NoCalMike 0 Report post Posted June 18, 2006 So yeah I have been with Sprint since I first got a cell phone approx 5-6 years ago. Always had it insured, never needed to use it until now. Now the thing is, there is a $50.00 deductable which I am ok with, but does anyone know if they are sending me a NEW PHONE that is the same model or are they sending me a refurbished model, as in, another BROKEN PHONE that they had their techs fix. I know people from not only sprint but just about every cell phone company that whenever they tried to actually use their Insurance policy for a broken phone, all they ever were sent was other broken phones that would keep dying after a few weeks. When I call Sprint tomorrow I will be sure to ask all these questions, but I was just wondering if anyone on the board has experience in dealing with this issue.... JJMc 0 Report post Posted June 19, 2006 Take the phone apart and lay everything out to dry in front of the heater vent or on the baseboard. No shit, I've done this with two waterlogged phones and had them up and running in a day. Or, since you're probably not cheap like me, just save yourself the trouble. TSA09 0 Report post Posted June 19, 2006 Yeah just let it dry out for a few days and it'll be good as new. My father ran his threw the washing machine and after it dried out it worked. I also had a friend submerge his phone in a glass of Jack (dunno why) and he let it dry out and it worked as well.
Lil' Bitch 0 Report post Posted June 20, 2006 When I used to have Sprint, I hated the phone I had so I "lost it" and called them up. They sent me a much better phone in the mail, it was basically a more advanced model, but around the same price range as my previous phone.
NoCalMike 0 Report post Posted June 20, 2006 When I used to have Sprint, I hated the phone I had so I "lost it" and called them up. They sent me a much better phone in the mail, it was basically a more advanced model, but around the same price range as my previous phone. That is what I am hoping for. Since I have had this phone for over 2 years, it is almost guaranteed they won't have my model available, and they never send people a WORSE model, so I am hoping to get a better one. I just hope it isn't a refurbished piece of shit that will break in 2 weeks. Also, my phone is drying out as we speak. I am aware that SOME STUFF will work again once completely dry, so I am holding out hope for that too, but if I do get a better phone in the mail, then I will just transfer the numbers and send my old phone in anyway. NoCalMike 0 Report post Posted June 20, 2006 Cell Phone Update: Well the fucker dried out about 90% of the water from it, and it turns on and works. Haha. The screen is a little flaky, with a lot of the color being too dark, but at least now I can retrieve all the numbers out when the new phone arrives. The bad part is, I just spent $50.00 that I didn't really need to, but the good news is, it is probably for a phone that WOULD HAVE cost about $150 or more. Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted June 21, 2006 I hope you realize that every 2 years you get $150 off whatever new phone you decide to buy, if you want to.
kkktookmybabyaway 0 Report post Posted June 22, 2006 How could you forget you had a cell phone in your pants? Are they really that small nowadays? (Note I'm talking about the phone here; I know all about the shrinkage factor.)

Special K 0 Report post Posted June 24, 2006 I thought I had lost my cell phone, and was in the process of getting it replaced. I had an insurance policy, costs $5 a month to get it replaced free. They told me I had to fucking FILE a POLICE REPORT. Why? I lost it. It wasn't stolen. No one had made calls on it. I'm sure the police really want to spend time with some dude who doesn't want to pay $60. Officer I lost my $50 bill! I want to file a report! Thankfully I found it. Cocksuckers.
