Failed Bridge Posted May 10, 2006 Report Posted May 10, 2006 Encino Man is not a Pauly Shore movie. Its a Brendan Frasier movie that happens to have Pauly Shore in it.
Art Sandusky Posted May 10, 2006 Report Posted May 10, 2006 Oh yeah, and everyone knew who Brendan Fraser was back in 1992. It was a Pauly Shore joint, man. Quit frontin'. Unless you wanted to see it for Sean Astin.
Failed Bridge Posted May 10, 2006 Report Posted May 10, 2006 Sean Astin was great in Toy Soldiers so I could see people wanting to see it for him.
Fökai Posted May 10, 2006 Report Posted May 10, 2006 Oh yeah, and everyone knew who Brendan Fraser was back in 1992. Pauly Shore was a nobody at that point too. The movie did $40 million at the box office, which means it did alot of repeat business with people saying "dude, you have to check this movie out. There's this incredibly retarded dude who can make sound effects with his hand".
Art Sandusky Posted May 10, 2006 Report Posted May 10, 2006 Note to self: never discuss the quality of something with these middling, detail-oriented people.

The trailer for it was before "Wayne's World," which is pretty much telling people "If you're going to see this, you might as well see this too." How much box office did "Wayne's World" do?

Pauly Shore was a "nobody" even though he had had his own show on MTV for a long while before Encino Man, etc, came out? I disagree. I wouldn't say that he was a big star (not by any stretch of the imagination) but he certainly wasn't a nobody.
Black Lushus Posted May 11, 2006 Report Posted May 11, 2006 Pauly Shore was one of the main selling points for Encino Man...no one really knew Brendan Fraser yet and Sean Astin was known as "hey, isn't that the kid from Goonies? He got fat!" In fact, that was my response to seeing him in Like Father, Like Son, Toy Soldiers and Rudy. I didn't really notice him until LOTR. LOL, wikipedia says George Of The Jungle was Brendan Fraser's breakout role...I remember him more for Encino Man, School Ties, Bedazzled and the Mummy than I do George Of The stupid Jungle.
Guest Princess Leena Posted May 11, 2006 Report Posted May 11, 2006 I don't know what's worse... Topics about me devolving into soup conversation, or Pauly Shore.
Lord of The Curry Posted May 11, 2006 Report Posted May 11, 2006 When has soup ever dissapointed you?
EricMM Posted May 11, 2006 Report Posted May 11, 2006 You should probably post more pics, that would probably cause more commotion. It's happened like every other time...
Black Lushus Posted May 11, 2006 Report Posted May 11, 2006 I don't know what's worse... Topics about me devolving into soup conversation, or Pauly Shore. soup and Pauly Shore are more interesting than Leena...? I dunno?

Sideburnious Posted May 14, 2006 Report Posted May 14, 2006 Holy shit. It was Sean Astin in California(european titele)/Encino Man. Oh, and Pauly Shore is alright. Well, I enjoyed Jury Duty.
Guest StylesMark Posted May 14, 2006 Report Posted May 14, 2006 Who EVER questioned whether that was Sean Astin or not?
Hawk 34 Posted May 14, 2006 Report Posted May 14, 2006 Who EVER questioned whether that was Sean Astin or not? In 40 years, it won't be Rudy or LOTR that defines Astin's career but Encino Man.

... Posted May 17, 2006 Report Posted May 17, 2006 Actually, more like the kid of the guy who was Gomez on "The Addams Family" sitcom and "Buddy" on Night Court. But I feel MUCH better now!
Guest Felonies! Posted May 17, 2006 Report Posted May 17, 2006 Re: Night Court Was it a family of Yugoslavians posing as a family of West Virginians, or was it a family of West Virginians posing as a family of Yugoslavians? Also, what was the deal with Ellen Foley? How come did she didn't last longer? EDIT: Re: "how come did" Is that from TSM?
FroGG_NeaL Posted May 19, 2006 Report Posted May 19, 2006 I'm almost certain it was a family of West Virginians posing as a family of Yugoslavians. And Pauly Shore has some good movies. Encino Man Bio-Dome Son-in-Law In The Army Now A Goofy Movie... And I recommend Pauly Shore Is Dead. I loved that movie, and it made me like Pauly a hell of a lot more then I did before watching it. Uh... oh, yeah, Leena. I'd hit it. Many times.
