid for them. So let's cut that one off at the head before it starts.

Aw, only semi-intelligent? Damn. You're a hard one to win over. I can see how I don't make it to the top at a braintrust like this. Selfish? I proofread essays for Piss pro bono because it's a nice thing to do for someone who is nice in kind. I offered to help out with editing for other TSM writers before that project went to shit. If I'm gonna be pedantic, I think that's an acceptable outlet for it. As for the Pit thing, that's just as much their fault as it is mine. I'm pretty sure I didn't start a thread asking why I'm crappy. I tried to derail that whole thing, but Chave just kept plugging away. It's not like the other guys aren't instigating shit too. I'm only on the hook for half of that.
