CanadianChris Posted July 31, 2006 Report Posted July 31, 2006 Today was a very bad loss for the Blue Jays. BJ gave up a 3 run shot with 2 outs in the bottom of the ninth against the A's. The horrible thing was, they scored three in the top of the ninth to take a 5-3 lead. Barring an incredibly unlikely sweep of the Yankees at the Stadium this week, I think I can safely say that's it for the Jays as contenders.
Guest StylesMark Posted July 31, 2006 Report Posted July 31, 2006 Schilling is getting shelled right now.

I read that the batter before Bradley worked a walk on 12 pitches. Schilling is getting bent over and Raped tonight by the Angels. 3 homeruns so far this inning to make it a 6-1 game.
Boon Posted July 31, 2006 Report Posted July 31, 2006 Boston fans are awesome. They boo'd Ben Affleck for not interfering with a foul ball on the first base side.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted July 31, 2006 Report Posted July 31, 2006 Chase Utley extends his hitting streak to 31 games.
Guest Princess Leena Posted July 31, 2006 Report Posted July 31, 2006 It was 30, after the 1st game today After the 2nd game, it is 31. Tomorrow, it will be 0.
Guest NYankees Posted July 31, 2006 Report Posted July 31, 2006 I thought it was 30? Phillies and the Marlins were playing a double header today.
Guest StylesMark Posted July 31, 2006 Report Posted July 31, 2006 Tomorrow, it will be 0. NAWW! Didn't realize they played a double header.
Guest Princess Leena Posted July 31, 2006 Report Posted July 31, 2006 Once hitting streaks are talked about, there is a 78% chance of immediate extermination.
Guest StylesMark Posted July 31, 2006 Report Posted July 31, 2006 It's like when ESPN goes LIVE! to a no-hitter in the 8th. No, that's probably a 97% failure rate.

Bruiser Chong Posted July 31, 2006 Report Posted July 31, 2006 Ryan Franklin was DFA. Guy still thinks he should be a starter. He says he was signed as one and did nothing in ST to show he wasn't capable of doing so.

He says he was signed as one and did nothing in ST to show he wasn't capable of doing so. I expect that Theo is frantically dialing Franklin's agent right now. I don't think the David Wells experiment will turn out well...except for the team he's pitching to.
Boon Posted July 31, 2006 Report Posted July 31, 2006 Red Sox start climbing back into it, now down 6-4.

Yes he sucked, but it's a slap in the face when the organization brings up retreads like Adam Bernero rather than give you a shot.
the pinjockey Posted July 31, 2006 Report Posted July 31, 2006 According to an article about his DFA, he was offered the start in Toronto but turned it down since it would just be the one start.
Guest Posted July 31, 2006 Report Posted July 31, 2006 I get to see highly touted D-Backs prospect Carlos Gonzales tomorrow. Yay. If anyone cares (unlikely), the guy should be in AA or AAA. He has limitless power, even though he's skinny. He reminds me of Beltran.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted July 31, 2006 Report Posted July 31, 2006 Gonzalez is just 20 years old and tearing up the California League. The raw numbers look impressive, but Lancaster is a hitters' park in a hitters' league. I'm a little cautious until he hits AA. I think he's for real though.
Guest Felonies! Posted July 31, 2006 Report Posted July 31, 2006 Is there a clip ANYWHERE of the Hendrickson balk? C'mon.
