Epic Reine 0 Report post Posted July 18, 2006 What are some song titles that people often get wrong? I got some: "Keep 'Em Seperated" by The Offspring (Come Out And Play) "Comin' Down The Mountain" by Jane's Addiction (Mountain Song) "Time Of Your Life" by Green Day (Good Riddance [Time Of Your Life]) "The Sandman" (or simply Sandman) by Metallica (Enter Sandman) People confuse the Offspring one all the time. I always gotta correct them.

Special K 0 Report post Posted July 18, 2006 Baba O'Riley has to be the #1. (Teenage Wasteland) It doesn't really count if it's called Come out and Play [Keep 'em Separated] I hate that convention. Next it'll be It Takes Two [to make a thing go right {Yeah! Woo!}] "The Sandman" (or simply Sandman) by Metallica (Enter Sandman) I don't know anyone who's ever confused the name of that song. They say Sandman like once during the song.
Corey_Lazarus 0 Report post Posted July 19, 2006 To be fair, "Come Out And Play" is the full title that is written on the tracklisting for the album. No mention of the line "keep 'em separated" in the title, IIRC. It annoys me when people say Pantera's "Walk" is called "Respect." Young'uns (like 12-14) I can understand confusing this, but then there's people that have been listening to Pantera longer than I have and don't even realize that "Respect" isn't the title of any Pantera song. Epic Reine 0 Report post Posted July 19, 2006 Also, Faith No More's "Epic" is often mistaken for "What is it?" due to it's chorus. Hell I'll admit it, up until my freshman year in high school, I thought "What is it?" was the name of the song as well and I've been listening to that song years before that. Giuseppe Zangara 0 Report post Posted July 19, 2006 "Comin' Down The Mountain" by Jane's Addiction (Mountain Song) Are you sure you're not talking about yourself? Because this one is really dumb and probably never happened. And don't get me wrong! I'm not just being an asshole, as the other ones you listed were somewhat understandable. PLAGIARISM! 0 Report post Posted July 19, 2006 The Proclaimers' 'I'm Gonna Be' usually has '500 miles' stuck on it in numerous forms, don't think it did originally.
Epic Reine 0 Report post Posted July 19, 2006 "Comin' Down The Mountain" by Jane's Addiction (Mountain Song) Are you sure you're not talking about yourself? Because this one is really dumb and probably never happened. And don't get me wrong! I'm not just being an asshole, as the other ones you listed were somewhat understandable. I've heard the mistake more than once from other people. Considering the lead yells the phrase "comin' down the mountain" in the beginning of the song, it's probably where people got it or they might forget the name of the song but know it involves a mountain. Just a few weeks ago, my friend's brother was talking to me about Jane's Addiction and mentioned how "Comin' Down The Mountain" was his favorite song by them and I corrected him by saying that "Mountain Song" was the actual name. Giuseppe Zangara 0 Report post Posted July 20, 2006 Granted, I haven't had much truck with Jane's Addiction in years, but he should've been smart enough to know their best song is either "Three Days" or "Summertime Rolls."
