Why in the hell was Charlie Manuel using Abraham Nunez (with a .080-something batting average) to pinch-hit in a key spot last night? Why not get Chris Coste in there? Or Delucci? Or let Fasano bat? Or the bat boy? Or a beer vendor? Somebody, anybody other than Nunez.

Also, Roger Dorn out there in right field is starting to get on my nerves.

How come a decent looking millionaire named Al Leiter is surrounded by a bunch of ugly fat chicks and two douches? You would never see Derek Jeter surrounded by that group playing beer pong.

There are a couple of sites where diamond rats post their exploits, along with some pics.

I got these from this site: http://itsasecretsohush.blogspot.com/2006/...-your-dues.html

Okay, try it now.

The best ones are those that lead to the Red Sox party, where all the girls wind up with the World Series rings on their fingers. Good to know those things went to good use.

Yeah. Mr. Potato Head would be with ugly fat guys, and the douches.

So, I hear Tony Womack's gonna be the starting 2nd baseman for the Cubs this weekend...probably. In other news, Brad Lidge is still broken. In still other news, Al Leiter has mediocre taste in women.

Hey, Al Leiter was a mediocre pitcher and he's mediocre in the booth, so it only makes sense that he has mediocre taste in women. Raise your glass for Al Leiter, a shining example of complete mediocrity.

Not that you all didn't know this, but Jeremi Gonzalez fucking sucks. 2 HRs allowed (Abreu & Howard) already, Burrell missed one by about 3 feet, and the Mets again trail 3-0 Top 1. This guy needs to get taken out to the barn already.

Holy shit. Jose Reyes is going to destroy his power numbers from last year. Three-run homer in the second ties the game at three.

The 'Stros were gettin' pummeled by the Nats 7-1, but have made it a two run game in the 6th, mainly due to the horrible throwing arm of Matthe LeCroy. The 'Stros have been running liberally, stealing 5 bases on him in the last three innings. Andy Pettitte is still struggling, however.

Yeah, listening to this, I think I could snag one off of LeCroy. Just horrible.

The Astros are almost running too liberally though. Why they keep stealing third and risking the out in a game they trail(ed) by 5 runs is a mystery to me. The reward of a marginal improvement in scoring chance at the risk of precious outs isn't worth it in a game like this.

But it doesn't matter now. Jason Lane is up. Rally over.

Six steals in three innings...mostly due to the badness of LeCroy's arm. I think he's like...0 for 20 in throwing runners out. The two times he did try to throw, he missed the target terribly. And Ryan Zimmerman is awesome.

Edit: I think this aggressiveness from Phil Garner is directly related to the suckiness of the Astros hitters recently. I like the approach. If we're only gonna score two runs in two games, try to at least go down with a fight.

Al try checking out Matt Garza when the New Britian Rock Cats come to Reading in about a month. He's been lights out in two starts in Double AA. 22 So's and 13.2 IP.

This is gettin' ridiculous. 7 steals in 3+ innings. Twice LeCroy threw the ball into centerfield and the runner went to third. I'm sure there can be numerous "There hasn't been this much stealing in Washington D.C. since..." jokes made.

Man alive, Frank Robinson just pulled his catcher in the 7th inning due to his inability to throw out any baserunners. I can only imagine the ass-chewing he's gonna get.

Oh, it's just Frank Robinson. Whenever he's angry, it just makes me think of someone stealing a retired man's applesauce at an early bird buffet.

My favorite Angry Frank Robinson moment is last year when he had that about 3 minute staredown with...I think Rick Reed. That was money, baby.

Frank Robinson umpire confrontations are usually my favorites because moreso than usual confrontations, it seems like poor Frank gets totally blown off. He'll just shuffle around pointing his finger at the ump and all that jazz, but the umpire has his back turned the whole time. The whole incident last year against the Angels was good stuff too, by the way.

I think the only Dusty Baker confrontation I can remember was one time against the Padres when the umpire ejected Larry Rothschild for mumbling something about him. Then he kinda acted upset, but usually in the cases where Cox or La Russa would correctly step up and have a word, Dusty just kinda sits there.

Frank Robinson reminds me of an old, bitter Bill Cosby, who finally went insane because his damn kids kept moving back into the house. Dusty Baker reminds me of Fat Albert, clueless and just wants everybody to like him.

He was against LeCroy as a catcher, though, wasn't he? I thought Bowden was the one who wanted to use him as a catcher.

Ozzie Guillen = Mushmouth

Come on. You telegraphed it.

Also, Jim Bowden is like the worst GM in baseball. Worse than Allard Baird or Jim Hendry. Why is he employed?

Yeah, I was just waiting for somebody to make the Ozzie=Mushmouth joke. I bet if we tried, we could get all the Junkyard Gang managing teams.

Frank really had to use LeCroy as a catcher. Schneider's on the DL till tomorrow and his only other option, Wiki Gonzales, besides being terrible, just got put on the DL yesterday. I guess they could've used that Robert Fick guy, but neither are really any good, I guess.

I think that the Nats PR department should work up something ala the WWE and The Big Show and start saying on air that you can't really appreciate the size of John Rauch until you come out to the ballpark and see him in person.

Why does Bobby Abreu need to attempt to steal 2nd base w/ Ryan Howard batting? He got caught, thus ending the inning w/ Howard at the plate. Even if he's successful, that gives the pitcher an opportunity to pitch around Howard to get to the slumping Rollins. I don't get the logic here. He did that all the time in front of Thome, too.
