iggymcfly Posted June 2, 2006 Report Posted June 2, 2006 MONSTER, MONSTER game for Dirk tonight. He's got 41 thus far, and the Suns can't stop him at all. When that jumper's going, he's just a cold-blooded killer. Oh, and it figures Thomas would be a Cena mark. Talk about gay.
Hogan Made Wrestling Posted June 2, 2006 Report Posted June 2, 2006 What a HUGE fucking game by Dirk! 50 points and 11 rebounds, and every 3-ball he puts up is dropping. This guy is a total monster.
The Robfather Posted June 2, 2006 Report Posted June 2, 2006 I'd say Dirk rebounded from that bad game ha ha
iggymcfly Posted June 2, 2006 Report Posted June 2, 2006 That was the one thing that bothered me about Avery is that he'd gotten Dirk away from shooting that 3-pointer. He's got the prettiest jumper in the league, and when he's truly three-dimensional (as he was tonight), no one can stop him.
Guest Smues Posted June 2, 2006 Report Posted June 2, 2006 Dallas needs to win game 6 and end the series so that TNT is done with basketball for the season and I never have to hear that song again.
naiwf Posted June 2, 2006 Report Posted June 2, 2006 Raise your right hand if you're the best player in the NBA this year.
Damaramu Posted June 2, 2006 Report Posted June 2, 2006 Weren't you one of the ones saying Kobe was the best player this year when they were playing Phoenix?
Guest Posted June 2, 2006 Report Posted June 2, 2006 He still is, everyone just likes the guy who goes deeper in the playoffs. 2nd best is still great.
Damaramu Posted June 2, 2006 Report Posted June 2, 2006 Well I know one thing after last night's game. Everyone talks about Dwayne Wade and how he can just take a game over and refuse to lose. Dirk just proved he can do it and how. It'll be interesting if he does match up against Dwayne Wade and see who can will their team to victory. That possibility actually got me excited about a possible Miami/Dallas series. All it took was a 50 point gutsy performance by Dirk! I do wish he wouldn't run down the court with his tongue hanging out though.
Guest Coffey Posted June 2, 2006 Report Posted June 2, 2006 I hope Dirk and the Mavs go on to win the series and I hope Dirk drops another fifty against either Miami or Detroit. Why? Well, because it, apparently, doesn't mean that much when he does it against Phoenix because "they don't play defense anyway." I get tired of hearing that crap. Dirk had a monster game and outside of a Sportscenter highlight and the 50 points being mentioned again before game six, it'll be mostly forgotten. Dirk is one of the most entertaining guys in the league to watch.
USC Wuz Robbed! Posted June 2, 2006 Report Posted June 2, 2006 My worry is that Dirk is going to have a letdown game. I just hope he can still score 20+ points and the supporting cast drops enough points to beat Phoenix. I really don't want a Game 7.
Edwin MacPhisto Posted June 2, 2006 Report Posted June 2, 2006 I think you're gonna get one. This was basically the reverse of game 4--very close till the end of the third, beginning of the fourth quarter, at which point the home team just goes bananas and makes it look like the whole game was a rout. I doubt either team falls apart like that again, so I'm guessing this'll make it back to Dallas. I really hope it does, because this has been another real good series in the list of great ones so far this year.
naiwf Posted June 2, 2006 Report Posted June 2, 2006 Weren't you one of the ones saying Kobe was the best player this year when they were playing Phoenix? No, I said Kobe's the most talented player in the league. Dirk was the best all around player this year and should have been the MVP.
Just John Posted June 2, 2006 Report Posted June 2, 2006 I think it's only fitting for Phoenix to play a 3rd Game 7. It'd also be fitting of this post-season for the ECF to go to Game 7, too. Although, I really hope Miami puts it away tonight.
iggymcfly Posted June 2, 2006 Report Posted June 2, 2006 If you think Dirk didn't get enough attention last night, this Bill Simmons article might make you feel better: Time to put Dirk in Pantheon
naiwf Posted June 2, 2006 Report Posted June 2, 2006 From said article One more classic D'Antoni maneuver: Whenever an opponent is shooting a free throw on the side near Phoenix's bench, he always pretends to be complaining about the call, only he plants himself in the corner of the shooter's eye and deliberately wanders back and forth right as the guy is shooting. Utterly devious. That's a team of floppers, cheaters and guys who push off every time they drive to the basket; they're about four more flops away from being eligible for the 2006 World Cup. How does Ginobili not play for these guys? It must kill him. All right, I'm babbling ... Word.
Brett Favre Posted June 2, 2006 Report Posted June 2, 2006 Since you're always complaining about the Suns complaining to the refs, naiwf, why don't you give Dirk his due, who got taunted by Tim Thomas yesterday for doing the same shit throughout the whole series. If theres a guy who complains now more than ever, its him.
naiwf Posted June 2, 2006 Report Posted June 2, 2006 Since you're always complaining about the Suns complaining to the refs, naiwf, why don't you give Dirk his due, who got taunted by Tim Thomas yesterday for doing the same shit throughout the whole series. If theres a guy who complains now more than ever, its him. When has Dirk complained about being fouled when he wasn't actually hit? When has Dirk flopped like a fish out of water because someone tried to back him down in the series? When has a reporter or commentator called him on flopping, or pushing off, or trying to tackle a guy by the jersey? See, Dirk actually gets HIT and then complains. The Suns do NOT, and then complain. It's not even close to being the same thing. Ginobili, Duncan, Parker, Bowen and Pops play the same game that Phoenix does. Dirk doesn't.
Hogan Made Wrestling Posted June 2, 2006 Report Posted June 2, 2006 I loved that point of the game last night where someone on Phoenix got T'd up and then they all started bitching. Then another technical gets called right as they are going to a commercial.

I was seeing if you were going to post a book on how the Mavs are ruining basketball with all their flopping and such. Because last night, the Mavs were the floppers. But of course, thats different because its not the suns. Jason Terry, Darryl Armstrong, Devin Harris, DIRK...flopping all over the place. And I have no problem with it because not one bad call was made. When it was no foul, nothing was called and when there was a foul they called it. As for the techs, Raja didn't get called for complaining the call. He got called for unnecessary contact after the play, it was actually Howard bitching at the refs. People saying he was bitching are simply making shit up. The exact same thing got called on Jason Terry a few plays later. Mike D'Antoni was not bitching about the call, he was talking about the same thing happening with Marion the play before and they called nothing. Good game by the Mavs, both teams have dominated the other for one game, and Dirk was incredible. The suns just need to come out strong in game 6 (which I believe they will do) and play that dreaded game 7in Dallas.
Ripper Posted June 2, 2006 Report Posted June 2, 2006 MONSTER, MONSTER game for Dirk tonight. He's got 41 thus far, and the Suns can't stop him at all. When that jumper's going, he's just a cold-blooded killer. Oh, and it figures Thomas would be a Cena mark. Talk about gay. You guys do know that nearly everything that Cena does is stolen from some "rapper" right? I say "rapper" because he took that from Tony Yayo, and i don't think that what he does qualifies with rap. Honestly I would think that the Jersey native, Hip hop listening to guy is taking the "you can't see me" thing from the guy in G Unit, not the guy in wrestling.
naiwf Posted June 3, 2006 Report Posted June 3, 2006 If Miami wins this game without Wade, Detroit should be ashamed of themselves.
bobobrazil1984 Posted June 3, 2006 Report Posted June 3, 2006 Pistons in desperate need of an inside offensive presence and easy shots. Like I said in the other thread, i'm in favor of dealing a Wallace for someone who can actually score inside. Sheed isn't versatile anymore, he's purely perimeter.
naiwf Posted June 3, 2006 Report Posted June 3, 2006 The Pistons have officially quit. Never thought I'd see it.
Brett Favre Posted June 3, 2006 Report Posted June 3, 2006 What can the Pistons do if Williams doesn't miss a shot, and Wade makes like fadeaway shots with like 3 people on him?
naiwf Posted June 3, 2006 Report Posted June 3, 2006 They can try to drive to the basket instead of bricking three point shots all day. 3 for 15 isn't gonna cut it. I really don't care if they keep playing retarded offense because the Pistons are getting shitted on and I for one am loving it.
Damaramu Posted June 3, 2006 Report Posted June 3, 2006 Damn. I hate the fact that the Pistons are losing. I hope LA V.2 loses to Phoenix or Dallas though. I'd puke if Payton or Zo' got a ring.
Mr. S£im Citrus Posted June 3, 2006 Report Posted June 3, 2006 So, since Detroit has apparently decided to lay down, that means my only hope of keeping the trophy out of Cuban's hands are either rooting for a team I don't like (Suns) or a team I can't stand (Heat).
