Cheech Tremendous Posted May 9, 2006 Report Posted May 9, 2006 In other news, Bonds' agent expects him to play in 2007, despite him saying earlier in the year that this would be last season. A move to the AL to DH is likely. In a true WTF moment, his agent said that 1,000 HR would be a possibility if he starts DHing. By my calculations, he'd only need to hit 30 a year until he's 50 to accomplish that. Sounds reasonable.
Vern Gagne Posted May 9, 2006 Report Posted May 9, 2006 That bastard. I thought he only wanted to pass Babe Ruth.
CanadianChris Posted May 9, 2006 Report Posted May 9, 2006 I'm going to be keeping an eye on the Jays-A's game tonight. If Josh Towers gets lit up by one of the worst-hitting teams in the majors, it's time to at least take him out of the rotation, and possibly send him down to Syracuse to try and get some confidence back. Hopefully, it's got more to do with him facing three of the top 7 OPS teams in the AL for five straight starts than anything else, but that still doesn't explain him getting pounded by the Twins at the start of the season.
naiwf Posted May 9, 2006 Report Posted May 9, 2006 I'm visualizing Bonds as a Yankee, which might make him the single most hated athlete in the history of professional sports for eternity.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted May 9, 2006 Report Posted May 9, 2006 Good news for Moneyball fans, as Jeremy Brown is headed for Oakland. Brown has hit .333 so far in Sacramento this season. Also, Gary Sheffield is DL bound and Melky Cabrera is coming back up. Cabrera's crushing the ball at AAA Columbus, hitting .385 thus far. After Cabrera's awful MLB stint last year many prospect analysts wrote him off. Baseball America made him the 15th best prospect in the organization. It's early, but reports of his demise were premature.
Guest NYankees Posted May 9, 2006 Report Posted May 9, 2006 Yankees have a 2-0 lead over the Red Sox following a Jason Giambi 2 run homer.
naiwf Posted May 9, 2006 Report Posted May 9, 2006 The Juice-ambino strikes again! Pedro's down 3-0 after 2. Not a good start to my birthday evening, fortunately I'm going out soon and don't have to watch this much longer.
Guest Smues Posted May 9, 2006 Report Posted May 9, 2006 Braves down 1-0 already after 1 in Florida, which is now delayed because of rain. But Renteria already extended his hitting streak so hurrah Edgar.
devo Posted May 9, 2006 Report Posted May 9, 2006 You know, Reyes' speed would be a lot more useful if he were a good baserunner. Getting picked off with runners at first and third is not a good way to keep a rally going, Jose. Edit: Even if the replay shows you were safe by a mile...
mike546 Posted May 10, 2006 Report Posted May 10, 2006 Randy Johnson has completley lost his confidence. Wow.
Bored Posted May 10, 2006 Author Report Posted May 10, 2006 Good news for Moneyball fans, as Jeremy Brown is headed for Oakland. Brown has hit .333 so far in Sacramento this season. Yup although it will probably only be for Kendall's four game suspension which he's starting tonight.
devo Posted May 10, 2006 Report Posted May 10, 2006 Bannister must be hurt worse than I thought. Lima's starting again on Sunday.
mike546 Posted May 10, 2006 Report Posted May 10, 2006 I've never seen a pitcher just lose his confidence like this. Randy Johnson has NOTHING left.
Guest NYankees Posted May 10, 2006 Report Posted May 10, 2006 Can Randy Johnson please do the Yankees a favor and FUCKING RETIRE. Asshole couldn't get the bottom of the lineup out and it lead to 5 runs so far in 3 2.3 innings.
Guest NYankees Posted May 10, 2006 Report Posted May 10, 2006 Game is now officially over. Red Sox take a 7-2 lead after Melky Cabrerar drops a fucking pop up. Congrats Red Sox on the victory. I hope the Yankees show up tommorow.
mike546 Posted May 10, 2006 Report Posted May 10, 2006 It's not even about the loss its just the fact Randy just looks lost on the mound.
Guest NYankees Posted May 10, 2006 Report Posted May 10, 2006 Cabrera looked lost in RF. Part of me was happy to see him drop it just to tack on more runs onto Home Run Randy's pitching line and era.
Guest Smues Posted May 10, 2006 Report Posted May 10, 2006 Ball 4 and after I think 135 at bats this season Jeff Francoeur draws his first walk of the season. That puts him on pace for 4 or 5 on the season.
Bored Posted May 10, 2006 Author Report Posted May 10, 2006 He's the next Dave Kingman. Lots of power but can't draw a walk to save their life.
devo Posted May 10, 2006 Report Posted May 10, 2006 You suck, Lo Duca. If you take half a second to gain control over that ball, Victorino's out by a good five feet.
NYU Posted May 10, 2006 Report Posted May 10, 2006 It's amazing. Lo Duca is an even worse defensive catcher than Piazza was.
Bruiser Chong Posted May 10, 2006 Report Posted May 10, 2006 Anyone else remember how Yanks & Co. was convinced getting Johnson = World Series?
devo Posted May 10, 2006 Report Posted May 10, 2006 DELGADO~! Two-run bomb ties the game up at four in the top of the ninth.
Guest Smues Posted May 10, 2006 Report Posted May 10, 2006 Anyone else remember how Yanks & Co. was convinced getting Johnson = World Series? Yes. And I remember John Kruk predicting he'd win 30 games last year.
Bruiser Chong Posted May 10, 2006 Report Posted May 10, 2006 DELGADO~! Two-run bomb ties the game up at four in the top of the ninth. Part of me's pissed, since I've got Myers on my fantasy team, but the other isn't livid, since my opposition this week has Tom Gordon.
