The 2 hour pilot airs tonight, 10pm - 12am.

A young woman named Krista Starr (Jill Wagner) who has herself turned into a vampire in order to infiltrate the world of the undead and avenge the death of her brother (Neil Jackson) is the leader of a powerful vampire house who hatches a scheme involving the Human Genome Project, Jessica Gower as his acolyte and henchwoman, and Nelson Lee as Blade's latest ally and "gadget man", Shen.

The series is reportedly set to take place following the events of Blade: Trinity and will not feature Hannibal King or Abigail Whistler. 13 episodes (which includes the 2-hour pilot) have been ordered by Spike TV.

Kirk Jones as Blade.

Jill Wagner as Krista Starr.

Nelson Lee as Shen.

Neil Jackson as Marcus Van Sciver.

Jessica Gower as Chase.

I'd rather call him Sticky Fingaz than Kirk Jones.

I'll watch it though I'm not expecting the pilot to blow me away. I'm just hoping the reviews where they said it's dark like the first Blade film are true. I like the dark look.

From the previews I have seen, it is AT LEAST worth giving a look at tonight. It seems like the budget is huge and that they are serious about making this work and not just capitalizing on the "Blade" movie series.

I will be watching~!

It sounds to me like someone came up with an idea for a show about some woman who has herself turned into a vampire in order to infiltrate the world of the undead and avenge the death of her brother, and just Blade tacked on as a selling point.

Still (even after seeing the opponent) just not sure I can believe 'Sticky Fingaz' as Blade. It's just weird. Voice sounded like he was really trying to sound like Wesley Snipes Blade, which I guess isn't a bad thing.

And as minor as it is, I don't think Blade ever had a bald head. Again, it's something minor, but it sort of irks me.

But I guess I can't really have full judgement until the show's over.

And, as of 75 minutes in, it would appear you are correct.

Blade seems to have been in maybe 25% of the show so far

When Blade is in, he's pretty good. The rest of these people have been horrible. Except Randy Quaid, he was great.

hell, I thought the pilot episode was better than Blade 2 and Blade:Trinity...

Sticky as Blade is...weird...but he did alright.

Is it just me or is Blade getting his ass kicked a lot more in this show than he did in the movies? He awlays seems outmatched and overwhelmed, whereas in the movies he had no troubles wiping waves of vampires out...Speaking of the movies, does this follow any sort of canon?

Marcus Van Sciver is NO Deacon Frost.

not bad, can't wait to see more episodes to get a clearer opinion.

I thought it wasn't too bad overall. The middle third was pretty slow. Wagner was mediocre and her part wasn't very well-written either. The parts that had Blade in them were good, and I liked the overall vibe and plot.

I'm a sucker for genre fiction stuff so I'll probably watch for a while unless it totally turns into the Wagner show.

Edit: For a Spike TV show this was amazing.

Well, it's over, and...It was ok. It wasn't horrible, and this season preview is makingit look better.

But really, I don't know if I can get into a season of this. It doesn't seem like a season of a tv show so much as...a really long movie.

The main chick, is pretty attractive. She has a really nice body, and a pretty dull, tomboyish face. As exhibited by the first scene in the white dress. It pans up the body and it's like wow, and they get to the face and it's just, woa..she looks like she could kick my ass. I'd do her nonetheless.

It is a little weird having a series called Blade, where Blade isn't really the main character. But then again, I don't know how good of a series you can have strictly based on Blade. It seems like it'll be something good, but not something you just have to see every week.

Was that girl Emma Watson? No....

No. She hasn't really done anything looking at her IMDB, but I do remember her from an episode of Smallville. Here she is http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1626052/

I thought it was pretty good and has lots of potential. But the story following the girl seems like it could get boring really fast. For a series called BLADE, there wasn't much of him going around. Be like making the series SPIDERMAN and then focusing in on Mary Jane's modeling career for most of the premiere.

Hopefully it was just to establish the other characters since we know Blade and from now on, the show will be more focused on him with the rest being pieces to a big supporting cast puzzle.

I liked it. I thought the first hour flew by, which is what the length of a regular episode will be. The fight scenes were badass, and I liked Blade having a bald head, I didn't think I would, but it looked pretty cool.

I liked it. Thought they allowed a nice amount of blood/gore for non-premium channel cable. They allowed a cuss word or two, which is a plus.

I think the criticism of "lack of Blade" is a little premature, I mean I think they needed to use the pilot episode to set up what the storyline would be.

The season preview looked badass.

What did that one vamp chick mean when she said "Time to see how the other half of us live" ? Was she referring to the PURE BLOOD vamps, or the undead things in the freezer?

I think whatever it is might end up being Blade's main problem. Or she might have just meant, the commando type vamps, who knows.

I just hope Randy Quaid comes back. He didn't die did he? I missed 15 minutes so I'm hoping he didn't. And I wonder when Whistler comes into play or is he already dead in this series?

I completely forgot that this was on last night. Anyone know if there'll be a repeat?

There is an encore presentation this Saturday. I forget what time though.

I've been liking this series...not as bad as I thought it was going to be.

In episode 6, The Evil Within, that aired last night, Chase (Jessica Gower) seemingly

got killed by an explossion caused by

Blade. And Krista broke into the lab and

stole the Aurora vaccine.

The Season Finale, "Conclave" airs tonight at 10pm.

The first season concludes with Blade and Shen monitoring Marcus's plan during a stakeout of the House of Chthon.

I dunno if I am the only one at TSM that is watching this every week, but this series has suprisingly been AWESOME, and the preview for the season finale tonight looks great.

My biggest gripe is with Marcus Van Whatever, he just seems like too much of a wimp/lightweight to be a major villian. My hope is that tonight in the season finale, Blade, Shen and Krista end up killing Marcus and taking down Chthon, and then next season picks up with the trio moving on to another Vampire house to take down.

I watch it every week, too. Nothing else really comes on Wednesday nights, and it's been a pretty entertaining season.

But Neil Jackson is gorgeous! :P I don't think he's been too bad.

This has been a pretty good show. I don't think it's been doing too great in the ratings, though. I just hope that it's done well enough that it'll be back for a second season.

I liked this show a lot, I really hope in comes back. I am a sucker for genre fiction that is not Joss Whedon dreck.

"So what's the plan?"

"We're going in with two gun - one might not work."

"That's it?"

"That's it."

"...Give me the one that works then."

(Something like that anyway)

I enjoyed the season once it picked up and they ended things on a nice little interesting cliffhanger. Not entirely sure how that'll work out but not really that worried about it. Shame Rusk had to die though, he seemed like he was going to be a fun future villian.

Guess next season (if they get one) will be more of the same with Marcus against Blade.

My only gripes were the death of Charlotte and the series felt like it should be called "Krista" more than Blade.
