Timmy8271 Posted August 3, 2006 Report Posted August 3, 2006 I don't know if this is the right forumn but i guess i will try. Which channel do you watch for National news: CNN, MSNBC or FOX NEWS? My pick is MSNBC followed with a little fox.
Dobbs 3K Posted August 3, 2006 Report Posted August 3, 2006 I probably watch CNN the most, then probably Fox News a bit.
snuffbox Posted August 3, 2006 Report Posted August 3, 2006 C-SPAN. Watching Fox News is like asking for directions from a guy that loos really, really lost.
Prophet of Mike Zagurski Posted August 3, 2006 Report Posted August 3, 2006 I watch both CNN and Fox because I am fair and balanced. It's weird how one network will cover a live event like a Bush speech (CNN, I am not kidding) and Fox will talk about something else.
Gary Floyd Posted August 3, 2006 Report Posted August 3, 2006 MSNBC. They actually make pundits (Tucker Carlson, Keith Olberman) slightly more tolerable.
Danville_Wrestling Posted August 3, 2006 Report Posted August 3, 2006 I also favor C-Span, especially that Washington Journal show in the morning where they read you the newspaper. Corny concept but its fun to listen to the wacky callers. All of the other cable news places have their deficiencies. I don't like CNN because I am not a big fan of Larry King and their coverage is a bit too liberal for my tastes. Fox is more of an ESPN for news type network but I can't really stand the "debates" they have every hour on the hour with people just yelling over top of each other getting nothing accomplished. MSNBC I hardly watch at all because it seems that it has too many people over there who are uncomfortable in front of a camera. MSNBC did a number on me with the Abrahms report several years ago that I'll never forget when the entire show seemed to collapse as Abrahms messed up guest introductions, didn't know when segments were ending, etc. Just very funny and unprofessional. I prefer to ignore most domestic cable news and just read papers, policy journals, and magazines. Still get all of the arguments but with less fluff especially on the foreign affairs pieces which interest me a great deal. I like the BBC a lot but it doesn't fall into this category so yea.
Dobbs 3K Posted August 3, 2006 Report Posted August 3, 2006 I think my favorite right now is Lou Dobbs, for some reason.
Big Ol' Smitty Posted August 3, 2006 Report Posted August 3, 2006 I think my favorite right now is Lou Dobbs, for some reason. I kind of think of you as a Lou Dobbs type.
KingPK Posted August 3, 2006 Report Posted August 3, 2006 I can't stand any of them right now for more than 5 minutes. Usually I'll tune into either CNN or FOX for their little half hour headline updates, but the only personality I can remotely tolerate on either network is Anderson Cooper. Sheppard Smith can get eaten by lions for all I care and Nancy Grace can go right in after him.
Guest Felonies! Posted August 3, 2006 Report Posted August 3, 2006 C-SPAN, but not often. I don't really like cable news.
Vampiro69 Posted August 3, 2006 Report Posted August 3, 2006 C-SPAN. Watching Fox News is like asking for directions from a guy that loos really, really lost. Wow, a guy from Wisconsin hating Fox News. I am stunned. I actually will watch all three from time to time. The reason is because each network usually puts a different spin on the news that day.
Guest Felonies! Posted August 4, 2006 Report Posted August 4, 2006 C-SPAN. Watching Fox News is like asking for directions from a guy that loos really, really lost. Wow, a guy from Wisconsin hating Fox News. I am stunned. Wisconsin has just as many nutball conservatives as nutball liberals, don't kid yourself.
Big Ol' Smitty Posted August 4, 2006 Report Posted August 4, 2006 This seems as good a place as any for this. On his Fox News program, Bill O'Reilly called Mel Gibson's recent anti-Semitic comments "inexcusable," but said it is "more important" to discuss the "point where the media and individual Americans start to enjoy the suffering of rich and powerful people." Guest Geraldo Rivera later suggested that O'Reilly refer to "that schmuck from MSNBC," apparently MSNBC host Keith Olbermann; Rivera added that the "schmuck from MSNBC" is a "lowlife." Rivera also asserted that Comedy Central hosts Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert "make a living putting on video of old ladies slipping on ice and people laughing" and that they "exist in a small little place where they count for nothing." Now I wanna watch Olbermann, Stewart, and Colbert to see if they react to this dickwaving by two of the biggest douchebags on planet Earth.
Big Ol' Smitty Posted August 4, 2006 Report Posted August 4, 2006 I don't ever watch him, but he has to be better than O'Reilly and Geraldo.
Guest netslob Posted August 4, 2006 Report Posted August 4, 2006 i get all my news from the Daily Show and the Colbert Report...which should explain alot.
Timmy8271 Posted August 4, 2006 Author Report Posted August 4, 2006 I like Olbermann. Mostly for his bashing of Fox news and Ann Coulter. I saw that Geraldo piece on Tucker charlson today. Funny as hell. He's just as wacky as that stupid Laura Ingrham is.
Vyce Posted August 4, 2006 Report Posted August 4, 2006 CNN Headline News. Cause they have plenty of hot news chicks, like Robin Meade, who owns you. If you disagree, it's probably because you're a faggot.
Art Sandusky Posted August 4, 2006 Report Posted August 4, 2006 CNN Headline News. Cause they have plenty of hot news chicks, like Robin Meade, who owns you. If you disagree, it's probably because you're a faggot. Don't forget Erica Hill. She's the best. I'm a CNN guy and die inside whenever I miss The Situation Room, but will always switch around when big things are going on to see how it's being reported in other outlets. Since I've been working a lot lately and can only catch later programs, Lou Dobbs is really, really good. It's really the only old-school news show they have left in their primetime lineup. I have no idea why Larry King is still on. I never known anyone who watches it.

Art Sandusky Posted August 4, 2006 Report Posted August 4, 2006 http://situationrave.ytmnd.com/ And you absolutely have to listen to the whole thing.

Still, you drive half an hour out of Madison and you're in truck country, where everyone seems to have an equal hatred for gun control, diversity, and the Chicago Bears.

I wouldn't say Wisconsin is out and out racist...but, I would say there is a decent amount of racial tension (yes, there is a difference) with the rapidly increasing Hispanic and Hmong populations in the state.
