Tony149 0 Report post Posted May 3, 2006 Unhyped 4-Way: Fun opening match. DDD won! CW/Bo-D*LUX-Docs: Nice explaination as to why these 3 teams are fighting. As they say, good things come in small packages. That's why that little bit of info was cool. Really liked the match, particularly the start with D*LUX hitting a bunch of moves in stereo and the Lovematic Grampa/Opposites Attract spots. It also looks like we're inching closer to the year of the Metrosexual Monster! On a sidenote: The Docs were the longest reigning champions in OAOAST, right? I know they're Hi-YAH, but I believe only PR and Leon Rodez come close to lasting as long as the Docs did as champs. Run for the Gold II: When the match started out with pics of Terry Taylor and Krista I knew RFTG II was gonna rock. From the commentary to Maya's sweet and innocent intros to appearances from JIVIN' J.R., the uglist macost around in the King and David Hassleoff, just words and words of fun that's another early MOTY contender. The only surprise part of the match is that there was only one title switch! GPX/O'Hara-Zack/Mystery Partners: I don't know much about the SWF guys who debuted outside of TC being Zack's character, but I like how their introduction was handled. Got a Ricky Steamboat returns at the Clash as Dustin Rhodes' partner vibe. Is it the first time we've openly acknowledged the SWF on OAOAST programming? The match itself was highly entertaining. Ooh, was that mist by Bloodshed's own blood spot nasty. The finish left me wanting to know what the deal was right there. Great pre-match promo cut by the GPX and O'Hara. They oozed arrogance. If my wrestling history is correct, Survivor Series 1993 and 1996 and the first No Way Out in 1998 were referenced. I remember being disappointed about Savio replacing HBK in the 8-man main event. Hoff vs. Dan Black: One of the matches I was looking forward to, and it didn't fail to deliver. Fantastic stuff all around. Marked out big for the suplexes into the Heart of Ice spot. Dan was just a killer right there. It also broke the trend of the Line of the Night being comedy related, as Caboose's line of Hoff not needing to say a word because he's gonna tap being one of the best wrestling line I've ever heard. Triple Threat ME: Really enjoyed it. Just about every country had an announce table and they all got destroyed! Seeing how Alf got the win, I wouldn't be surprised if he and PK do battle one more time, or even PK and Brock since Brock's F-Stunner-5 put PK down long enough for Alf to get the submission. Match of the Night: Co-winners -- Run for the Gold II & Hoff vs. Dan Black Line of the Night: "He won't need to say a word, Coach. But he will tap." -- Caboose
King Cucaracha 0 Report post Posted May 3, 2006 X-Division Fourway I'm proud to say I can keep up pretty well with PFL's chain wrestling. How the non-indy marks keep up, I don't know. I thought a quesadora was an armdrag variation, not a tilt a whirl backbreaker. Could be wrong. A typically insane PFL match, loads of crazy spots, great stuff. Hopefully it becomes more than a one-show comeback. And hey, my guy won. Even better! HI-YAH 3-Way Tag Title Match Congratulations to me for making the result so predictable. Again, I couldn't get into it so it's not all that great. Run For The Gold II Me again! Well, half me, credit to Patty for getting it going. Good stuff methinks. GPX vs. SWFREPRESENT~! I knew it all along. Possibly because I was told, possibly because I'm a mind-reading genius. You decide. Nice to see a little more rawness out of The GPX. I'm impressed that Triple C knew who the SWF guys were. Especially Bloodshed, he's not really that big of a name (OMG worked shoot!). I can't tell if it's Zack or Rando writing...it's not Bruce's writing style, unless he switched up. Possibly Rando. Either way, good stuff. I'm real interested in where this is going and I'm interested to see if and/or what Rando and Bruce bring. Naturally though, this would have been better with the SWF World Champion's input *coughcough*. That being me, obviously. OAOAST Syndicated should be cool. Just call me Mr Insider Information. Rest later. Me sleep now.
Zack Malibu 0 Report post Posted May 3, 2006 The match was actually a joint writing effort between Bruce and myself, although he got struck with a computer crash that left him scrambling to get something...anything, done in time to get it to me. I simply polished the match so that it flowed better without reading two very different paragraphs and looking sloppy in that sense, but Blank deserves as much credit as I. Same goess for Rando, who had input on the match, especially the finish involving his character. I've begun reading the show, and hope to have feedback later. King Cucaracha 0 Report post Posted May 3, 2006 Hmm, wouldn't have guessed, knowing Bruce's writing style (meaning his spacing rather than his content). But yeah, good for him and Rando for getting involved, always good to have 'new'ns' on board.
Bruce Blank 0 Report post Posted May 3, 2006 Hmm, wouldn't have guessed, knowing Bruce's writing style (meaning his spacing rather than his content). But yeah, good for him and Rando for getting involved, always good to have 'new'ns' on board.Bruce can adjust his style to suit the federation he writes for *thumbs up* all that AND I shower once in a while I'll get some stats up for ya'll tomorrow so that you know a bit more about Blank. and seriously Zack did the big haul on that match, kudos for saving my computer hating BUTT. Haha...I got some ideas floating around, but it won't be a weekly deal, considering how unreliable I've been in the past. And the quesadora is a backbreaker, while you've probably seen tilt-a-whirl armdrags referred to as "quesadoras" in the past. It's technically correct, but the pure form is a backbreaker. The Amazing Rando 0 Report post Posted May 4, 2006 Oh my heavens...if he thinks Bloodshed misting with his own blood is nasty.... he might be going into cardiac arrest by Independence Day. Let it be known that Bloodshed (and his parent company Alan Clark, Inc) have: - walked on glass shards barefoot - thrown another body through a floor - dove off production trucks and buses and through various other vehicles and people - THREE - TWO ... nuff said. - tried, but failed, to smash a flaming guitar on someone - bashed in a gold car with a sledgehammer - fallen through glass panes - wrestled through Xmas lights - took a very very large number of brutal chairshots in a span of about three minutes, bloodying up a small gymnasium (hence the name) Oh...and one time I almost won the tag titles with FLIK. Amazing. You damn right.

KingPK 0 Report post Posted May 4, 2006 I'm just gonna feedback the matches I've read already and get to the others later. X-Divsion Fourway: I kinda thought PFL had his hand in this match a bit with all the moves and spots I've never heard of. The man's a walking encyclopedia of insane moves. An extremely fun spotfest that was perfect for the opener. Run For the Gold DEUX~!: THE KING~! That's worth a couple of snowflakes right there. Another very fun KC/Patty co-production that had a very interesting ending. Zack and the SWF Invasion vs. GPX/O'Hara: Having read some SWF shows (2) and lurking in the SWF forums, I kind of knew who Blank and Bloodshed were, but you guys did a good job introducing them for the uninitiated. I really liked the ending as it wasn't the predictable "Zack and friends are victorious over the evil Upstarts" and actually leaves some questions to be answered. Main event: Short, but pretty sweet as I know how hard writing triple threats and fourways are. All three guys got offense in and had their shots to win it. Ending kind of came out of nowhere though. It DOES set up one last Knight/Alf matchup, but who knows if that will ever happen?
Tony149 0 Report post Posted May 4, 2006 Hey, I remember Rando. The Amazing Rando vs. The Purist for the X-Title at the first Living Angleously, IIRC. Man, did that program suck. I had no idea what the hell I was doing since my heart wasn't into writing and it was the first time I was working with an active roster member. Rando won the X-Title and was gone soon thereafter. I nearly stopped writing completely until Eski came along with the idea to form a tag team and win the tag titles. That experience made me a better writer. So there's a happy ending to this story. Mystery Eskimo 0 Report post Posted May 5, 2006 Just wanted to give some feed on the Hoff/Black match and thank Hoff for carrying this feud and doing a great job with it. The match flowed really well, a slow, intense start building to some real drama, and everything was tight and well structured. Thumbs way up!
