The Electrifyer Posted May 14, 2006 Report Posted May 14, 2006 I almost thought Horry was gonna hit that.
Guest NYankees Posted May 14, 2006 Report Posted May 14, 2006 How does Stackhouse not know that he has to hit the rim? Huge win by the Mavs to take a 2-1 series lead. Wow Nowitzki took 24 free throws tonight.
CanadianChris Posted May 14, 2006 Report Posted May 14, 2006 Was anyone else actually expecting Horry to make that shot? I was.
Damaramu Posted May 14, 2006 Report Posted May 14, 2006 Does everyone here consider Dirk a Top 5 player? Is Duncan still a Top 5 player?
Guest Posted May 14, 2006 Report Posted May 14, 2006 Top 5 1. Kobe. Duh. 2. Dirk 3. LeBron 4. Garnett 5. Nash So yeah, and no. It's really fucking hard to do a general top 5, easier to do it by position.
Guest Posted May 14, 2006 Report Posted May 14, 2006 He's 6. As I said, it's hard. You know what, scrap that one, I like Wade and think he's better than LeBron. So, put Wade in LeBron's spot, and move LeBron to 4th, and Garnett to 5th, then Nash. Much easier to do it by position, which I will. I'm sure people will be mad. PG 1. Nash 2. Arenas. That's if you consider him a point, which I do. 3. Kidd 4. Billups 5. Paul SG 1. Kobe 2. Wade 3. Iverson 4. Carter (He's playing awesome.) 5. Ray Allen SF 1. LeBron 2. Marion 3. TMac 4. Artest 5. Kirilenko PF 1. Dirk 2. Garnett 3. Duncan 4. Brand 5. Jermaine O'Neal (Honorable mention to Rasheed, Gasol and Dwight Howard) C 1. Shaq 2. Yao 3. B. Wallace 4. Camby (Goodness, these two spots are so hard.) 5. Okur (I feel like I'm missing someone.)
Guest Vitamin X Posted May 14, 2006 Report Posted May 14, 2006 I would've dropped Garnett from that top 5. I know he's only a couple years removed from his MVP seasons, but still. He's dropped off huge since.
CanadianChris Posted May 14, 2006 Report Posted May 14, 2006 Yeah, Garnett doesn't make my top 5 either: 1. Kobe 2. Dirk 3. Duncan 4. LeBron 5. Wade Nash is my 6th, Brand 7th. Garnett probably slips in 8th.
Guest Posted May 14, 2006 Report Posted May 14, 2006 I would've dropped Garnett from that top 5. I know he's only a couple years removed from his MVP seasons, but still. He's dropped off huge since. Is that a result of his teammates? That's what I attribute his play to.
Guest Vitamin X Posted May 14, 2006 Report Posted May 14, 2006 He's getting older and has had some injuries in the past couple seasons. Don't get me wrong, he's without a doubt still a top ten player, but I don't think he's quite up there with some of the other guys mentioned.
Ripper Posted May 14, 2006 Report Posted May 14, 2006 I'd go: 1: Lebron 2: Kobe 3: Wade 4: Dirk 5: Duncan I think the only reason Duncan is that low is because he has the best supporting cast of the other top 5 but when it comes down to it, he can still fuck with the rest of the list. And I don't see how you can consider Arenas a point guard and call Allen Iverson a two guard. They have practically the same numbers with Arenas averaging a few less points.
alfdogg Posted May 14, 2006 Author Report Posted May 14, 2006 I just posted my lists a few days ago at NMB, so good timing. PG 1. Steve Nash 2. Gilbert Arenas 3. Allen Iverson 4. Chauncey Billups 5. Jason Kidd It was close between Gilbert and AI, but I gave Gilbert the nod based on his recent playoff performance. SG 1. Kobe Bryant 2. Dwyane Wade 3. Vince Carter 4. Ray Allen 5. Michael Redd Probably the easiest list to decide. SF 1. Tracy McGrady 2. LeBron James 3. Ron Artest 4. Shawn Marion 5. Andrei Kirilenko Marion & Kirilenko was probably the toughest decision to make. LeBron's still a little rough around the edges in his shooting and his defense, and while he's improved as a clutch player, I'd still go to McGrady for the big shot if choosing between the two. PF 1. Tim Duncan 2. Kevin Garnett 3. Dirk Nowitzki 4. Elton Brand 5. Jermaine O'Neal Refer to what I said about Gilbert/AI...I almost put Dirk above KG for the same reason, but KG's defense was the big difference, though Dirk has improved on his. C 1. Yao Ming 2. Shaquille O'Neal 3. Ben Wallace 4. Marcus Camby 5. Brad Miller This, of course, is provided that Yao makes a full recovery from his foot injury, and if he continues to get the touches he was getting even with a healthy McGrady in the lineup.
Guest NYankees Posted May 14, 2006 Report Posted May 14, 2006 Nets lose again at home. I am sure Bob Barron is upset. Be prepared for Pistons/Heat round 2.
LivingLegendGaryColeman Posted May 14, 2006 Report Posted May 14, 2006 I may be the minority but I'd probably put Kaman and Krstic on the center lists ahead of Camby. Kaman is quickly becoming one of the most underrated players IMO.
alfdogg Posted May 15, 2006 Author Report Posted May 15, 2006 Remember, I picked the Heat at the start of this thread.
Guest NYankees Posted May 15, 2006 Report Posted May 15, 2006 Suns are trying to make a game out of this. They were down 13 but have cut to defecit to 6 points down.
CanadianChris Posted May 15, 2006 Report Posted May 15, 2006 The Clippers are showing exactly how NOT to manage a big lead late. Quick shots, long jumpers, no offensive rebounds. Looks like they could still pull it out, though.
Kurt Angle Mark Posted May 15, 2006 Report Posted May 15, 2006 Big Shots by Brand and Cassell I was about ready to jump off the roof of my house the way the final minutes were going
Guest Vitamin X Posted May 15, 2006 Report Posted May 15, 2006 You see, Clippers fans aren't used to playoff drama.
Ripper Posted May 15, 2006 Report Posted May 15, 2006 Horrible game by the suns shooting wise, but they still almost won. WHY they didn't stick to that automatic offside guy doubling whenever brand touched the ball, I don't know. The suns stole homecourt back, so now they have to hold on in Phoenix on tuesday... ... When exactly is this series going to get its long break like the rest of them have?
Kurt Angle Mark Posted May 15, 2006 Report Posted May 15, 2006 When exactly is this series going to get its long break like the rest of them have? If it goes 7 Game 6 is Thursday Game 7 is on Monday
Guest NYankees Posted May 15, 2006 Report Posted May 15, 2006 When exactly is this series going to get its long break like the rest of them have? If it goes 7 Game 6 is Thursday Game 7 is on Monday That is fucking crazy. What games are scheduled for next sunday?
CanadianChris Posted May 15, 2006 Report Posted May 15, 2006 That is fucking crazy. What games are scheduled for next sunday? The East game 7s are both scheduled for Sunday. There are NO games currently scheduled for Saturday -- the Spurs/Mavs series also would go Friday/Monday -- and that's fucked up.
Kurt Angle Mark Posted May 15, 2006 Report Posted May 15, 2006 Looks like the schedule for the weekend is Saturday No Games Sunday East second round game/s 7 or ECF Game 1 Monday West second round game/s 7 or WCF Game 1
