For those of you talking about Stern being phony, Cuban put on a pretty nice show there. They're all the same.

"Best friends" my ass.

You are aware that the "best friends" line was a shot at Stern right?

Yes, but when I first heard it, it didn't come to my mind.

If he really wanted to say something, he could have said it flatout instead of using subtleties. After all, that's what we want.

He should have said "I hate David Stern". No need to screw around.

Why be blunt when you know it just leads to another $250,000. Now he can say he didn't say anything mean but everyone knows what was really being said.

Cuban Vs Stern is Austin/McMahon redux only this time the rebel has the bad hair.

Exactly. How much longer until a website titled FireDavidStern.com comes up?

I have too much faith in Dirk to get really pissed. I believe with all my heart that he's scoring a minimum of 40 points tonight (56 if I had to guess a number), the Mavs will dominate the Heat, and they'll eventually win the title. Pissed off Dirk is as good as MJ in his prime. He's like the fucking Hulk that way.

I wasn't joking about this either. When the Mavs needs a big game, Dirk comes up HUGE. He is absolutely dominating this game thus far.

I don't know if it was the angle, but that had to be one of the biggest flops this side of Manu Ginobli I've ever seen (re. the first "foul" on Wade).

Well, the "foul" on Daniels marks the third time tonight where Wade's got to the line on absolute bullshit. There was the flop where he wasn't touched, one time where he elbowed the defender as hard as he could and got to the line and then this last one.

Dirk stopped being aggressive in the second quarter, while Stackhouse, Harris, and Howard decided that the solution was for them to take the defense on 1-on-5. Avery will get it fixed in the second half. They looked like they were in trouble against San Antonio and Phoenix at various points too, but they turned it on when they needed to.

If Miami wins the title it will be an unearned title that they don't deserve. They didn't beat the Mavericks in 4 games. As it is right now they've won maybe 2 completely fairly.

You guys need to get over yourselves. The officiating has been poor in a couple of games, but that doesn't mean Miami didn't earn the title if they win it. Don't forget that Dallas guys have choked at the ends of the past few games when given many chances to put it away; bad officiating is a factor, but not THE factor, and there is no be-all end-all of deciding the outcomes of these games.

Those 2 minute with the floating camera were terrible.

Right now, Dallas is just throwing the ball away left and right and no one's going to the lane. Dirk might have 20something points but he's really not feeling like a factor now. Where are you, aggressive Dirk?

I've got that anxious feeling in the pit of my stomach. The good news is that the last time I felt like that was Game 5 against Phoenix, whe the Suns took a 9 point lead in the 3rd before Dirk took over and ended up with 51. Still though, the Mavs need to step it up now on the offensive end or else they're going to give away the season.

God, this is a hell of a game. It's probably just the possibility of elimination, but it feels about 100x more intense to me than Game 5. I didn't really expect the Mavs to win Game 5, so I felt like it was kind of a bonus if they did. This game though, I've had my heart in my throat since just after the start of the 2nd half. The Mavs are coming on, and I still feel good about a victory, but I'm definitely into uber-nervous mode. Cocky mode left the building a while ago.

I'm calling it now, THE NINE will be a bomb.

It's by the guy who created Without a Trace, and the pilot got a positive review from thefutoncritic. Plus, it has Chi McBride, so I'll check it out.

I'm just infering to the constant promotion for it. It worked for FOX with House but didn't it fail for pretty much everything else.

I like McBride but I think the mass hype this series isn't doing it favors.

This is a really lopsidedly officiated game.

I buy that complaint for game 5, but this game? The reason Dallas isn't getting foul shots is because they're putting up 10-15 foot jumpers four out of five trips down the court.

It doesn't look good for the Mavs at this point. Every time they get something going, one of the Heat role players, be it Haslem or Mourning or Walker, steps up and makes a big play. Defensively, Miami is playing their best game of the series.

Lost got tons of promo time, so did Desperate Housewives. Sometimes it works, sometimes not.

Watching Zo play like this is making me throw up in my mouth

Dallas has Miami in the penalty with 7:06 to go. The refs really need to stop favoring the Heat.
