NBA Conference Finals

Recommended Posts

Funny how Dallas loses Nash and Finley with no compensation in consecutive years, and then give them both their fishing rods while heading to the NBA Finals for the first time.

It was 1957. Boston vs St. Louis.

Baltimore won in 1948.

Depends on what you consider the NBA Finals. Baltimore won in 1948 when the major basketball league was the Basketball Association of America (BBA).

Hell of a year for the suns and hell of a playoff run. Team went from being a laughing stock two years ago to the team people were bandwagon jumping on (or in some peoples cases, became whiners over their success which is just as telling).

I expect nothing less than a NBA championship next year.

I am routing for Dallas to win it all, despite the fact that it appears that noone in Dallas (writers in particular) have shown any class when it comes to them winning( I am sorry, but they have been sore winners this year). Dirk, Avery, and Keith Van Horn(hells yeah) are guys I really want to see succeed and I still got love for Jason Terry from his Hawks years.

I still think that the Officials killed this game dead for the suns when they had to start pulling Diaw, Barbosa, and Thomas because of the horrid foul calls in the first half. But Dirk turned it on and the suns couldn't recover.

Because all that cap space and other moves they made equaled no compesation....

Shame about Phoenix losing, I wonder how they would've done if Amare had been healthy all year.

Anyway, now that Dallas is in the Finals, I'm rooting for them for one reason, what Mark Cuban's reaction would be if they won, based off an old Bill Simmons article. Would he start hysterically sobbing or laughing maniacally while taking a shot at David Stern when he gets presented with the trophy?

But they lost a 2-time, back to back MVP and got better. When has that ever happened in the history of the NBA? :asshole2:

I'm a bandwagoner Suns fan. Well, I sorta liked them in the KJ/JK/Chapman days, and I liked Marbury in Phoenix too. But it comes full circle now. In the West, I like the Suns.

I say a healthy Amare means no coming out party for Boris Diaw who now can pair with him on a front line that is simply going to be unstoppable.

I think that the loss of Raja Bell was bigger for the Suns in this series. But he too has had a coming out party this offseason. Barring any big injury, I don't see how the Suns aren't the team to beat.

The Mavs better do everything they possibly can to get David Hasselhoff to their home games during the Finals.

He needs to perform at half-time.

Yeah, but according to you Nash shouldn't have either one of his MVP trophys. So basically, your basketball opinon doesn't mean much.

Fact of the matter is the only reason Dallas doesn't have a ring right now is because of a Dirk injury against the Spurs a few years back. The let nash go, added Jason Terry, a bigger role for Josh Howard, Jerry Stackhouse, solid play at the center, Devin Harris and a great new Coach.

They let go one great player and added 5-6 other pieces.

The 1948 Baltimore Bullets weren't the 1971 Baltimore Bullets, though. The '71 Bullets were the old Chicago Zephyrs, who later became the Capital Bullets (what?), then the Washington Bullets, then the Washington Wizards. The first Bullets club just folded. Think of it as the old Milwaukee Brewers and Baltimore Orioles from the early 1900s that later became the (help me on the first one Al I wanna say St. Louis Browns who then became the present O's) and the New York Yankees, resp.

That's the one reason I'm glad the Suns are out, even though I like them as a team overall. I'm really sick of Raja Bell.

oh fuck, boris has to sit out.. not good news for the suns

I kinda called it. Diaw was on fire, looking to maybe have a Dirk night, then fouls forced him to sit out the rest of the quarter. When he came back out, he was cold. It changed the whole game.

I actually think the suns are in trouble after this piss poor officating in the first half.

Adjusted Fouls should be like 1 on Tim Thomas, 2 on Barbosa, 1 on Diaw, 2 on Harris and 2 on Terry. Terry's second and Harris's 2nd were both a crock of crap.

I called it one post before you!!!

I think Barbosa's hurt too, because his offensive game was on tonight, but he had to sit because of the dumbass foul calls.
