Angle-plex 0 Report post Posted June 7, 2006 If they book RVD to job to Cena on Sunday I'd love to see he and Heyman just refuse and walk out completely. I can't imagine Rob letting all the fans down by jobbing to Cena after he was so passionate about last year's event.
2GOLD 0 Report post Posted June 7, 2006 If they book RVD to job to Cena on Sunday I'd love to see he and Heyman just refuse and walk out completely. I can't imagine Rob letting all the fans down by jobbing to Cena after he was so passionate about last year's event. Rob and Paul won't go anywhere, Vince will give them the "look at the big picture" speech he gives everyone, flash some money in their face and both will sit and enjoy. I don't blame them. The worst that happens is they get paid to do next to nothing.
Angle-plex 0 Report post Posted June 7, 2006 They won't walk out, but I would love it just for the backstage reports the following week. RVD tapping to the STFU would actually be worth the price of the PPV. I would pay extra if the bumped Joey for Jim Ross or sent Haas out to the ring after Joey gave an opening speech. Guest ECWlivesdotcom Report post Posted June 7, 2006 Well, they pretty much ruined the hype for this pay per view tonight. Angle vs Orton is a WWE match. Cena puts over ECW in his promo and takes on all the ECW guys. Rob Van Dam, The Sandman, Sabu get run off by....Carlito and Murdoch? Making RVD and ECW cowardly heels probably wasn't the best move at this point. Agreed, but I wouldn't say cowardly, they made sure to show that the whole locker room came out, minus Triple H, Edge & Foley of course making it like 6 on 20 if they had stayed in the ring. I think they (the writers) thought there would be more ECW fans in the crowd. They had everyone come in and go out thru the crowd and the only one who managed to get a portion of the crowd into chanting "ECW" was Terry Funk after the segment. They were looking to bring out the emotion that ECW fans have at ECW events, but it just didn't work, to huge a venue to many "sprots entertainment" fans in attendace. I think it would have been better if the freakin table had broke.
brokentusk16 0 Report post Posted June 7, 2006 I can't believe that even WWE creative can't see how stupid it looks to have Angle/Orton on an ECW named PPV. Well, now that Angle is an ECW wrestler, they must see it as a "WWE vs. ECW" match.........which it isn't. If they pulled this match at a WWE vs. ECW ppv next year, then I could see it, but not now. USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted June 7, 2006 I just realized something that is a possibility. What if Orton is actually set to go to ECW? Think about it: A. He might be punished by missing out on regular PPV paydays and working more live shows for less money. B. He's reduced to going to the "C" brand/show. C. WWE might feel they need more "star" power in ECW.

Guest BrokenWings Report post Posted June 7, 2006 I'd like to see RVD win the title, and then throw it down ala Shane Douglas, to be honest.

Lil' Bitch 0 Report post Posted June 7, 2006 ^ Sweet. Would it have been so hard to book Angle / Malenko? I would have paid to see that since Benoit is injured.

WWE might feel they need more "star" power in ECW. I expect Orton to lose, as part of his 'punishment', so if they want him to go to ECW he'll have an excuse to do so. Of course, if Orton does go to ECW, what happens on Smackdown?

Downhome 0 Report post Posted June 7, 2006 Also, from PWInsider: Sources have informed us that former ECW Triple Crown Champion Mikey Whipwreck will be accompanying Tajiri & Crazy for their match with the FBI. The TV Guide website plugged WWE vs. ECW on their "Hot List" of shows they are looking forward to watching tonight and praised the return of ECW, describing the special as, "One of the wildest enterprises in pro wrestling returns to prime time as the hard-core heroes of Extreme Championship Wrestling take on WWE superstars in Dayton, Ohio. The heated rivalry between ECW, a cult fave in the mid-1990s, and the (still) wildly popular WWE should play like a testosterone-fueled soap opera in tights, with plenty of intrigue, double-crossing characters and high-flying action. Look for John Cena, Triple H, Rob Van Dam and Mick Foley to be in the thick of things."

Art Sandusky 0 Report post Posted June 7, 2006 Tajiri is easily in my top three favorite ECW workers. All through 2000 I looked forward to no one else's matches in quite the same way. Here's hoping the wrestling styles will be as or more authentic than it was last year.

Lil' Bitch 0 Report post Posted June 7, 2006 Since Lawler is on the card, was there a blow-off to his feud with ECW? I remember that one time he showed up in the ECW arena after the lights off and the ECW fans went apeshit with pure, unadulterated hate!
