Art Sandusky 0 Report post Posted June 17, 2006 You'll be happy to hear that Fox doesn't want to pick up baseball for 2007 because they're losing money. Good thing, I say. I think this line from Kotz sums it up well: Kyliejunge: (laser blasts destroy a tower of Babel made out of baseball bats and produce a massive robot player upon their impact which fires its dual quad laser cannons straight at the viewer) YOU'RE WATCHING THE WORLD SERIES... Bored 0 Report post Posted June 17, 2006 Ok if anyone can give me a GOOD reason the Angels sent down Jered Weaver who is 4-0 with a 1.37 ERA today to activate Bartolo Colon i'll give them a cookie. Seriously there had to be some other way to get Colon back into the rotation and on the roster right?.,...right?! They would have had to waive or trade his brother but it would have certainly been worth it even with the awkwardness of Jered costing his brother his job. Jeff is only on a one-year contract so eating his salary or picking up most of it in a trade wouldn't have been a big deal. But hey if the Angels want to keep on losing fine by me. Guest NYankees Report post Posted June 17, 2006 Soriano has 16 stolen bases and 24 homeruns's. What are the odds that he finally gets to 40/40. I believe in both 2002 and 2003 he got to 35/35.
naiwf 0 Report post Posted June 17, 2006 Soriano with the Little League run, 2 steals and the last base on a bad throw. I think he'll get 40/40 this year. The Nats have nothing else to play for.
Guest NYankees Report post Posted June 17, 2006 Make that stolen base number 17 for the season for Soriano as he steals third and scores on a throwing error by Jorge Posada. Yankees have blown a 9-2 lead. Jesus!!!!
naiwf 0 Report post Posted June 17, 2006 The Sandman is getting rocked to sleep. Daryle (sp?) Ward has got to be one of the slowest men in baseball. He looked like he was having a heart attack rounding 3rd.
strummer 0 Report post Posted June 17, 2006 That was the first time the Yankees blew a 7 run lead and lost since 1997.
vivalaultra 0 Report post Posted June 17, 2006 You'd think there'd be some American League team that would wanna look in to getting Daryl Ward for a DH role. Dude's got some pop. He's less injury prone than Frank Thomas, too. He's had 13 hits this season. 4 doubles, 4 HR. He's gotten some pretty clutch hits, too.
TheDevilAndGodAreRagingInsideMe 0 Report post Posted June 17, 2006 Yankees took a 9-2 lead and are holding onto a 9-8 lead by a thread. Was Torre just straight up not paying attention when he brought Rivera in to the 8th inning (....for the second day in a row...) with the pitcher's spot due up 3rd in the top of the 9th. Bruiser Chong 0 Report post Posted June 17, 2006 Fuck Juan Pierre. Worthless piece of shit, but an expensive one at that. Eleven baserunners and one run.

Really, who else was there to pitch? Farnsworth can't, and Villones been overworked.
Guest NYankees Report post Posted June 17, 2006 Torre thought that the Yankees would hold onto the lead, hahahahaha, and that Rivera coming up 3rd in the ninth wouldn't mean anything.

vivalaultra 0 Report post Posted June 17, 2006 So, what's wrong with Jake Peavy? Are his ribs still hurt from the Padres' celebrating winning the division last season? He's still striking people out, but he's just...I dunno...not pitching bad, but he's giving up runs at an unPeavy-like rate.

I think Peavy's just had a bad stretch and he'll break out of it.
MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted June 17, 2006 Benson just took a 3-0 pitch from Pedro out for a solo HR to tie the game at 2. Nice..vs his old team and one of the premier pitchers in baseball. Last pitcher to hit a hr off Pedro was Doug Drabek in 1993.

treble 0 Report post Posted June 17, 2006 Yeah, can we put an end to this interleague stuff. Jays are 0-4 against NL teams, looking to go like 0-5 after Casey Janssen got rocked by the Marlins.
Mik 0 Report post Posted June 18, 2006 I like the Marlins. There, I said it. What's not to like? Payroll is $15 M. Used about 20 rookies this year and they play their hearts out EVERY play. Great team. No matter what their record ends up being.
Guest Report post Posted June 18, 2006 they play their hearts out EVERY play. That's why I like them. They definitely aren't the most talented, but they give it their all.
treble 0 Report post Posted June 18, 2006 At least there's some good news, as Burnett had another good rehab start in AA tonight. Plus Halladay is pitching tomorrow and they're going to Atlanta after this, so this slide shouldn't last too long.
MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted June 18, 2006 Os are winning 4-2, and from last night and so far tonight, it would be hard to believe the Os arent the team with the better record, as the Mets have been playing very sloppy. and Mora just got hbp. Great team. No matter what their record ends up being. That's the kind of team I'd like to be a fan of. Cubs are just about polar opposites of the Marlins, other than the record thing. They may wind up with a WORSE record than the Fish.
MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted June 18, 2006 Chris Ray gets save #18/18 and the Os win 4-2. Benson pitched 8 innings, retiring the last 15 batters he faced. The Mets sloppy play resulted in 3 errors.. I am stunned. Get out the brooms for tomorrow.
