Guest messiahtype Posted July 12, 2006 Report Posted July 12, 2006 everyone knows what happened between him and the rougeau brothers. what other people did he have heat with? Does Dk have a history for taking liberties in the ring?
CanadianGuitarist Posted July 12, 2006 Report Posted July 12, 2006 I don't know what happened with the Rougeaus. Foley says in his first book, while he doesn't hold it against him, DK definitely took some liberties with Foley in his second match ever. Don't be afraid to use the shift key nxt post.
CanadianChris Posted July 12, 2006 Report Posted July 12, 2006 He talked about the Rougeau incident in his book. Short version: Rougeaus mistakenly thought Dynamite cut up their clothes as a practical joke (it was actually Curt Hennig, IIRC) and blindsided him in the locker room. If you read Pure Dynamite, you'll get a pretty good idea of who he has heat with.
Special K Posted July 12, 2006 Report Posted July 12, 2006 Does Dk have ahistroy for taking liberties int he ring? He threw barrels at an Italian plumber. I think that qualifies for taking liberties int he ring.

Once he got within range, Jacques clocked him in the teeth. I think after a talk with Vince, they agreed that Jacques would pay some (or all) of the dental work.

DK got hit with knuckle dusters so yeah it was brutal.
10 Pounds Posted July 12, 2006 Report Posted July 12, 2006 There a funny Dynamite Kid story on the Jake Roberts DVD, I don't remember all of it but it goes something like this : Jake was teaming with the Bulldogs against the Hart Foundation and someone else. Bret makes a mistake in the ring, Dynamite goes to Jake and asks "Right eye or left eye ?". Jake doesn't answer so DK says "Both ?", so Jake tell him to hit the left eye. Dynamite then asks "Punch, knee or elbow ?", Jake once again doesn't answer so Dynamite hits Bret in the left eye with the elbow. He would hit him again in all the matches for the rest of the tour. I don't think there was any serious heat between Dynamite Kid and Bret. But then again, I didn't read his book, so maybe he's bitter towards many people. Wouldn't it be funny if he called Benoit nothing but an crappy impersonator ?

There was a little bit of heat after DK's book came out but than I think it just died off some or completely. The story you're talking about was the Stampede days and not the WWF days. From memory that was what Jake was talking about. It would make more sense that way as well.

The only reason I could think for the heat would be because of his comments towards Bulldog. Can it be anything else?
EdwardKnoxII Posted July 12, 2006 Report Posted July 12, 2006 I think Kid also had some heat with the Honkey Tonk Man too. But, it seems HTM has heat with everyone.
Lil' Bitch Posted July 13, 2006 Report Posted July 13, 2006 Re: Foley IIRC I believe that's the match where DK hit Foley and knocked two of his teeth or something like that.
Toshiaki Koala Posted July 13, 2006 Report Posted July 13, 2006 He must have had heat with the Japanese fans, considering how he was always beating the shit out of them and stuff.
CanadianChick Posted July 13, 2006 Report Posted July 13, 2006 He must have had heat with the Japanese fans, considering how he was always beating the shit out of them and stuff. Nah, they love that!

Wikipedia mentions heat between them because of comments he made about Stu Hart in Pure Dynamite.
Guest jm29195 Posted July 13, 2006 Report Posted July 13, 2006 An obvious person that he had heat with was Davey Boy himself- the 2 didn't talk for at least the last ten years of the Bulldog's life- there was even a time- between Smith's 93 WCW run, and 94 WWF run that Dynamite went after Bulldog at a UK indy show, with Davey Boy barracading himself in the locker room and calling the police...
Guest Vishnu Posted July 13, 2006 Report Posted July 13, 2006 So... why did Davey and Dynamite have heat? I've never heard about what happened between those two.
Guest Super Leather Posted July 13, 2006 Report Posted July 13, 2006 So... why did Davey and Dynamite have heat? I've never heard about what happened between those two. Davey Boy and members of his family had been spreading false rumors about Dynamite to his own family and friends in England for years, regarding anything from drug use to how "Davey saved Dynamite from getting killed by the Rougeaus." Meanwhile, if it wasn't for Dynamite helping out his cousin (by bringing him to Stampede, making him look good in the ring, and eventually teaming up with him), Davey Boy Smith would have been absolutely no one.
