Man Who Sold The World

The Soundtrack To Your Life

Recommended Posts

Doesn't have to be a list that describes you, just if your life was a TV show/Movie what songs would you put in it that would reflect your life and times. Here's mine:

1. Roots "Star"

2. Gnarls Barkeley "Crazy"

3. Andre 3000 "Vibrate"

4. Better Than Ezra "Circle Of Friends"

5. The Prodigy "Breathe"

6. Funeral For A Friend "History"

7. Massive Attack ft. Portishead "Teardrop"

8. Eagles Of Death Metal "Whorehoppin' "

9. Little Brother "Speed"

10. Kansas "Dust in The Wind"

11. Bon Jovi "Wanted Dead or Alive"

12. Eagles "Desperado"

13. Black Label Society "Fire It Up"

14. G. Love And The Special Sauce "Basketball"

15. House Of Pain "Fed Up"

16. The Clash "Rudie Can't Fall"

17. Violent Femmes "Blister In The Sun"

18. Ben Folds "Landed"

19. Lupe Fiasco "Kick Push"

20. Kanye West "Family Business"

21. David Bowie "Under Pressure"

22. Metallica "Don't Tread On Me"

23. Filter "Welcome To The Fold"

Ah I'll end it there, so many more though. I'm leaving out more Violent Femmes, RL Burnside, ALOT of John Coltrane, Jon Spencer's Blues Explosion and harder stuff like Pantera but oh fuckin' well you get the picture. I got the idea because I'm currently writing a screenplay about a troubled teenager who finds happiness in his friends and music (something a few of us can relate to I'm sure).

Matthew Wilder -- "Break My Stride."

That'd be it. The series/movie would be all about shit that tried to bring me down and the music would hit whenever I found my way out of the situation.

Lots of stuff by Townes Van Zandt...lots. Mostly "To Live is to Fly" and "She Came and She Touched Me". And for my dramatic death scene-"Funkytown".

Dead Kennedys - Too Drunk To Fuck

That about sums these recent years up.

Beat me to it.

So:

1) No Leaf Clover- Metallica(the first 'Our' song I ever had)

2) Wheel In The Sky- Journey (My favourite song when I was eight. Somehow, unrelated, became my favourite song to sing while drunk.)

3) Peter Pumpkinhead- Crash Test Dummies

4) Barroom Hero -Dropkick Murphys

5) Eulogy-Tool.

6) Cigaro- System of a Down - I often sang this while boning my first.

7) Jumpdafuckup -Soulfly (my backyard theme)

8) She Loves Me Not- Papa Roach (default depression song from 2001-2004)

9) I Got High- Afroman

10) Short skirt, long jacket - Cake

11) Lithium - Nirvana

12) The Hockey Song - Stompin Tom

13) Sepulnation or Choke - Sepultura

14) Hangover- Max Webster

15) Highway Girl - The Tragically Hip (the live one where he talks about double suicide)

16) Can I cheat and include the theme that plays on every Masters broadcast?
