MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted June 3, 2006 The sad fact is, the Os will probably lose this game cause they couldn't hit lefthanded pitching to save their lives..but look at this Yankee lineup: Damon Cabrera Jeter Posada Williams Phillips Cano Cairo Thompson uh..yeah
naiwf 0 Report post Posted June 3, 2006 Even with most of their starting lineup out (1 first ballot HOFer, a guy who may get in especially if he hits 500 HRs, a former MVP, and a guy who is good for 100 RBI every year) they still have one surefire HOFer, and 3 other multiple time allstars in the mix. That's why people hate the Yanks.
strummer 0 Report post Posted June 3, 2006 Every game he plays, Ramon Castro is proving last season was one of the biggest fluke years in Mets history. He has been AWFUL this year
mike546 0 Report post Posted June 3, 2006 All these injuries have actually helped in a way, as this team is a LOT less relient on HRs, and more on singles and doubles and moving runners over. I'm not saying they are a "small ball" team, their just a lot less relient on HRs.
MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted June 3, 2006 The Os sure are putting their speed to good use so far this year between Roberts and Patterson.. Tejada just knocked in Roberts to tie the game up..and then Hernandez makes it 3-1 with a 2 run HR.
naiwf 0 Report post Posted June 3, 2006 I know we discussed this within the last month or so, but I'm more confident than ever that the Big Eunuch will not win 300 games. He's been horrendous all year and is lucky to have a couple of the wins he does simply because the Yanks scored 6+ runs.
MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted June 3, 2006 Randy Johnson manhandled the Os earlier in the year back at Yankee Stadium..which is why I wasn't too optimistic about todays game, but so far so good.
strummer 0 Report post Posted June 3, 2006 I've noticed the YES announcers have become very snappy and short when defending the Yankees in the past week or so (more so than usual). George must have sent a memo.
naiwf 0 Report post Posted June 3, 2006 Pujols hurt an oblique muscle, and Cardinals Nation is sending up prayers that he's not going to be out for a while. You might be able to replace Edmonds or Rolen, but without Albert they'll be as offensively successful as the Cubbies without D. Lee.
The Man in Blak 0 Report post Posted June 3, 2006 Word is that Pujols felt a "pop" in that oblique. That can't be good.
naiwf 0 Report post Posted June 3, 2006 Fucking El Duque gives up an RBI triple to Pedro Feliz with slothlike Barry Bonds on first, and a 2 run HR to a rookie making his debut to give San Fran a 5-4 lead. Willie of course left him in too long to "save the bullpen". There's no way the Mets will do any damage in September and beyond with this testicle managing the club. strummer 0 Report post Posted June 3, 2006 El Duke is throwing pure slop out there. I don't care how "clutch" he is or pitches well in big games.
The Man in Blak 0 Report post Posted June 3, 2006 And Mulder hits Pierre with a 54 mph curveball that just seemed to die in midair. Quite possibly the most pathetic HBP I've ever seen, and it loads the bases for Chicago.
Guest Report post Posted June 3, 2006 Brad Penny's making up for his shit start on Monday with a 1 hit gem today. He's mowing the Phillies down, and Nomar's 3-3.
naiwf 0 Report post Posted June 3, 2006 Just make sure Baez doesn't pitch today.
Guest Report post Posted June 3, 2006 I'm sure that he will. He won't be left in to blow more than a run. They brought out Hamulack. Help us all.
UZI Suicide 0 Report post Posted June 3, 2006 Why does Grady Little always pull Brad Penny after 6 innings?
The Man in Blak 0 Report post Posted June 3, 2006 Because Penny burns up a lot of pitches to retire batters - he was at 112 pitches when they took him out today.
Guest Report post Posted June 3, 2006 He made 112 pitches. EDIT: Beaten to it.

EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted June 3, 2006 Reading the credits in the middle of an inning has to be one of the most annoying tv habits to develop the last few years.
Guest Felonies! Report post Posted June 3, 2006 Especially if it's not the 9th. I've heard "our producer is" as early as the 7th.
EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted June 3, 2006 Comcast Philly is carrying the SWB/Indianapolis game tonight. It's sad to look at Victory Field and then have to go to our own home park in Scranton, which is increasingly drab.
the max 0 Report post Posted June 3, 2006 I think a cartoon rain cloud is following the Red Sox. They are the kings of the rainout. I hope they call this game, as there's a 1p start tomorrow and starting the game at ~830 could result in the game ending pretty late. Play two tomorrow. naiwf 0 Report post Posted June 3, 2006 The Mets blew another lead, and a chance to get two men into scoring position as they do not score with 1st and 2nd and 1 out in the 9th against Fire Marshall Benitez. These dudes have no fundamentals whatsoever. I imagine this is what it's like being a Cubs fan.
Guest Report post Posted June 3, 2006 El Duque should never have been left in to pitch the 6th. They deserved to lose.
naiwf 0 Report post Posted June 3, 2006 El Duque should never have been left in to pitch the 6th. They deserved to lose. You're preaching to the choir. Willie's a douche when it comes to trying to steal innings from guys with nothing left. All he ends up doing is stealing losses. What difference does it make if the pen has to go 3 or 4 as long as you get the 'W'?
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted June 3, 2006 The Yankees need to stop worrying about going after starters at the trade deadline, and start thinking about relievers. Proctor blew another two-run lead in the bottom of the 8th.
Guest Report post Posted June 3, 2006 Scott Proctor got rocked. The only thing that the Yanks have enough in the system to trade for is a bullpen.
