I have a question...

How can you have a match where a retired wrestler (Austin) puts his career on the line? Doesn't this negate the entire reason Austin is fighting Coach at Taboo Tuesday since JR and his non-job (as well as Austin's job in retirement?) are on the line?

From PWInsider:

USA has sent out a "Media Advisory" to anyone coming to Monday's Raw taping in Anaheim to dress up in costumes for Halloween.  They also created a little song (I swear) sung to the tune of Boris Pickett's "The Monster Mash".  Here is it:

You'll be sitting in your homes on Monday Night

When your eyes will share an eerie sight

For up from The Pond wrestling fans will arise

And suddenly to our viewers eyes

They'll see The Bash

We'll call it Monster Bash

The Monster Bash

Will catch on in a flash

The Monster Bash

Will lead to Cena and a Michaels clash

The Monster Bash

Will have fans showing up in costume flash.

From his laboratory in the castle East

The Chairman will be vexing least

Taboo Tuesday follows Monday's RAW

And excitement will not be lacking awe

As titles will be on the line

Angle, Big Show and Carlito claw

For a chance to claim the champion's belt

And scream to all that's what they always felt .

But before that let's remember this

A sell-out crowd will show up waving fists

They'll be dressed as vampires, ghosts and ghouls

Hoping cameras will catch all their moves

For at 9 the show will be under way

When Stone Cold and others hit the mat

To the roar we'll call The Monster Bash.

Bill: Why did you play that song? I'm sure there are a hundred other Valentines Day songs that people would like to hear.

Marty: Well, you know, I just thought it would be a welcome change. All the monsters mashing, politely enjoying each others company.

Bill: You put the wrong record on, didn't you?

Marty: Why do you do this to me?

It's Vince-logic, don't question it

I said the exact same thing in the Raw thread.

Got no answer.

I want to know why the Ortons weren't arrested by authorities 2 weeks ago on SD when they openly admitted to killing Taker with fire at No Mercy? Taz and Cole even acknowledged they literally killed Taker.

Again, I try to suspend disbelief, but try explaining this to a person who hasn't watched WWE without sounding like a complete and total retard.

Yet when they want to, they be "realistic" and have Kane under "house arrest" or in "jail".

In fact it only applies to Kane because anytime a wrestler is "arrested", they return later that night.

That's a good measure to whether something on wrestling is any good. If you can explain a match or an angle to a non-fan without sounding like an idiot for defending the match or angle at hand, then chances are it was something good.

Exactly, I was telling my friend a few weeks ago about the raven/dreamer storyline and all it's side-plots and he loved it (he's a writer as well) and he said it was very engaging just from the description alonw...and guess what? I never even mentioned it was a wrestling storyline until the very end. His reaction? "It must have sucked then".

In WWE land, much like in Aruba, you can't convict without a body.

That's all I've got.

You can't kill what's already dead.

Is there any particular reason why they're using Josh Matthews as an announcer, rather than a wrestler, like they originally trained him for?

I seem to recall Josh Matthews vs Kid Kash from the now-defunct XWF getting good reviews, and given WWE's love of homegrown talent, it's a little surprising they've never used him as a wrestler (with the exception of an SD match during the JBL/Booker T feud). Did they really hire him just to be a commentator?

According to Meltzer, Edge has a partially torn pec (how serious is that, if anyone knows?) and Kane has a bad back injury.

Edge can't go 3 months without an injury of some kind.

Depends on how big the tear is. If it's small and doesn't need surgery, time off will help. If he does need surgery to repair it, he could be out months instead of weeks.

Psst...he hasn't had an injury in a year. But that was classy of you.

According to Meltzer, it doesn't look like he'll need surgery. Is him toughing it out for TT and then just having an on screen role for a month or so a good assumption?
