2006 NBA Draft

Recommended Posts

This is the third straight year that the Bobcats have drafted the cover-boy of the following year's NCAA March Madness video game. Emeka Okafor, Raymond Felton, and Adam Morrison.

I think Marcus may have fallen into the best situation. He's going to be the heir apparent to Jason Kidd, which means he'll have a year to learn and get in even better shape while playing some quality minutes. All he has to do is show potential and he'll be the Nets starting point guard in a year.

As for the Knicks, I couldn't stop laughing. I was like that Knicks fan who was all chanting "MARCUS! MARCUS!" and then when the pick was made, he broke down laughing like a crazy man. I just KNEW they would find a pick that would make everyone shake their head.

i'm not even watching the draft but its hilarious to read the comments about the Knicks in this thread.

Every nba event just has to have some Isiah Thomas fuckup. It's like mandatory. What a great GM

I Think Jersey has come away like bandits. It is a damn shame that Phoenix gave up a chance on this kid to save money, but at least there are still about 5 guys that I have high on my list that I think they are going to be looking at. That Brazillian kid, Lowry, that Spanish-Chocolate kid....any damn body to get Nash a reliable back up point.

So now the Rockets trade is reported as Stromile Swift and Rudy Gay for Shane Battier.

The Rockets front office has let Charlie Casserly off the hook down here as the worst sports decision makers in town.

I love that it's always Jim Gray reporting from LA.

And why would the Grizz want Swift back? They just let him walk *last* summer.

That's what I was wondering. That's what's being reported though. Can't be finalized until July 12th though.

I'm hoping the Rockets flipped picks and Lowry's on his way here.

So now the Shaq trade is finally complete. The Lakers end up with Lamar Odom, Kwame Brown, Brian Gran'ts contract and Jordan Farmar. The Miami Heat get the 2006 NBA championship.

How does Mitch have a job again?

I didn't realize the Heat got Dwayne Wade in that trade. Seriously, Shaq put up Chris Mihm numbers in the finals.

And Phoenix i guess just saved a bunch of cap room and still have the Hawks first rounder next year to look forward to, but I really think they missed a great chance on building for the future here. Unless they really feel that Marcus williams was going to go all Khalid El-Amin on their ass in the offseasons, then okay.

Isiah's not playing the tank game, because, again, the Bulls have the right to switch picks with them as part of the Curry trade.

Did they pick the most moronic Knick fan in the place for that interview?

"Balkman's a good player, but I think he's a bum!"

Huh?

He said "I think Isiah's a bum"
