I wasn't sure whether this should go in the "Comments Which Don't Warrant a Thread" thread or not, but since I'm posting it on its own, I guess I'm voting for not. Anyway, here ya go, from PWI:

There are plans for a TNA house show at the Tsongas Arena in Lowell, MA for 7/7.

Thoughts?

I'm about two hours and fifteen minutes away from the arena- I hope they get closer (Come on TNA, a show in Maine or New Hampshire= Huge money!)

The Tsongas Arena holds 7,000, which is probably a bit too big for TNA since I don't think they'd draw more than 1,500 with the house show cards I've seen. Unless maybe they bring Sting and Kevin Nash but even then it's a bit of a stretch to think more than 2,000 or so people will come.

TNA should do a show at the Whittemore Center at the University of NH. It's a small arena that would be more appropriate for the type of business they'd be expecting. That and it's forty minutes from my home.

They drew 3,700 hundred in Detroit on a show where Christian was the biggest name.

They can get by now on general excitement about "TNA coming to (insert your town here) for the first time," but at some point, I think they'll have to start taking the names on the road. Leaving the main guys of the road is what killed WCW's house show business, because the product they were touring with was not the product they were putting on TV. Team 3D has been pretty good about working the shows, Christian worked Detroit and a few of the podunk, va shows (surprisingly i might add), but i think at some point they'll have to convince Sting and Steiner to go out and help the draw if the they want the touring to take off.

PWI says that this isn't an official TNA house show. It's a show that just has TNA stars.

The 7/7 event in Lowell, MA at the Tsongas Arena is not a TNA licensed house show event, but a show being promoted by Dave Marquez' Liberty States Wrestling in association with the NWA. The show will feature six TNA stars and I was told that the venue (which features the TNA logo on their offiical website) was mistaken in announcing it as a TNA event.

The official press release for the event reads:

Lodi, NJ (June 15, 2006) – Great Western Capital Corporation of the Americas Presents “A Night of Champions” featuring the International Stars of TNA Wrestling, the National Wrestling Alliance and New Japan Pro Wrestling on Friday July 7, 2006 at the Paul E. Tsongas Arena in Lowell, MA. Scheduled to appear on the show:

NWA™ WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH

Christian Cage (Champion) Vs. Jeff Jarrett

INTERNATIONAL X-DIVISION REMATCH

Alex Shelly (Team USA) Vs. Black Tiger (Team Japan)

Puma Vs. Chris Sabin

BATTLE OF THE PRO WRESTLING GIANTS

Matt Morgan Vs. Aaron “Jesus” Aguilera

GRUDGE TAG TEAM MATCH

AJ Styles and Human Tornado Vs. James Storm and Bobby Joe Marshall

In the coming weeks NWA™ Pro Wrestling Officials will release more matches and show information. For tickets please call the box office at 978-848-6938 or Ticket Master at 617-931-2000. The Paul E. Tsongas Arena is located at 300 Martin L. King Jr. Way in Lowell, MA. This event is a production of NWA™ Pro Wrestling and Liberty States Wrestling. Watch TNA Impact every Thursday Night on Spike TV at 11:00 PM!

But the question is, would they bring those big stars to the UK if they got the chance?

Have you ever seen 1 Pro Wrestling? I believe they are based in the UK and they seem to have some type of working relationship with TNA. The NWA title has been defended there and talent like A.J. Styles, Abyss, Christopher Daniels, and Samoa Joe have been booked on alot of their shows.

Oh i know that, but i meant stars like Sting and Steiner.

Quite a good line up of matches, and im very happy to see The Human Tornado there!

Although the Morgan/Jesus match confuses me slightly, tryouts maybe?
