Bruiser Chong 0 Report post Posted May 27, 2006 Oh well. If you're going to be bad, go full out. I'm discouraged the Indians have been so mediocre this season. If they don't do something about their pitching, they won't even be a factor in that division.
KingPK 0 Report post Posted May 27, 2006 Looks like David Wells can call it a career as he leaves the game after getting smacked in the knee by a line drive. That's pretty much the Baseball Gods giving you a sign to hang em' up.

Guest Report post Posted May 27, 2006 Brett Tomko looked like...well...Brett Tomko. Francisco Liriano is what Felix Hernandez should be. Too bad the Twins bullpen will probably blow the game.

CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted May 27, 2006 Any word on whether the Yankees game is likely to resume? I want to see what creative way KC comes up with to lose this one.
Hawk 34 0 Report post Posted May 27, 2006 Any word on whether the Yankees game is likely to resume? I want to see what creative way KC comes up with to lose this one. Considering how poorly they play, they might think they are playing a 12 yr old youth league game and think the game is called and they are getting juice boxes from Berroa's mom and thus, they lose the game via forfeit. vivalaultra 0 Report post Posted May 27, 2006 Well, the 'Stros dropped their 4th in a row. Luckily Jim Tracy was not seen crying during the post-game interview. The Astros always play terribly during May, so not too worried yet. If they don't take the next two games, it might be time to worry. I kinda wish that if they were gonna lose, they'd be more like the Cubbies and do it with style. At any rate, Brad Lidge looked Lights Out pitching in the 7th, so maybe he's just a 7th inning kinda guy now. And I was joking about the Cubs thing. In no way, shape, or form do I ever hope that the Astros look anything like the Cubs, but I'd totally do a Jason Lane and Brad Lidge for D. Lee and Carlos Zambrano trade. Straight up. naiwf 0 Report post Posted May 27, 2006 4 straight losses for the Mets when Pedro starts. This is not a good trend. The Yankees are about to pull this one off against KC as expected. Scratch that, the "Giambino" just grounded into a 4-6-3 DP to end it.
treble 0 Report post Posted May 27, 2006 So, Troy Glaus started at shortstop tonight? That must have gotten some funny looks when the lineups were posted.
Cuban Linx 0 Report post Posted May 27, 2006 The joys of being the least worst team in a division, Texas the only team over .500 in the AL West, with a record good enough to be equal last in the NL West With 8 of their next 11 against Oakland, Seattle and Kansas City maybe they can be the team that steps out of mediocrity in the division, Teixeira not taking 18 games between home runs again and Millwood not pitching like Chan Ho would be a nice start at least. Guest Report post Posted May 27, 2006 So, Troy Glaus started at shortstop tonight? That must have gotten some funny looks when the lineups were posted. That's his natural position. Hasn't played it in a long time, and it is weird to see him there, but that's where he played in college.
Bruiser Chong 0 Report post Posted May 27, 2006 Dusty Baker was quoted yesterday as saying he just doesn't know what's going on. I wish someone would point out that maybe having Neifi Perez batting second isn't exactly a good way to jumpstart the offense. Oh well, I'm sure he thinks Tony Womack will be the answer. In other news, Chris Carpenter may be DL-bound. Maybe the Cubs will pay attention and note how even if the Cards struggle during his absence, you'll never hear them go, "We'll get going as soon as we get Carpenter back." naiwf 0 Report post Posted May 27, 2006 Does anyone have a link to the chart that showed the percentage of the time where a team scores at least a run with a man on 3rd and less than 2 outs? I swear the Mets get that run home maybe 3% of the time this year. If we don't get a bases loaded walk it's almost guaranteed that the man on 3rd, and often times second as well, will get stranded. How hard is it to hit a ball to the outfield for a sac fly at least once in every 10 opportunities?

Guest Felonies! Report post Posted May 27, 2006 Shut up. It's a nationally televised game, or at least multi-regional. Of course they're going to show teams with large fanbases. If I'm running a major network, I'm going to pick Chicago and Atlanta over, say, Minnesota and Seattle.
Bruiser Chong 0 Report post Posted May 27, 2006 Boy, that Sean Marshall sure is fun to watch. Get to quick outs, get ahead of the catcher and then get cute with him, walk him, give up a hit to the pitcher, double to the leadoff man and make a bad throw to the cutoff man that allows said pitcher, bad hammy and all, to score from first. Longest sentence ever.

If I'm running a major network, I'm going to pick Chicago and Atlanta over, say, Minnesota and Seattle. I would do the same. I'd rather see the White Sox and Blue Jays or the Cardinals-Padres. Those are matchups wth winning teams and large fanbases.
